Any thoughts on having photos done off events in the caves and overland?
One of biggest thrills for me is to see people costumes. You see the impact they have on muggles in the cafes asking us for photos
Then we (Sam/Will) could post them online. Double win as it would promote how cool the caves are...
Happy to volunteer to photograph the final dawn - obviously taking down photos of people who want to keep the hobby private.
Would love to.
One of the things that delayed my enterace to the caves was the narrative press it gets at fest events. I think photos of a bunch of cavies down in cool kit at final dawn would go a long way to help promote it
I'm endlessly surprised to hear that it's still getting bad press at fest - the info that's based on I think is about 30 years old from a couple of photos in GM magazine that had monsters wearing jeans.
I agree photos are a nice way to recall old events - broadly as long as the photographer doesn't intrude on the running of the event itself - which I'm sure Marcus would avoid. Sounds a cool idea,
Giles.
Photos definitely sell a larp and it'd be cool to get some done. Just not entirely sure it'd work in the caves, getting the lighting right to do it justice would be incredibly difficult.
Maybe an extended length with nicely set pieces would work better? Easier light to deal with.... even though we still usually make it dark and block out natural light 😂
I have no issue with having photos taken in LARP kit and if it promotes the hobby I am up for it.
Photos do sell the hobby and the more people that join the more fun the hobby is.
Happy to help out on a photographer front. Love to help promote the caves, even though I'm not currently playing.
I know a guy that does lighting...
