This is the Judgement of a priest named Charis for the murder of Jack Daniels.
From Statements gathered it seems clear that Jack Daniels is what older mercenaries would recall to be a Berserker and like many of those touched by such a spirit sharing their body, he has little to no control over himself once lured in to combat. He attacked many of his company, those they were hired to help and was a general menace to his group. Had Charis sought to incapacitate Jack, but landed one too many blows in the confusion with the act of handing himself in I would be inclined to judge in his favour given the difficult situation. Sadly it is not this simple as many of those giving statements have said that Charis killed Jack while he was already unconscious and of no further threat to his group at all. They could have just left him on the floor never to see him again but Charis made a decision to act in a wholly vindictive way. As such I have no choice but to sentence Charis to execution at the earliest possible convenience, the Empire will arrange for his resurrection or at his request pass the body to a church of his choosing from there he will walk a free man. Until executed he is outlawed. It is clear from the Statements gathered that Jack Daniels was no innocent party and is not cut out for mercenary life in the Empire while he lacks any control of himself. As such I bind him over to keep the Empress' peace, if he so much as attacks another Mercenary the sentence is very likely to be at least Ostracism from the Empire and Killing a mercenary will be judged exceptionally harshly by the full powers of the law. Sounds fair to me. Do I get to choose the manner of my death?
I would like it to be from overeating cheese please Charis OOC: I’m down in a week and will hopefully recover my card from behind the desk and have the vitae crossed off. |

Louis Athanyn Covenant I accept that I need to try and gain some control over the Spirit, but this can only be done by travelling and gaining experience! I do the mercenary name dishonour, by sitting at home and not using my vitie to help those that need it. I accept my binding over to keep the peace, but request that this punishment also be imposed on Chris? I am glad you gave him the lesser punishment and did not request his distruction. Jack Daniels |

See, he did it again. At least this time, the poor goblin that had to put this mad man down wasn't killed as punishment like I was.
Seems my action was totally in line with how mercenaries should respond to crazy bezerkers! Yes! Can I get my vitae back now? Charis Not an outlaw |
