Good Morning,
As Mr F mentioned in his weekly post this week, the cave is indeed a mine, and we have just completed our 5 year annual inspection, although I think it’s the first one the Labyrinthe side has had for at least 15 years maybe ever. This inspection is completed by the mining inspectorate, to check we are safe and able to be open. The good news is they are happy with the structure of the caves, and all the monthly, quarterly and annual inspections and records of them that happen to review structure. They are however responsible for all aspects of both Tours and Labyrinthe’s safety to the public and club members. The good news is we have broadly passed, we are aware of a few non-compliances which we have time to correct, and are already working on, if and when these will affect the club, I will be sure to let you all know. We are still waiting to receive the full written report, but in the meantime stay posted for updates, and any new rules and or procedures. Rgds Duncan |
