If i had a spiritual ability that enabled me to see through darkness would it enable me to see through magical darkness? Cheers in advnace, Joe |

bit of a funny one that will end up in a debate i imagine...
the tables ability gives see through all forms of supernatural darkness and your see through is from a spiritual source so a darkness from a magical source you wouldn't be able to see through and vice versa... on the other hand it purely depends on how the ability you have is written if its "see through darkness" then i would say yes it works but it may have to be clarified by MCC. if it is written "see through spiritual darkness" then a black mana one you wouldn't see through... then there is the almighty factor which always kicks up a stink, what about mantics? would you see through it, not see through it or partially see through it lol Well that's my two cents if it means anything Aaron |

This discussion has been done before with spiritual light vs magical darkness and spiritual darkness vs magical light, and if I remember darkness wins, apart from the case of either being purely spiritual or magical in which case your power base wins. I know what you are asking is slightly different but its close enough to be judged the same I would imagine.

Yep as DanM stated - No
Simply put - your see through is psiritual base it only affects spiritual based darkness - not magical base. Had this debate and was all cleared up by Mark Cox Only the tables ability allows one to see through all supernatural darkness - or a racial ability such as what Orcs have. Or it clearly states on the YP......  |

Cheers in advnace, Joe It doesn't apply, and therefore I'd suggest don't bother buying it because the number of spiritual darknesses out there (bearing in mind it won't apply in 'mantic ones) is vanishingly small. Unless the ability grants you something else funky as well, like spirit sight. Lucy |

Just to clarify this was theoretical only.
I haven't put in for see through spiritual darkness in spite of the 'special' qualities of my attempts at non standards! I had thought of another ability entirely which would have given see through as a side-benefit but would have been a spiritual ability therfor making the see through pointless anyway!
