The man sat and flipped the coin. The silver glistening in the moon light.
“You’re late” “yes, but I'm here” “Do you have the ritual” “I do, but it’s not as easy as you’d hope” “Let me worry about that” An ornate wooden box with silver inscriptions was handed over. Opening the box the man checked the contents. A leather map, a simple length of silver ribbon, a jar with earth in it, and candles that seemed to glow as the moon touched them. “Everything there?” “It seems so yes” “My payment?” “Oh yes, your payment” The man flipped the coin into the air, and as it rose he reached into his robe. Drawing a knife in a single motion he leaned forward stabbing the other under the ribs and up. “This should cover it” The man bent down and picked up the coin, a plain simple affair with no markings. Collecting his box he left the corpse where it had fell. -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
