So pathing is for the most part used to gain mantics in some way.
Is it possible to use a path to become immune to mantics either entirely or in part? Has anyone found a path use that is totally unrelated to mantics? -------------------- "A soldier's first battlefield is always his own mind"

Carlo has used his path slot to do just about anything including for characters that don’t have one... I would ask his expertise...

I used a path to go Druid - didn’t fancy anything spiritual and this earth power route fitted in nicely with the character.

Do all characters have a path slot free?
It's been mentioned before but what slots does a character have? 1 of each type of guild 1 tradition 1 multirace Multi class as points past thresholds? 1 path (is this only to cross the mana spirit gap?) Andy |

Ive used my path for flexi ISP done via ritualism, which technically includes (super pricey) mantics, but is basically used as a lot of teaching scrolls.

It's worth noting that a character's path slot is worth more or less depending on what they are. The path slot of a bracket locked warrior probably isn't worth much compared to the path slot of a non-locked priest or wizard.

Whilst I see the logic, that seems a little harsh on the warrior, unless the ability he got that locked him into the bracket specifically says he losses his path shouldn't he be able to trade it in for something of equal power as a wizard or priest, after all the bracket lock already cost him a lot of multiclass options? -------------------- "A soldier's first battlefield is always his own mind"

I could be wrong. But a bracket locked warrior doesn't lose anything by giving up their path slot. They've already effectively lost it by becoming locked, so losing it again is no sacrifice.
For example, a straight 8th mystic has the potential to MC priest then path wizard (or the other way around) and gain a lot from it. Sacrificing it loses them a lot of potential at that point. The dedication to the art route brackets locks them, but doesn't specifically take the path slot. So they still have a path slot, but can no longer buy as anything that could use it. Sacrificing the useless path slot now basically means nothing. I wouldn't expect to get anything amazing for giving it up. Again, I could well be wrong. Which would explain why I don't apply for outrageous things as I assume they won't get passed -------------------- Nibs

For a warrior to path he has to first multiclass and then path from that multiclass as a 2nd Class option*. Bracket Locked means that he has traded off the ability to Multiclass and all its Class buy as (which is what a path would be). So a Warrior doesn't start with a Path Slot he only gains one by Multi-classing to an appropriate power using class. Bracket Locking presumably already factors that in. *That option used to be available to Paladins / APs but I'm pretty sure (amongst the many changes) it was taken away for being too hard and they too like all other Warrior subclasses have to MC before they can take a path BBB -------------------- Grey's Law: Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice...

I just recently used my Path Slot combined with my 10k gift slot as Tsu-Ling to get an Uber Path to be able to cast my miracles with all powerbases and any mix of them I fancy.
Sadly not as tough for him as you might imagine* given he can't benefit from Magic (monk restriction) or EP (additional monk restrictions) but useful for buffs on other people. *NO doubt many will just say "Its a BBB Spend" no surprise there... i have pathed into the neuronic bracket as a wizard warrior type... but had restriction of may never combine the 2 power bases.
iv used my path to give my assassin ki strikes that can do any type of damage (slayers blows style) iv also had a warrior wizard path druid. iv also done the standard path to wizard, path to priest and path to mancer... I also know someone that has used their path slot as a warrior gone priest to get powerhouse... but that was a while ago under a different gsm... -------------------- Grant.
