Silence settled over the town of Stonehaven. It was hard to see any future for the settlement, beyond that of an archetypal ghost town. Homes lay abandoned, nothing stirred, living or dead. And the mines had slowly, over the course of a couple of days, without any fanfare or drama, collapsed in on themselves, burying what had become the stronghold of Aviathar.

Only those of strongest will, who called on their faith in their patron on Starsday evening as a ripple of power surged across Primus, can even remember the world of Martheon, or it's fey world spirit Trixie. For all divinations and investigations, Martheon no longer exists and indeed...seemingly never did as far as most can tell.

If someone who remembers reminds others, then those blessed with vitae can slowly regain their memories, but it is like recalling a dream, once vivid but now faded and unreal.

Those who remember, know better. But for all others, Aviathar's forces came from an unknown locale, and were just another invading force, swiftly intercepted and dealt with in the battle Starsday just gone.

Dakarian, Za'karr and the others were of no particular consequence, just warlords without any history or story, the latest in a long line of would be failed conquerors.

As for the void lords and their heralds, the same holds even more true of them, most cannot remember anything about them.

And life continues...

((the story may one day continue in the campaign "against the void lords" but that will be a while away, if ever! tongue.gif ))

A rather disturbing occurrence has been reported in Sellaville.

A pile of eight decapitated heads has been left outside the front doors of the Tryst temple, appearing there just before a service, at the busiest time of the day. But none saw who was responsible, one moment there was nothing there, the next moment the gruesome display was complete.

The heads are of some of the more prominent folk in the city. But of their wives, their daughters, their sisters, their mothers. In every case, they are red haired women of the city.

And fixed to the forehead of the topmost head in the pile is a note that reads simply...

"Lord Blackheart,

I know what you did to my sister. It will not be forgotten, nor forgiven.

You will come to regret your choice. This I vow, I care not how long it takes.

I have learned to be a patient man, one day I will find something or someone you value as much as I did her, and I will take it from you.

Even the gods...especially the gods, must pay for their actions.

Until that day...

Isaac"

When a priest of the temple seeks to remove the heads, there is a flash of power and the heads are gone, leaving the bloodstained note fluttering onto the flagstones.

But the tale swiftly spreads...
