The Mayor had listened to the report. So Mortai were taking an interest in the old abandoned Abbey? Well it was not so abandoned now. The Abbey had been left unclaimed for too long. He had felt the power of the seal wane. Perhaps for once those “Do Gooders” could actually be put to use for the greater good. Repair the Seal or simply make it so that it was no longer required.

It was gratifying that his little village of Ghulston had grown into a town but that did have a few drawbacks. The power of the Ghulstone was beginning to be spread thin across the growing population it needed to ward. He was still custodian of one of the three most effective keys needed to manipulate the seal. He just needed to find a way to present it to the Priests of Mortai along with instructions for how to deal with the matter.

As if reading his thoughts his loyal servant cleared his throat and piped up: “What about The Emissary?”

The Mayor smiled. Yes, the Emissary owed him a favour that would probably work and if it didn’t... well... that was just a different issue resolved.
