Just finished another garden single-length - the blood ent immune to all bar flaming axes absolutely pasted them and much fun was had by all. It's not the same as playing down the caves though, and I have a couple of young players absolutely desperate to get back down a cave / on a little overland.
I don't suppose there's any way to get anything working for them in the next month or two? Here's hoping! Stuart |

Are we any closer to getting young players up and running?
Or a timescale? D. |

I'm sure Duncan will respond officially.
Prior to yesterday's announcement he had set dates in mind for YP events for the rest of the year and was keen to see them back and running, Claudia and I had agreed to referee 4 of the 6 proposed dates. Yesterday's latest government announcement and restrictions that are due to be in place from Monday 14th September will make general operations of the caves even more restricted than they currently are and this will cause the need for all four areas to be in use to cover what would normally have been two adult adventures. This will mean that space and key requirements needed to host, manage and run YP's in a responsible and measured manner won't currently be available. Sadly this will mean a longer absence of YP events than we would have imagined and hoped when lock-down was first announced. As soon as it is feasible to do so I am confident Duncan and Labyrinthe will be keen to welcome our Young Adventurers back to Labyrinthe. -------------------- Gordon Court

Gordon has put this very well above,
feasibly while at 6 people max, young players just isnt viable. which i appreciate is a great shame. We are as Gordon says committed and keen to get young players underway again as soon as we can D |

It is a real shame that in the whole of the year of the rest of the year it's not possible to find even one half of one day (e..g. half term) where keen young players could pick up a hobby that gives us all so much fun. Time is so much more important when you're young, and I know it feels terribly unfair to them that adults continue with restrictions but there is no room at all for the under 16's.
Many of them will be tomorrow's monsters who will keep dozens of caves, overlands and extended lengths going with their energy and enthusiasm. I know the restrictions are difficult, but I'd urge Duncan to look again to see if there's any way something could be worked in. Stuart |

As Stuart has eloquently put, surely there must be a way of getting maybe one YP dungeon a month?
Maybe advance booking and if its not fully booked, say 12 days in advance the slot then gets turned over to an adult dungeon? BBB -------------------- Grey's Law: Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice...

Also I think under current provision of out of school activities for children, the maximum number of kids the government indicates is 15, not 6, and it appears two members of staff would be quite reasonable within the guidance.
There’s some notable recognition of the importance of out of school activities in maintaining kids mental health. Obviously there are risk assessments and requirements, but my two are so desperate to play again I wanted to raise it. Many thanks, Stuart |
