What have you been doing? Options

So, while your characters haven't been able to be out and about mercenaring, what have they been doing?

We all talk about "downtime" IC and CP hunt for businesses and farms and what not. We (at least try to be!) are more than a bunch of stats..... so... what have your characters been up to?

This is literally to get some ideas and role play going. I don't mean what player contracts have you somehow managed to complete. I know it's a weird concept to think of something without stats but I'm sure we can do it 😉


Aelithia, my St Michael priest has been travelling Primus. From the Baronies, she hasn't seen much so wants to explore all the places on offer. Especially Amlas.

Lao has been studying, mostly being twatted on the head with Tsu-Ling's staff as he learns the art of the Chi Warrior. Followed by moments of deep introspection and meditation upon a clifftop near Port Miere.

Grisgriel has been locked in the library in the cathedral at Alguz searching out ancient tomes and learnings. He is greatly enjoying the time spent in one place having spent much of the last 25 odd years as a travelling missionary. His researches have turned up some interesting discoveries (aka interesting apps passed by Lee) and his delvings into ancient learnings will hopefully enable me to justify the huge influx of points and abilities when we can start up again.

Trog meanwhile has just been eating and, having been killed by a combination of Pep and Penny, trying to avoid priests and disease.

Armitage: Is on leave from the Pathfinder Legion so enjoying ale and pies in rural Alguz, Little Hollow at the famous Pie Hole! Since earning a small dragon hoard he's bought the place and enjoying the spoils!

Grishnak: nomadic roaming of the Broken Lands looking to bring glory and influence to the Bloodcrusher tribe whilst having a headache trying to find a shaman and witchdoctor for the tribe!

Akki Solstrum has been wandering the Bildteve highlands, mostly, trying to ensure undead in the area are kept under control, and making sure that the locals know about Creduin’s Fury. Hopefully they are a bit thankful, and likely to be somewhat bored of his Misty-eyed speeches about the power and importance of the sun/sunlight.


Brok, Knight and Troll of the Broken Lands continues to focus on the teachings of Oll. He has spent innumerable hours (not that he was counting, even with .. some ability, better than most trolls...) trying to progress his stone balancing and cairn building to achieve perfectly balanced arches of pebbles. “Try it... it is really hard and strangely satisfying” to the odd passer by that enquires, smirk only partly hidden at this strangely peaceful rock troll’s antics.


Josiah Black misses the gambling dens of the Imperial Cities. It isn’t the same without the whoring, drinking and extravagant parties. But he did have a run in with some footpads that chased down a pretty merchant’s daughter who had won big that night. After saving her... an intervention that was so very out of character (but justified by her looks), he has spent the time reviewing priorities, falling in love, and finding some kind of weird spiritual ‘Avenue’ in the example of Radah. Indeed his soul moves a long way, from darkest night towards... something different.


And Hamish, priest of the totems and child of the bear spirit Ors, has spent a quiet few months in the wilds of the north. He has visited a few of the local tribes and been sought out as a healer by some. He ponders his next steps... should he build his bridge to the spirit world, practice his martial skills, or just spend the time gazing at the stars and pondering mysteries ... great and mostly small.

Max - hanging out in the Dale’s killing random hippo men, shark men and maybe a T. rex here and there. Although getting bored as it’s not as good as mercenary work.

Max’s returner - waiting eagerly for said hippo, shark or T-Rexes to kill max so he can unleash his power.

My fairly charming IC logic of "My Ritter Drachyul master takes 12 months to come back when hes killed, and thats when Im allowed to be a mercenary" comes in super clutch for this one. Kase is in a castle in the south listening to really long poetry recitals and ensuring the local villages are low on torches and pitchforks.
