Hey Folks,
Just come back from a drive-by at Polyapes - and one issued raised was some of the monsters were ill-equipped for the site (no plates/spoons/etc.) as they were unaware that they needed to bring any. Apparently they trawled through the forums but couldn't come accross anything specific - so I thought it might be a good idea if we had a forum containing any and all extended length sites (even the caves if you want) and the 'rules' for each. EG;- Polyapes;- Directions to the site featuring a google maps link, postcode for sat-navs etc. General rules of behaviour (no smoking in huts, clean up any trash, etc.) - moreso than the common sense/labyrinthe basic rules Necessities (Sleeping bag - warm clothing (minimal heating), Eating Equipment, towel, beer, towel again ) and then people can add to this with updates like, now has some pots and pans but will need serving bowls still, etc. Just thought it might be useful incase someone does a me and goes to monster a myths at bell cottage without a tent or sleeping bag ..... (for those not in the know - its the lake district - it's very windy and there is minimal facilties at the house for monsters - so they usually camp about a mile down the road - not fun if you're illprepared ) Dave |

I didnt mean that they weren't out there Jo !!! - Personally I saw them and ignored them as I was only driveby-ing
Just thought that it might be useful having all the site rules in one easy to find location. |

I think its a good idea to have a perm record of such things - so that way its not done over and over again -
Also when people book to play / monster /staff longer events when there form is received they get a confiormation email - that links to the forum for that site - MCC |

We can look to set these up over the next couple of months now that we're in the "off season" for extended lengths. Will also give us the opportunity of confirming the site bookings for next year (which Jo has been doing for the last couple of months) so we can put the details up for the sites that will be used Andy -------------------- Damn I love muggles

Not having any Elberethians I never read the Elbereth boards so missed all the stuff that was posted there. I agree its sensible to have a non IC group specific recording of the least required for extended length sites . Especially as its often some of the less experienced members of "Club Labby" who don't know their way around etc but without whom such events would be really tricky who need the odd pointer. Those of us old gray hairs who stuff up , like me for example, who don't bring a plate or cuttlery deserve the mockery we recieve but to quote Maud Flanders "Won't someone think of the Children"

I followed the list for things that the players needed, which meant that I had some things with me that weren't 100% necessary for monstering but would have been if I were playing. |
