So, as another year comes to an end, we thought this a good time to look towards next year with some updates and news.

Over the last year, there have been lots of events run at the caves, on overland sites and on our extended length sites. It has been great to see a good number of new faces at the caves, and we would like to take the opportunity to welcome all the new club members and we hope to be seeing more of you all over the coming year.

As always, if you have any specific feedback or comments about any of the below (or anything else Labyrinthe related) please feel free to contact any of us.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy Christmas and great new year.

Phil, Jo, Andy and Rach.

Pricing
We are pleased to be able to confirm that, for standard caves and overland events, there will be no price rise for the New Year. Similarly, the cost of points applications will remain unchanged.

Extended Lengths
We are also very pleased to be able to open up dates and bookings for next year’s extended length season. Following on from a number of discussions on the forums earlier in the year, there will be two different style of events. At Perth-y-Pia there will be traditional full cost myths (one for four days, and a second following immediately on for 6 days). At Candleston and Harmer Green there will be reduced cost myths and 3 days. The reduced cost events will be self catered, and have more limited budgets – this has enabled the pricing of these events to be kept as low as possible. We are providing both style of events, as one of the things that seemed apparent from the forum threads was that different club members want different things from extended lengths – the aim is that the two formats will provide the different experiences that will hopefully cater for most club members. Full details for Labyrinthe’s extended lengths can be found here.

The budget events do have a minimum credit payment. Whilst the deposit to secure a place on one of these events can’t be paid in credits, please be aware that, by booking, you will be committing to paying the minimum amount of credits by the final payment date. If a player is unable to meet the credit payment portion of the event, please be aware that it is possible that they will lose their booking. In such circumstances, the deposit would be non-refundable.

In previous years, we have endeavoured to be as flexible as possible to facilitate club members participating in extended length adventures. Unfortunately, this flexible approach has, in some cases, lead to significantly late payments. Additionally, any such flexile arrangements create a significant amount of additional administration, and can easily become confusing. As such, we will no longer be able to offer such flexibility. The only facility we will be able to provide in the coming year is for referee’s and mothers who wish to offset their pay with the cost of a different event.

Non-Combat Monsters
Following on from our review of extended length costs and budgets, accommodating bookings for non-combat monster/a-ref on an extended length may still be possible – however, next year any non-combat monsters/A-Ref’s involved in extended lengths will only receive half the normal amount of credits. If you wish to book to crew an extended length as a non-combatant, you will need to do so specifically via the booking line (explaining that you wish to book a non-combat space). There is no guarantee that such bookings will be possible.

Armoury
We are delighted to be able to announce that, early in the new year we will be taking delivery of almost a hundred new latex weapons into the armoury. These weapons have been made for Labyrinthe, with an exclusive basic design and colouring. These weapons represent a significant financial investment into the club , and we ask that all club members respect the new weaponry. Please treat them with care. Armourers will be instructed to track and inspect the new weapons specifically, to ensure no losses and minimal damage. The weapons have been manufactured by Primal Forge’s Canadian supplier, and as such we hope their robustness and quality construction will ensure they remain in good condition for a long time. Please be aware that the CMT will take a dim view of any club member not respecting the new weapons.

Booking Policy
There has been a number of discussions recently about bookings, and Labyrinthe’s booking policy. Additionally, as I am sure everyone will be aware, there has been a growing monster shortage problem over the last 6 months or so.

After extensive discussion and consideration, we are changing the booking policy, specifically with regards to player spaces and dungeon capping. In addition, we are introducing a ‘Play to Monster’ booking option.

We hope that this change will provide a higher degree of transparency to the booking policy, and that the PTM booking option will help to alleviate monster shortages.

Full details can be found here

New Player Offers.
We have trialled a variety of offers for new players, with varying degrees of success. There is a degree of confusion about the current offers and Labyrinthe’s exact position. As such, all previous offer’s are removed and the offer for new players, until further notice, is that they may play their first Labyrinthe caves event at half price. The half price offer may not be used with credits.
