As per the title -
For me best - charging solo as my priest of St Mich against a mummies and defeating them all but sadly dying to disease. (then Hoz doing a cheeky off dungeon rez so I could get my character back) Worse - being killed at the end of the dungeon just after time out had been called and the ref saying even though he didn't witness it, the kill still counted. Made no sense at all. -------------------- Marcos

I think in my *mumble* decades of playing I must have died just about every way possible although none that particularly annoyed me (beyond irritation at my incompetence).
I've managed to overcast a number of times, which is just incompetence. Once as Owl and Once as Tsu-Ling (that was a gamble on having regenned enough spirits to cast a miracle and not having the time in the encounter to stop and work it out) Comedy Deaths include: As Owl dying by 2 TBLP and working out at the battleboard that I actually had 1 spirit left (yep, enough for a Cure Wound) As Kei-Ry being goaded by Jan into randomly party killing Bruno's Imp - then exploding to the dying effect (something silly like 6 disruptions) Forgetting to Battleboard healing as my Berserker got me killed BBB -------------------- Grey's Law: Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice...
PS, Yes, I know my PM Box is full. Email me instead... (Which you can do through the forums email) |

I have two good deaths...
1). Island as a 15 year old playing my Hospitaler Sir John. Healing in the field hospital and came under attack, ran away and was brutally murdered from behind whilst falling down the bank. Never forget that day. First Island themeday and it was epic. 2). This years FD I enjoyed dying as Sh*t by over casting to complete the section. Lovely. Best, perm death near the end of chaos myths. Big bad (Lee D) that had brutally terrorised us all week turned up at the door of the cottage with two of his toughest henchmen. Playing my pacifist pixie wizard I vanished two necklaces covered in contact sleep 2, and caused them to reappear around the necks of the henchmen. And then stepped in front of Lee and asked him to kill me, which he gladly did, falling over for 5 mins to my dying effect (vanish animate for a year). All 3 lay there at the feet of the party, who spent the next 5 mins debating what to do!
That was the rebirth that first created Sirac, some 15 years ago now. Worst death, sure there have been others, but the one that leaps to mind was recent and also involves Mr Dale. playing my Uruk hai, I had been feared and watched as rest of the party got cut to pieces whilst I cowered. When finally cornered I raged into Lee and his monsters. 50/50 if I could have survived the fight, but within first few seconds my sword got knocked out of my hand, and spent the next minute or so fumbling around in the dark trying to find it whilst I got beaten to death. Cheers, Sean |

One more....playing my fire elf scout on a Shadow Pockets Guild Special and was murdered by Duncan playing murder in the dark - the git had taken his shoes off to ensure he made no noise.

On my first myths, I’d been away from the party doing something for some reason, and came back to find a room trapped with wardings. I managed to sneak over/wall tjrough most of them fine, got to the blinkered eye that was causing us issues, remove it safely and throw the skull away. In my victory, I threw the blindfold up into the air, to find that it was snap trapped with an anaths annihilation....

Best: Dying to the returner of a werewolf AP on a Perth y Pia 4 day having just taken down the whole pack inside my ‘Blizzard’. None of the rest of the party could see me or stand in my blizzard and I couldn’t harm a pure spirit undead.
Silliest: throwing my shield away by accident as I wasn’t gripping it properly as I parried a blow Worst: any where the monster is only focused on taking vitae as any part and doesn’t role play at all. Normally they have a sword in on hand and a mace in the other -------------------- Andy

As Haruld I went down the line of 5 warriors total healing them...... only to find that there were 6 demons.
As Will's cavalier's butler I seconded him in an agreed duel when he was ooc unwell. I stood there and died. Next morning I woke him with a cup of tea and the phrase "I'm sorry Sir - I appear to be dead." As Kerth being part of a group that killed the ENORMOUS corpse only to have our cunning scouts displace in the "Corpse Buster" caches (5 of them!) under it's foot as it fell over dead. Killed me, one other and decked several more. Umnar was fine though. :-) Tactical use of Avenging Spirit by Kerth to drop a big baddie. Tim. |

Best(s)
countless over castings because I know I've run out of power but you went owchie Eons ago in a time called the 90's playing a Cavalier just turned 8th on a Max 1k, party consisted of Me, a vivomancer, an Elysian Paladin. a monk of Panama and a warrior (i think). 1st section of 3 ended when we were offered shelter by a priest for the night, then the 2nd section started with the whole town in ash with the Priest that sheltered us dead, with just his rib cage and weapon left, so the honorable Monk and goodly paladin wanted to loot the corpse, a few encounters later the warrior needed a Rez, the paladin using guild ability (no candles i think) done started the rez. the female Vivomancer was sure that he also needed a protection. One Deathknight inbetween a Cavalier and a Woman (the old Chivalry code), and one Pure Necro quad or ToD whichever is worse later i was toast. Reffed by Bruno, and Deathknight by Bluebottle, or was other way round *shrug* -------------------- J - The thing known as Dog

On a 9 day in the lake district.
A certain Panama chi perfect black hand monk crosses an all power base change alignment line and becomes CE. I comm to find a way to get him back. "stay up all night and do some ritually stuff"so I did and then went back to bed at 6ish am. early next morning we are attacked and as I lie there Paul Bayliss comes into the bedroom doing triple (I am AC12) I say to him "just kill me my autores kicks in after 8 hours I will have a nice kip thanks"so about 50 blows later I am well and truly dead. I settle in for a nice sleep when the scumbag Fisher walks in and says my auto rez kicks in immediately. I suggest that the YP states 8 hours and thanks to Mr Power I need sleep. David then conscious slaps me that the party need my comms or they will all die. I get up and regret the 20% sleep ploy that failed!! :-( |

Couple of funny ones.
Spellbound Myths - 1999 - as Branwen. Fighting a bad guy named 'Creed' who could only be killed with a certain sword. Mithaniel steps up with the sword. fights... dies. Toldar steps up, picks up the sword off Mithaniels body. Dies. I step up, pick up the sword, kill the bad guy (I was doing double) I get so relieved, I throw the sword down... as I get assassinated by the chameleoned assassin by the house that only I could see. St Michael Guild Special - Altar of War, guesting as Remstar Fighting bad guys where the demons have last hit mantic total heal. They com, realise I am the only one who can cast mantic total heal. Send an assassin to kill me - I had run out of power by this point and die. Returner of Spirit of Mantic Total Heal pops up... Although, not quite as good as Tavis talking me into perm death. Not quite a death, but a near party wipe on the Belt myths - I cast a Haven at the main house at Perth Y Pia while Craigy and I sit wondering what to do while the monsters take advantage of med. We can't discuss plans as the monsters are in the living rooms so we go and hide in a shower to discuss our escape plan. Miles shouts over the shower 'Don't forget, you can't discuss anything hostile' - we weren't - just working out how to escape. And finally, Sebastian on a 3 day. A wave of spirit of Befriend Spirits. One of them had a bastard sword and did Quad. Who knew. Carlo |
