The people of rural Bildteve close to the Broken Lands spoke in hushed tones of an array of Goblins, Orcs, Trolls and even an Ogre or two were seen travelling through the wilds in dribs and drabs over the later part of the week but all seemingly heading in the same direction.

The hills and jagged stone valleys of the north east crescent of the Broken Lands echoed long through the day and night with the sounds of drums, the sound picked up and returned as numerous tribes struck their own stretched skins in reply.

The drums issued a challenge and it sounded far and wide across the landscape as the challenge was answered.

The creatures of the tribes sharpened their teeth, drew their woad and battle paint across their bodies, tended their armour, donned their grisly trophies, gave praise and worship to their totems and beseeched them for their blessings and their chosen champions stood vigil with their tribes as the darkness of the night grew.

At the dawn the games would commence.

Elsewhere within the Broken Lands conflict between the tribes occurred when Trolls came to territory of the Stonescale Brood. The Hobgoblins of the Brood were initially surprised when the Trolls came with gifts to lavish upon their totem and more so when they spoke clearly and with an intelligence that belayed their heritage. However, the gifts included a trap which imprisoned their Totem and when the brood saw the treachery they sought to overwhelm the Trolls but their strength was too little for the potent might the Trolls displayed and many were felled as they fought clear of the Brood’s territory.

The truth of the matter was uncovered when a varied amalgamation of tribal creatures with a small group of civilised onlookers, or potential slaves, in tow were drawn into the territory of the Brood. Discovering many of the Brood slain and raised as strange skeletal forms clad in stone they found their way to the point of the Trolls trap. There they found the Totem trapped by its own power and ventured into the prison to seek to break the chains that trapped and held the Totem.

Later that day the Totem Stonescale was seen alive and well crossing through the Broods territory gathering the scattered and surviving tribe members of the Stonescale Brood back together. However the tribal wanderers and their entourage never returned to the land from the Trolls’ trap they bravely or perhaps foolishly entered.

Elsewhere stories of a gigantic black wolf galloping across the wilds with a mud covered goblin riding on its back emerged. The tales spoke that a number of other creatures were clutched in its jaws while others were hanging on to its fur for dear life. Heard around various campfires of the Broken Lands across a number of the races that dwell there, some said it was an omen, others that it was simply tales of little goblins with not enough to keep they busy, but others nodded sagely and spoke of how its thunderous howl had haunted them in their dreams.

One thing that was agreed on across the camp fires was the OG had returned to the world before the fading sun dipped below the horizon that day at a great tribal feast celebrating the victors of the games. Rumours are he passed on something of great significance before setting off to chase the sun once more.
