I will make sure I learn the Plasma Bolt spell, though I fear Joshua will not thank me.
I currently have the pieces, Bede entrusted them to me, I will work on a translation, I also know of a safe place where they can not be discovered nor scryed about until we need them again. Just so people understand how being dishonoured works: the manner in which the Oryx tribe managed to acquire the piece they had. When the seal was broken a small boy ran off with it deep into the tunnels. He hid, but the Oryx managed to corrupt him, causing him to commit acts of dishonour such that when he passed on they were able to seize the piece. The danger lies in that the pieces we have are now sullied - they can not simply be passed to someone honourable. They can now be retrieved. As I understand it, the only way to change this is for the person who possessed them (Bede) to regain his honour, the only way we know of to do this is to commit ritual suicide. I am not advocating this for a moment, as the oni still have to take the pieces from us. I will provide a translation shortly, though the fragments do not fit neatly together, so it will be somewhat piecemeal. S. |

Merry Meet, and Blessed Be!
Unfortunately i will be unavailable when you next travel, however I am happy to brew some double strength curatives for cost price, or anti venoms should anyone desire them. Do let me know. Perhaps we should spread the parts of the tablet about next time just in case more dishonourable acts are committed. Or rather than spread them about entrust them to someone who will not commit dishonourable acts. Agreed, I think there were 3-4 of us that did not commit dishonourable acts. Being one of those, I'd rather not carry any (would need a bag and I don't carry one) but I would be more than happy for the others to do so.
We have two tribes left to visit. Does anyone have any preferences as to who we see first? Perhaps we should go to the tribe in most danger? (If we are able to discover that) Bayden. Just to be clear - the scrying we did whilst within the tunnels revealed that the ones currently in our possession have been tainted by dishonour - we can not simply give them to someone who is honourable/has not committed dishonourable acts. By all means - should we retrieve the final two - then give them to members of our group who are not tainted, but the ones we have, that were held by Bede are stained by his dishonour. I mean this in no way to disparage him, most of us did what we did to traverse the warding.
The danger is simply that the oni will try to take them from us. |

Well if I come along next time the Oni will have a problem taking the broken tablet off me.
I have the spells Bolting of Light already and the Light Range. Morden OOC adventure is full like the last one but with a full set of monsters and a ref maybe I can sneak on ?? |

OOC - I'd ask Lee/CMT as there maybe a waiting list. Hopefully you get on though.

Maybe we need to hunt the shadow as soon as we get there, it seemed extremely dangerous to me we don't want it ambushing us at an inopportune moment. Perhaps we need to bathe it in light to weaken it? Again I can't really scry about it because I cannot see through the layer of murk around the place.

Bede Given we will be hard pressed to visit both tribes, collect parts, translate tablet once whole and decide what we need to do with them, pretty sure we won't have time to track and hunt the Living Shadow. Besides we are a threat so whatever creature/demon controls the Living Shadow will mostly likely ensure it finds us or keeps it close to hand for protection. Plus the tunnels are long and widespread so it might be like tracking a shadow in the dark. We just need to make sure we stick together as a group and that we save some power to deal with it. Others might disagree but time will be precious . Happy to go with majority though if others feel the need to hunt the Living Shadow. Bayden (OOC - Think we may need as much time as possible to gain parts of tablet etc so not sure we will have time to hunt first) |

Bede,
Your intentions/plans are more clear now you have clarified your previous statement from hunting to scrying. Scrying is as ever a good idea, but unless the Living Shadow is on our way to somewhere we need to go, I wouldn't want to go elsewhere to find it. Again I am happy to go with majority as previously stated. Perhaps once we are in the tunnels we could scry about its current location, if its aware we were back in the tunnels, what its intentions are (either knowing we are there or not) and any strengths or weakness it may have. It might be we don't need to go anywhere near it, it maybe its on way to one of tribes grounds, it maybe hunting us when we arrive, it maybe happy staying where we found it (though doubtful), or it may now be controlled by the very thing we seek to trap/destroy and acting as his bodyguard. We know roughly how to destroy it, white/light magics. I imagine we could destroy parts of it but only kill it with white/light magics. If we have misfortunate of being confronted by creature again, as long as everyone supports each other and tackles creature head on, as a group we should be capable of defeating it. In regards to scrying, you will need some form of seeing through the supernatural darkness that now fills the tunnels. The remaining tribes are currently all ok, they aren't stupid and have defences against demons in place, so going to see either tribe is a good option at the minute though if we do perhaps we need a different approach to tackling their wardings and not removing them like we did Starsday where possible. The living shadow is no longer bound to the altar (as we removed the tablet part it was guarding) so could be anywhere in the tunnels. Scrying when we arrive may give us more information as long as whoever does it can see within the darkness. Bayden. Well when I say hunt I mean scry to be honest and then go straight there, however if you want to suddenly be ambushed by the toughest thing we have encountered so far then fine!
