Xeno,

I am not a necromancer

You may try me and prove me, every undead I summon

I never said you were evil, I said you were a Necromancer, a person who practises the art of Necromancy, the art of communicating with and summoning the dead. You do this, yet you proclaim yourself to not be such. You misrepresent yourself. This is why following to Code of Ivory is a simpler path, people know who you are and do not mistake you for something else.

For instance, good or evil, the undead you summon would be abhorrent to the like of the Raven Priests or the Faith of Mortai. They are undead, no matter what dressing you put on them.

Be what you are and let that shine forth, don't pretend to strap titles you haven't earned to yourself. you only make a fool of yourself.

Good luck forward Rangar, try not to make an enemy of us.

Hey guys!

Usual crew call out, but with a twist!!!!

Both the Council of Jade (Ref: Duncan - 5250) and Children of the Dusk (Ref: Rob B - 3k) are in dire need of an Aref and crew right now and I'd like to ask for them both of people can help. So if you think i've done you a favour in the past or just want to get your own back on my unreasonable ref stats, please consider signing up for one of the above dungeons.

Many thanks

The Brief should be done by the organiser, please look for that else where, but will be putting non standards here for ease:

Lava - Deals a Natural fire shock (12/12) to every location touching it every 2 secs and continues to do so if removed from Lava for 10 secs afterwards unless removed from the body or cooled somehow.

Molten Scream - Domination effect, commands target to flee as per fear, Immunity to fear does not apply.

Bare Fangs - Physical Mortality (Lasts 1 min)

Nice and simple.

Hey all!

Was musing this with some people the other day: Whats the best party size?

I personally find that 12 people is often the case of "being lost in the crowd", both in usefulness to a group and personal interaction, and that there is far less challenge. I'd say ideally 8 people feels more like a group where people matter rather than just "meat" and a sense of camaraderie amongst people just trying to survive grows. More often than not I find that character bonds form stronger in these enviroments.

Thoughts?

The more and more I look at it as I write this, the less and less this dungeon works in an overland facility. So if it does move to an overland I will likely run something entirely different and save this for another time. So I really hope for storyline the caves is open sad.gif

As I said to Elisabeth, before she made this post, best to be ready for what happened last weekend rather than have to repeat it. Hopefully the caves will be open, as given the dungeon is a spelunk through some lava tubes, I don’t think a cold winter morning at a overland site would do it justice, so I would much rather the caves also. But a dungeon is a dungeon after all.

Regardless of the crew slots being filled, if there are people who want to come and crew this, feel free to arrive (at the caves if it's open or the overland site if it's not) and pick up kit and smash our heroes around a bit. If you want to "book on" ahead of time, just lead me know here and consider yourself booked smile.gif

Wish I could make the next one, but will be happy to put my comms to use for the brief if needed.

Ok last few things you guys asked and I had thought about have resolved themselves.

Nala: Your Vision.
The outcasts are tribeless men who became theives and brigands. They had become the worst of us, even worse than tribes who leech off others since they don't even have a tribe for support.

The survivor is no more important than the next person he just was lucky enough to live and claim the box. The boxes contents are hidden from me in shadows but the box and it's markings identify it as the sort usually used to contain dangerous relics.

The fortress you saw is the one we will be travelling to and the claws represent the power of "Gallaenar"

As to what all this means, it seems it is images of things that you may perceive as dangerous and your innate sense of danger. I would guess that the survivor is likely to have at some point passed the box to the force we are going against or it rests in the fortress and we will need to be wary of encountering "Gallaenar" or an aspect of his power.

Gunndrick: Your question.

Freeing them is preferable, they are men of the north after all. But if it cannot be achieved then death is better than enslavement to men of the North.

Penny: Your question.

There will be a ritual binding the totem that needs to be disrupted within the fortress. I suggest someone with spiritual power look into what is needed, my musings at a distance will prove ineffective. Closer I can work on it.

Well, hope that helps us out and settles your minds.

Currently pondering your questions guys, but I have resolved my investigations now and came to the following conclusions:

That our best route of attack to a force the size of the one in the fortress, is to employ stealth and surprise, they do not know we are coming and a sneak attack at smaller portions of the army would be best to whittle them down.

I looked at the possibilities of attacking outside the fortress in ambush points but that would be foolish, they would travel a a large force that would overwhelm us, however looking into the make up of the Fortress it requires a group of this size to bunk up in separate areas of the structure, so we could take out smaller portions more efficiently at the location.

Also given the fact that a huge majority of the army is being oppressed the "alliance" they have is factious at best, I believe we can also take major advantage of this disparate nature of the army in our assault.

For now I think other than the answer to your question I have yet to consider, this is as much information as I can gather before you meet me in Cairn's Deep.

Hi Lomo!

You probably don’t remember me, but I have been told I have one hell of a memory, and I definitely remember you, from my early days. Making friends, that’s not so true is it, I remember you complaining about how rubbish Bronze mana was and how much more reliable the spirits were at “making friends”. Enslaving people to your will is not making friends, even if you make them be friends with you after.

My people rely on the stories of the past to teach the young and many a story was told of the dark days of the First Evil, and exactly how bad this faith was to the world, like them or not the Empire is right to outcast your faith.

I was concerned about you and your motives then, I distrust you now, approaching us with half truths and veiled and evasive lies. I know for one that I would not like to see the North dancing to your tune, but maybe if you came with openness and sincerity my thoughts of you would be less narrow. And I am a very hard to lie to person Mr Lomo, and I haven’t even begun to use divinations yet.

Okay, the last few things I was thinking about resolved themselves:

The fortress has no real significance beyond being a convenient resting place for a force of that size,

We will need to nullify the force before they set out to Cairn's Deep or it will be lost, how we do this is based on our abilities at hand

and

The interest that the Storm Crows hold for Cairn's Deep is for some unknown ritual significance, beyond that there is nothing of real interest here, beyond it's old age.

Hey all,

I've spent the last few months in Cairn's Deep, been doing some deep thinking and talking with the Cairn itself and I've come to a strange conclusion: the large cairn that the village is named after has no lore or memory connected to it. As we know northern tribes exist for glory, so every skirmish and minor hero is recited in tales and songs. With Major events and heroes being celebrated in permanent ways, which is why having such a large structure uncelebrated is most strange. If I had to guess, I would say it is from the first age. There are signs that there was a fairly large fight here some time within the last year which was followed by some excavations.

So to recap for those who have forgotten or weren't in attendance, we were called in a dream to the village of Cairn's Deep, by the entity known as "The Heart of the Blizzard" or "The Guardian of The North".
The village had been conquered rather than raided in the normal northern style. At first we suspected a group I had thought about known as the Storm Crows, who we crafting a ritual to assail the North on the behest of a creature known as "Gallaenar". However it turned out the group we encountered was the Blood Wolf tribe.
We attacked the village and defeated the Blood Wolf warriors who had occupied it, we then discovered a ritual that had been set up in the druid's grove to attack the ley line. We did however find that the Village defenses were weakened by us removing the current Crow's Wife because of the route of undeath she had chose to travel and that the Druids in the area had been wiped out, further weakening the areas supernatural strength.

We reversed the ritual and having discovered the Blood Wolves has been enslaved and bent to the will of the Storm Crows made our way to the Storm Crow camp, destroyed the ritual dominating the local wolves and drove off the remaining crows thus freeing the wolves. We claimed the hill fort as a guild hall and tasked the newly freed Blood Wolves with maintaining it.

So on to recent events;

Since Octuar I been roaming the North until the snow forced me to hunker down in Cairn's Deep Village for the deepest part of the Deathly, however during this time I have learned the following:

As the Deathly receded and people began to move around more freely, I learned of a large force of warriors that was making its way towards Cairns Deep but got caught in the snow and sought refuge within an ancient fortress a couple of weeks travel from the village. The force seems to be made of predominantly Blood Wolves although other tribes are present, they are lead by a Storm Crow officer corps and intend to retake Cairn's Deep. They began gathering supplies and strength and have neared completion of this task. I did seek out a way to slow this down or prevent it, but it seems my efforts were too late.

The village struggled through the winter with no druid or crow wife but with the help of the freed Blood Wolves and myself they have endured. The Blood Wolves themselves split their time between the village and the hill fort as requested. The Guardian of The North has began the process of acquiring a new druid to lead the conclave that was wiped out and that vacuum of power will be filled in time, however the loss of the Crow's Wife has had a bigger impact than intended, The problem with the Crow Wife is her fiery death was entirely unexpected. Normally they coach their successors, her unexpected demise might mean that the village is cursed. Arranging a replacement would be the greatest help but probably require more time and effort than we can muster this weekend alone

While not all of us have been revisited by the Guardian, it is apparent that one of us (at least) has been spoken to by her, although I cannot see who that is.

If there is anything anyone whats me to find out for them, let me know. If not I have a few inklings in the air and will get back to you when there bear fruit.

should there be nothing more, I'll meet you at Cairn's Deep for what seems to be a hell of a fight to come.

Given that the Fire/Lava path has been taken, it will require player effort both on and off dungeon. Resources, contacts, business cards and the like, put them to use. The Lava tubes currently have Lava flowing within them and if nothing is done before time it, they will continue to do so, while this is fine for people like Lizzy, who have immunity to fire and can survive within the lava and fire tube, there may be people who cannot and that will make for a boring day for those people.

So put your heads together and find your way round this conundrum. I will happily take questions, comms up the day. just PM me or FB if you have me.

Snow -

First off thank you for Assisting Lord Rufus in arranging musters this past year.

In a past nomination a previous nominee who had also not been a knight for very long was questioned about why they thought they were qualified or worthy enough to lead the Knights when they were relatively inexperienced as a Knight, Why do you feel you are qualified to lead the knights and what do you believe your qualities were that led you to be nominated by more experienced Knights, and also what would your plans be to drive the knights going forward over the new year..

Tristan Du'lac

Imrazi's Vessel
Sword of Imrazil

As I was considering asking this very question, considering the smear campaign that happened in the event that Tristan is referring to and would very much like to see as to why this year a person who is barely a year into his Knighthood would not only be suggested but also feel it appropriate to stand as our Lord Knight?
