The notary gently placed the scroll down upon the desk, dust rising and falling like a decrepit chest. Unrolling it carefully and placing crystalline spider paperweights on each corner he began to address the Gentlemen and Matrons gathered.

"I wont keep you long. My client understands how insignificant he is in the current Court.

It is with pleasure on my client's behalf that I can provide this proof of bloodline. I am grateful for the letters that you have all kept safe for so many years, I don't have to argue with anyone, your own annals give validity to the claim."

Hoods were cast back, a wand traced out a path upon the Family Tree. A withered, yet living finger followed another line, leaving the gossamer sheen of spidersilk.

"It is as you say." The elderly Matron intoned in obvious displeasure, "Cyanosis is of House Gorthanorag. He is the third son to Prince Gorthanorag. He is of noble blood."

The Notary looked pleased at such a rapid first assent.

The heavy set features of one of Deci's finest coughed.

"That's lovely that is. He can get himself a coat of arms and all that. But, with my knowledge of the lines I can tell you now, Prince Cyanosis is of foreign lineage. It means nothing. The Great Freedom doesn't include him. He commands no obedience here. Remind him of that!"

The notary quietly nodded. The second assent.

"Well. Not one to be left out of the wrangling of someone's future allow me to congratulate the young Prince. I always thought you Drowe staked your claim to title by intrigue and dagger. So, it's nice to have one that would rather send a letter that isn't a poison one. Besides, he's quite funny and dresses well. Tell the Scion of Gorthanorag Deci is his new home. He can start paying taxes like exiled royalty."

The notary gave a comfortable smile at the completion of his task.

"I thank you all for your time. I will return to my client and tell him how positive he has been received." The Notary backed out of the room like a wary insect.
