Apologies for the intrusion, but I was hoping your faith might be able to assist in a query arising from the ongoing work to bring Port Miere back to Primus.

As part of our efforts we have found record of some non Primal divinities from a now shattered world, and a poem stating them to have been created "on the echoes of the word / in destruction's wake". A Word was spoken and at the same time, although not as a result, the world these beings were from was shattered. We're trying to get hold of the Book of Words from the Dawn, but I thought there was a chance that something in your Church's teachings might be relevant here.

If I remember rightly, your faith teaches that a number of Words were spoken by the Creator in the act of Creation. I would very much like to know what these were -by which I mean the common names given to them such as Creation, Destruction, and so on, not the True Words of Power or anything like that, if these are even known. If there is an easily accessible scripture or written document detailing your faith's creation story then that would be even more helpful.

If I am wrong and this is in fact a teaching of the faith of the Creator, I regret the confusion - I am aware there is some religious difference of opinion but I do not know the details and am not seeking to offend.

Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Hello
I am not aware of any tome connected to Michael's faith, or it's parent Church of the Creator, wherein these Words are recorded. It isn't part of our theology, as you put it, to include Destruction as part of Creation. There is a sect who worship the Creator in that manner, but they are no longer a part of this church. We do hold sacred - and abhorant -
certain names; the true name of the Creator on the one hand, and the true name of the Destroyer on the other. These are words of power, as are all true names. I don't believe they are commonly recorded, although those higher in Michael's grace than I may know better. In my experience it is plain upon hearing them spoken what it is you have heard, and so they are not often written down.

What with the world being what it is, one is forced to accept that there are many truths, even some which appear to be contradictory. I have heard several creation myths in my time and seen proof that more than one of them is correct. I think it was Hieronymous Rad who said that 'Belief creates Archaeology'.

I think it's a linguistic issue - if one uses a different language to express an idea, it is largely impossible to directly translate and so the listener's perception of reality is changed. Given that we each have in our world view a unique 'language' and that reality is very much defined by our perception, we can see that all these things can be true, and not true, at the same time.

I'm not sure that helps much, but there you are.

Thanks Gaxx, I was trying to avoid offending anyone and didn't know if the idea of Destruction as the Second Word of Creation was one held by your faith or the followers of the Creator who were active as mercenaries a few years back; I think from what you say its them, so I might try and see if they can shed any light on the subject.

I'd agree with you about the several truths, though; I think the belief and archaeology idea is attributed to Hieronymous Rad, extrapolating on Corven from the 700s. Makes the whole thing proper complicated, especially since if I remember correctly the ability to perceive more than one truth can exist is limited to certain types of people, on Primus anyway, and that's without even getting into that idea about the commonfolk turning into pigs in convergences which even if true is so offensive it shouldn't be. This sort of thing is why I would have made a terrible scholar, but if you ever happen to find yourself in the Penal Legion (a fate I sincerely hope you avoid), I'd be happy to chat about it.

If it's helpful there are various "words of power" which almost act as keys to the Angelic realms and the heavens themselves. I generally invoke various words of harmony when summoning the angels. However, these are not unique to our faith although they may well be used by others who summon the angels.

Thank you Father Savage

I don't think angels are directly involved with the Word or its Echo, although there is a curious matter of these non-Primal divinities persisting, along with their angels, in the absence of any surviving mortal followers, which is usually a really bad thing for gods in Primus (the Namer War and so on).
