This year sees us reach the 20th Anniversary of the very first Final Dawn event which was envisioned and delivered by Jan McManus in what was a truly ground-breaking format.

In the tradition of the first and the many since this is intended as a multi-level, multi-party event.

The ideal intention is to produce an event for four parties across the 10k points spread with splits envisioned as such.

Lows – Max 1.5k – Reffed by Claudia Dauppe
Mids – Max 4k – Reffed by Grant Wills
Highs – Max 7k - TBC
Ultras – Max 10k – Reffed by Lee Dale

Without wanting to give anything away I want people to be unafraid to be involved in the event while playing lower points characters, as such for the low section the threshold will not rise above the 1500 points advertised and we hope we have to found ways to overcome some of the barriers to enjoyment players of lower points characters may have perceived on past Final Dawns.

But what is it all about?

Overall, it’s a surprise but plot is out there, and characters have been exposed too, brushed against and even engaged with a number of the myriad threads we will be weaving together over the course of the event and more will do so over the final quarter of this year.

Can I get involved before the event itself as a player?

Yes, while there has already been an open initial Max 3000 Lead Up run.
There is a second pair of events to be run on Sunday 10th November one as a Max 3000 and a Max 5250 Initially the second Lead Up was to be on Saturday 23rd November but due to the now clash of the rescheduled 3 Day event we have brought it forward

The fact Gordon is also the Master referee for the three party “Amlas Day” on the 7th of December it is safe to assume this may have some bearing on the event and part of the master plan.

Can I get involved as a referee?

Yes! If you are running an event between now and the end of December speak to Gordon and/or Lee in advance, tell them where your event is set and give them a rough idea of the idea of your event and if there is relevant information they can provide for you to include or take into account they will.

Additionally if you are going to Referee over the next few months and need some pointers we could have some briefing documents available to help you write and tailor your event that let you play with one or more of the threads being woven.

Can I get involved as part of the referee team?

Again this is a yes. We currently still need to confirm the fourth member of the section ref team, so if you think you could work with the current team get in touch with Gordon or Lee and discuss with them directly.

Added to this we would love to get our A-ref teams confirmed and set as early as possible so if you fancy working on bringing an challenging and interesting event to life and being the MVP’s then again step up and sign up and feel free to talk to Gordon and Lee about the roles.

The Details:

Cost: The cost of each day is £65, with a cash minimum of £20. £180 if playing all three days.

Payments Due: By Sunday 8th December

Player rewards are: Maximum of 165pts per day, ISP awards, Prestige to be accumulated, Campaign Points to be earned, World Points to be unleashed. Monster points may be added at the start of the event for each day being played.

Monster rewards are: 18 credits, 80 MPS and a Themeday “Make Slot” per day.

Booking: There are 2 ways you can book to play the event, first with a confirmed monster for the same days you are playing, this guarantees you a spot on the event. The second is to be added to the waiting list, when we have enough monsters to open a playing spot you will receive an email confirming your booking.

If you just want to monster, that would be great as well, just email to be added into the crew list and what days you are booking for.

All bookings for the event should be sent to Bookings@labyrinthe.co.uk and indicate what section you want to book for.

Character Choice: Personally I want as many people to get the maximum enjoyment possible while being actively engaged and interested, for the duration of the event.

This means if you are considering a character that would seek to derail the event, achieve personal victories at the expense of the majority of other players, or actively engage in party killing you should just not play that character and rethink your character choice.

Ultimately, we are adults who will be spending our holiday time with a hobby we love, just be sensible.

As ever Rule 7 applies, and if in doubt you can speak with the Master Referee over your choice.
