Labyrinthe Forum _ Mistbound _ Brief - 8th & 9th July

Posted by: Gordon Jul 1 2017, 03:02 PM

Mercenaries,

The Empire seeks your aid. Under the behest of the Inquisition of the Glorious Empress hire is offered to those vitae blessed individuals for both Starsday 8th July and Sunsday 9th July.

Following the movement of Port Miere into Mittlenacht for its own protection at the Dawn a number of anomalies have been located and mapped within the city. Excellent work by mercenary groups with varying personnel has seen the investigation and resolution of a number of those anomalies associated with places and structures of significance. Work continues under the auspice of Inquisitor Wilton towards addressing these remaining anomalies.

My continued task is to assist Inquisitor Wilton and support all additional actions required from the Eastern Waystation to further accelerate the pace of resolutions within port Miere.

As previously noted anomalies outside of those places of significance have been placed within my sole remit. The current anomalies of concern are:

#26
Location: Eastern Wall
Nature: Planar Weakness
Notes: The streets near the wall have become partially flooded and the water level has been rising despite all attempts to channel it away.

#27
Location: Houses by the Eastern Wall
Nature: Unknown
Notes: A number of dwellings have become full of a supernatural mist leaving them uninhabitable. Creatures formed of mist have been occasionally seen floating through the streets nearby.

#31
Location: Lone Pier at the Docks
Nature: Temporal
Notes: Understood to have a ship known as the Mist Wraith, from the time of Kesselharn, docked at the pier. The Mist Wraith is a nethervessel crewed by the unliving and believed to be the anchor itself.

#36
Location: Tooth shaped building by Citadel
Nature: Convergent
Notes: Understood to an Embassy for the City of Keys, believed to be its Secundal Reflection rather than the now destroyed Primal city. The anchor is believed to be a coral crown in possession of the Embassy’s most senior delegate. Etheric, spectral processions have been seen leaving the structure drifting through the streets towards the docks before fading away, over the past weeks the sight had become more commonplace and those catching sight of them say they are becoming more real and less ghostlike.

#38
Location: Set of Warehouses by the Docks
Nature: Convergent & Temporal
Notes: Twin anomalies are housed here. A confusing convergence of a structure that that until recently stood within rural Keys, within sight of the city walls, with the perceived Secundal refection of the same place. The Temporal anchor is thought to be a place spirit of the Secundal Reflection while the Convergent anchor is an amulet known as the Sun Droplet believed to be still within the anomaly.

#39
Location: Set of Warehouses by the Docks
Nature: Convergent
Notes: Twin anomalies are housed here. An attempt to scry on the anomaly using the threat map resulted in the users eyes seemingly bubble and dissolve away in an near instant and their skin being horrifically scarred by the resultant liquid that ran down their face. No further scrying has been attempted.

All mercenaries with previous experience of the complexity of the Port Miere situation either from the Dawn or with investigations since are openly welcomed with their knowledge.

Hire will be offered by myself from within the shielded chamber of the Eastern Waystation.

Prompt arrival by the 10th hour is expected to ensure relevant preparations and investigations can be made through Inquisitional tools made available to you.

Additional resources of the Inquisition continue to be made available to support these missions and reward those that assist accordingly, specific requests for requisitions can be made and will be considered fully.

Will the Inquisition be paying the usual fee for a decent written report from the (in)famous Slush Fund? I ask because I'd like to read a decent written report (the last one was excellent), not because I am likely to be let out to attend, regrettably.

All my reports are available should anyone wish to read them, but having glanced at the anomalies there doesn't seem to be an immediate connection. The one thing I would suggest is checked before departure is that one of the warehouses by the docks was being used by the followers of Louhi / Certizal - I doubt its one of those under investigation here, and in any event I think the alfari have made some assaults on that place, but might be worth checking.

Baroness,

The reference to additional resources within my hiring notice does indeed allude to the fiscal budget that has attained near mythical status within the mercenary community. Such resources does include the reward for full written reports.

The funds for the report of the first expedition under my remit have been signed off and are sitting here awaiting collection by the esteemed mercenary writer.
