A selection of reports from within the Jade Empire following a recent gathering of the Panama family:
QUOTE It is with pleasure that the Emperor of Jade gifts the Village of Ruby River to the Panama family to be administered by them and ruled over, becoming part of the Lu-Chang Province. Their hard work and dedication to resolving the issues around the former Lord Herrico's Seppuku and the failure of it to cleanse his soul is appreciated and the Emperor is sure all within the land will be honoured that the family is providing such assistance. QUOTE Bandits? Yes Bandits in the Jade Empire. Across the Empire Banidtry is on the increase. Lone figures are now banding together, the tribes from the South joining the disgraced and striking against caravans and anything they can find. What can be behind this? QUOTE Disgrace for the Panama and Snake Clans? A trader from the Panama lands, My-Li, has been found murdered. His body was found in the Lands of the Snake clan, tortured to death. Word is spreading that she was captured for thievery and demanded her right to trial by a Samurai. When the penalty was given she disagreed with it and demanded her right to commit Seppuku. Arguments were made that the family could simply refuse such, but to do so would be an insult to the honour and rights of all within the Empire. Instead of allowing her to leave and commit Seppuku when the Emperor gave permission they took her away, and all evidence said allowed her to be tortured to death. How can this be allowed? Is it true? What happened? Following these reports, rumours began to spread wildly. The Jade Empire had been free of particularly stern mercenary action for several months, a fact which no one was overly distraught about. Was there to be a new outbreak of disturbance? Would they not be able to continue in peace? Probably not. This is Primus, after all. -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
