Do you want to know what is going on in Waterveil?
Rather than write about what we did and trials we faced, I thought I would try and fill in some of the blanks after we found out lots of things that were linked So here we go… A while ago 3 nice witches looked after Waterveil and made sure the village and its people came to no harm. Sadly, they grew old and had no-one to pass their wardenship onto so they decided to make a huge sacrifice and peform a ritual that would bind themselves to the village for all time as its guardians. They bound themselves as follows: The first crafted a lantern to ward away dark power and imbued it with the last remnants of their own spirit such the power would not fade. The second warded and shrouded their dwelling, a place of power and purity, away such that it would not be interfered with, casting more power than they could wheiled and thus their own life force into the rites so they last eternally. The third bound themselves to the power, the place and the blood of the land that is Waterveil as a whole and remained as a living spirit known to Primus as Waterveil’s Sacrifice to watch over Waterveil and ensured it lived on. Now the ritual we failed to stop was called “The call of the Kraken” and it summoned a right evil beast from the depths that actually consumed the place spirit of Waterveil. It was summoned by a man called Raggort, once apprentice to Comair Squire of Siren’s Perch. He had previously been thwarted doing this rite at Siren’s Perch and thought Waterveil would be a good place to try again. Now the pirates in the village are helping him. The Captain and Navigator knowingly and the rest of the crew unknowingly. So what do we know? The well is warded from people investigating it but due to our uncanny priest we discovered the rite that the witches used – binding life into unlife and holding dominion over death. The lantern in the tavern is clearly one witch and the well the other. I suggest we need to enter the witches dwelling pace to find out what is in there, likely there will be a warding or two before we get into their actual house. Then here, we should be able to find out what they saw in the future of Waterveil that made them sacrifice everything to protect it. After this we can maybe deal with the pirates to stop them acting as muscle for Raggort or try to find out what Raggort will do now and try to stop that. Jerry of Port Miere |

Thank you for passing this information onto us, Jerry. At the very least it is a comfort to have further explanation for what occured that day.
For seeking to further resolve this, my services, such as they are, are the family's should they want or need them. It was a pleasure to travel with the three of you. I apologise for not seeming myself; I have been distracted by things of late and this was my first venture forth from my meditations in Gothiel.
