Hi gang.
Not at he caves for lil while so have turned my thoughts to paper of the yellow variety.

I asked before about ele ideas but have forgotten them all. Here are some of my own, and would appreciate any feedback on them.

Summon Stalker - as Shade 6 but has max dmg single from the front, gains +1 backstab.

Summon Spectre - as Shade 6 but does Mortality by blow (inaddition to normal dmg?)

Summon Toxivore - as shade X but additionally deals CV x by blow.

Summon (insert ever increasing royalty name here) - not sure on stats

Will post others when i can s im at work being hounded by demons...err...kids...lol.

Cheers in advance.

The major problem with spending lots of points on summonations is that you need monsters to play them. If a dungeon only has a few monsters then this can be a problem.

Ben Dolley as Machir bought some massive shade summonation glyphs, and he got a points request where he could shift off as Machir and then play his shade - much better all round as it does not require a monster and makes a nice change to wade into monsters doing quin when you have been playing a high wizard all day.

Yeah ive got summat similar for just that reason. Love the idea of a Summoner (which is what the character is) and just wanna round out some speciality summonations.

How about applying for glyphs which modify an existing shade which is under your control - give it additional abilities e.g. CV by blow, backstab, etc. Magic hits? Healing?

That would give you lots of flexibility as you could then mix n' match.

Try talking to Tim T; he's got the most rounded set of elemental summonation and empowerment abilities I'm aware of.

Rather than getting a lot of 8 or 10 mana spells I would try for a series of small ones that you can cast on a Shade 6 - possibly with a restriction of "only one of these per shade" so (for instance):

Aura of Fear - Shade can now do Mortality 1/15 seconds (full verbal)
Aura of Decay - Shade now hax 3 innate "Disintegrate Touch" spells
Aura of Venom - Shade now does an additional BV 2 by blow
Aura of Gloom - Shade now casts Extinguish touch at will

That way you spend fewer points and have the flexibility to use the one you need at the time - it also allows you to buy some innate Summon Shades to cast them on and save mana that way.

Richard Lock used to have some interesting add-on spells for his gnomes

Metamorphic Gnome - Gave ut chameleon instead of shift and its bound weapon became a pair of daggers
Digger - Could tunnel through non-spiritual surfaces
Bomber - Started a 10sec timer on the gnome, then it exploded doing a magic missile to the chest to everyone in 20ft
Iron Gnome - Gave it extra hits
Insubstantial - Gave it last hit magic

He had a few more as well
