The Dark Man reviewed the day with a critical eye. It had been one of mixed results but ultimately satisfactory, with some unexpected benefits. It seemed one of the heads retrieved was far more potent than the others'; the head of a giant, scared with the wounds of a thousand battles. What powers it would bring were yet to be discerned. The creature had been beyond his group to handle, even the tribals had struggled against it. And what a strange bunch these tribals they were too… on the one hand giving him a huge amount of grulls to walk away when he spoke to them in Ishma, enough to set up stage two in fact. On the other hand, they had reacted with strength and purpose to undo the rites in their burial grounds and pursued his group mercilessly. The traps and guardians had been undone in a single day, by three goblins, two trolls and a (somewhat out of place) Crusading Knight no less!
No matter, they had done their job and many spirits had been harvested. Keith, the dwarven Unholy Champion had died to the blades of the troll and while this was expected, the inability to bring him back was a worry and bother. Other champions were always available but his true death was something the Dark Man would have to protect himself against for the future. Indeed, on the whole, the day wasn’t a win, but it was far from a loss and other days would follow… -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
