Brother Knights,
I have been notified of a verified threat against Mordred's Rest which must be dealt with quickly and with as much force as we can muster. There is a group known as The Sword of the Mist, who have been opening portals into Mordred's Rest as part of a plan to attack the Rest during the Final Dawn. The group is shielded from some scrying so information is limited at this stage but there are rituals being cast which will let us know more soon. What we do know is this; They have a small base located in a ruined building to the south of Mordreds Rest which has two portals, one leads to their central area, one leads to a ritual chamber. It is currently unclear what specifically is located in either area, or even where these portals lead; The portals themselves are secundal in nature. The intentions of The Swords of the Mist are to attack Mordreds Rest at the Final Dawn, although their reasons for doing so are unclear. We also know very little about the group itself, and while several obvious threats and recent activities have been discounted If anyone has ideas about groups that may be capable of creating these portals then please let me know. They are capable of scrying themselves, which is why we must act with speed in dealing with this threat. As such I am calling all Knights who are free to muster this Sunsday, 22nd Novuar to deal with this group. By then scrying rituals should be completed and we will have more information to act on. Tai Lord Knight |

The following will be of use on Sunsday:
Vision Salves Deadening Elixirs Dispelling Scrolls Communication Scrolls (not specifically the 4 spirit miracle, but in general) We have a number in the stores but if anyone will be picking up temporary scrolls on their way to the Rest, these are probably your best bets. Tai, if you need me to I can shield all knights with a spirit from all forms of scrying and be aware if you're scryed about and by whom (you'll still be able to scry about yourselves and each other). It is extremely taxing to maintain for a large number of people, but is possible if it will prove a significant benefit. I know that at least Penny and I are already shielded.
I will try and find some communication scrolls to bring. Mallerstang |

This would shield from almost all scrying of all different powers. I suspect however, this could cause more harm than good, however it is an option if people deem necessary. I will be present. I am unable to provide any of the required equipment but am capable of both divining and unweaving magic. Remstar Enoch Khan Virtue of Unity Immortal of Legend |

I will be there on Sunsday to assist.
A group called the Sword of the Mist and a shrine to Dark Imrazil being found recently definitely causes me concern. I had a "quick" look through the pages and pages of notes from Legend, for swords linked to the mist. The sword "Sorrow Maker" was used to inflict the wound upon Imrazil that first caused the spread of the mist, we did cleanse it and return it to its origional form of "Wyrm Slayer" while in the distorted time in Legend however I am not sure what happened do it when we broke the time ritual. We also found some information in the Arc of Immortals that existed and were linked to those originally involved with the mist which i have put below. Of course, these could be all unrelated, I haven't done any scrying, it could just be a group of ebony wizards who like the spell. I will however see if I can borrow Tavis's book, just in case. Gimly Voice The Mist The Mist held all the forces of Krondel, and the Church of St. Michael sought to enter the land and tear down its foundations. There were a number of attempts on the Mist by the Upperworlders, but little was achieved though it soon became clear that those behind it were Dharak Zranoth and other members of the council; Lord Euryion and Mirric. The beguiling nature of the Mist saved itself at first, but then the Dranarch retrieved the Mist Cloak and the Mist became vulnerable for the first time. The Upperworlders set out and slew Lord Euryion, and encountered Dharak Zranoth for the first time.. They discovered that a Ritual of Suffering was creating the Mist. The Mist began to prepare for a struggle. Krondel took note and turned his attention to those who would slay him. At that time, the only ones to harm Krondel were the 101st Armoured Division whose first strike managed to freeze the Mist for three months. Later they returned to do even more damage and reforge the Blade of Balance and learn more of its power. All this time that the Mist was attacked, one element had remained untouched…. The Disciples of Alkaard, the Vampyres. All knew of their existence, but as they had not taken action against the Upperworlders, they were left alone. So they gained great power. They also possessed Angelbane, and eventually gave it to the Dranarch Valpride in an attempt to kill the Upperworlders. Valpride was slain, and the sword was lost. In the time following, many of the Upperworlders suffered under the Gaze of Krondel, but eventually managed to get the Dranarch to accept Death and defeat the Gaze and so did they go do the two tasks of the Dranarch….. slay Dharak Zranoth and close the Portal to the Fey Plane of Light. They succeeded in both and the Mist was for once, shattered. Alkaard then decided to steal the Blood. He hates the Flaming Destroyer who stole his shield. Helping Alkaard was Dar Krista, the wielder of Angelbane, the opposite sword to Shadowbanisher, one of the 9 blades of power forged by the Earth god Danash in the Early Years. For a time there was little activity in the Land. Anarchus’ death had caused much suffering for the Mist and for a time no undead could be summoned or raised. Sir Hersce slew Alkaard in a duel and the forces of Krondel were afraid. However, Alkaard returned…. He slew Dar Krista and his followers for having stood by and let him die, took up Angelbane and rose to rule the Vampyres and make them a force to wreak vengeance upon those who killed him. The Mist had in the meantime gained in power, its source was freed from the altar of Dharak Zranoth, and began to draw its power direct from the Plane of Undeath, and there was a will to bring Krondel from the Plane of Undeath to become Dark Lord of All. In this the Vampyres were in alliance with the forces of Krondel. However, they sought that he would be Mist Ascendant…. The Mist is an Aspect of Krondel, and they wanted him to be Dark Lord of All in this form. This would be very destructive to the Land and so the Mist Warden reversed his passive role and decided to act to help the Knights destroy the Mist. This however meant that his counterpart, Cabal, the Voice of the Mist could act to stop them, and he could not be destroyed permanently unless the Mist was. Thus began the quest to locate the source of the Mist which then needed to be struck with the Vampyre Sword. -------------------- Rich

I'll come along.
I will see if I can find a tutor for the Ivory spell See Through Mists. I've also got my diploma from the Silver Tower. I'm not very good with dispelling magics though so I'll see what scrolls I can find. Tertius Deputy Warmage |

By what other means might I be able to gain the ability to see through mists? If I can find someone to teach us then Tai and I might be able to cast the spell on others. That said I don't think either of us have a vast amount of magic with which to cast it. Beyond that you just need to head down to the sparring ring and try fighting with a blindfold. Tertius |

I'm trying to remember anything which might be useful from the fight against Krondel. The Mist was a horde of Vampires - anyone entering it would be drained to death or, failing that, beguiled. We held it at bay with the sword Shadowbanisher, which no undead could approach. I feel sure it was eventually destroyed by Saladin and the others, but I was dead at the time so I don't remember the details.
Moonglum -------------------- No of course I won't ref. Are you mad?

Unfortunately I can't attend, other duties, but as ever will be around to make potions as required, still not healing before anyone asks.

If your thinking it's The Mist. Didn't we use like some special fat candles, as well as just taking what they threw at us on the chin.
