To whom it concerns,

Hopefully this can reach the right people. Having awoke yesterday, with a Priest of St. Michael kneeling over me, and feeling as though I had just been dragged repeated across a Ggrutuck's face;- I came to the conclusion that I died. It feels ever so strange saying that. Something I will have to ponder. My last moments I remember a skeletal wall covered in ice... So my thanks to the companions I was with for bringing me back.

The Priest or someone else tried to explain what had happened as best as he could, yet I was in such a state I really took nothing in, and it was not until I woke this this morning that I have a slight clarity to myself again.

If Derath or Bertrand of the Lady of Stars, or Reuben or Hilda of the Monster Hunters could inform me of what happened(Or Tuco if he can read...), I would greatly appreciate it. Wondering from the Lord's Manor, I felt the Deathly's chill still abound, so I will think the worst until informed otherwise.

If anyone wishes the information I scribed then please feel free to ask, however I wont record it publicly as it seemed quite personal to the Clan of the Frozen River.

I am glad to see that you are returned to the living, my friend.

Whilst you were resting, and Reuben also, two of the icy skeletons crept up behind us very stealthily, and slew you and almost killed Reuben. They were after some difficulties resulting from the drawing of a warding that it transpired regrettably almost none of our number could cross, slain. In that battle Derath also fell. Reuben who by then was resembling a mummy, which is like the zombie he is so proud of killing but more dangerous, devised a plan by which the little dark priest controlled one of the skeletons (they are Icy Dead, apparently), and had it destroy the warding that threw the bone shards, because they could not harm it as they were sharp spears.

Unfortunately, on the other side of the bone wall were two flying swords, which we were unable to defeat owing to the complete absence of the wielders of magical power. We returned carrying the dead to the camp of the tribe of the Frozen River, and informed them that something was making the Icy Dead mine for them. There was some discussion with Soaring Eagle as to whether this might have been the same person who woke the ice dragon. We stayed there for a little while, and then when we were rested made our way through the mist of the Nacht back to the place where we had been hired, and relayed the story to the man who had hired us, who arranged for you to be handed to the user of spiritual power who arranged your return.

Reuben and I are intending to remain here as there is some talk of sending another group to go and explore further, now that more is known. We have sent word to Gruneweg as well. If you were able to join us, that would be an excellent thing.

Well looks like it took 3 of them to take me down

I could of had them as well
Still, I'm here, they're not I presume. Which means I must have softened up those icy dead for you.

Ah no, they must have fell for my rouse of being dead, slipped on my corpse and smashed their skulls on the floor, its the only explanation

If I can get back there, I'll come. If not, I'll head back to the sunless, theres loads of great fights awiting there

Randell

Corse I read, you make it sound like I'm stupid! Manely what the kind lady with the bandages said, but she forget to mention somethings.

Tuco bravely rescuing the body of the pale chap from a room with seventeen dancin' swords.
Some people following tracks and controllin' undeath and stuff.
Tuco gettin' your book and the dancing fellas body from the snow.
Soaring Eagle giving us that smoked wolf meat.

and of course, what I is best at
Tuco turning the Icy Dead into the I Be Dead.

Hope you are better now Mr Rust. I feel that place is too nippy for me to go back to, dragons an' such are a bit beneath me now.

Hilde, I am glad you are attempting to go back; It seems as though this could have quite an impact on our own lands should the unnatural winter spread. I am however going to be unable to return. Partly because, quite frankly I am scared of those frozen dead after they battered me to death. Also, I am heading to Scarlene to meet with a very interesting man. I wish you all the best however, and I'll send you all the information I recorded.

Randell, It is good to see that you too are well and alive, I seem to remember you falling in a flurry of blades and bones. It happened so close to my own that I must of swept it from my memory. You are a good warrior, if a little suicidal! I have been to the Sunless once myself and some travelling companions had to destroy a Blauz ritual chamber. I cannot really see why you would want to spend much time there.

Ah Tuco, thank you retrieving my journal it is quite important to me. You are almost as eccentric and battle-lusting as our friend Randell, without the ridiculous sense of attire!

To any that do return to The Isle of Winter, please take heed, and let me know how it goes, I am intrigued. Good luck to you!

Your're mistaken, it was a clever ploy to have them smash their heads after falling on my corpse.
I don't 'want' to spend much time in the sunless, theres just lots of work and fighting to be done to repel the spiters forces.

And I'll hear nothing bad against my attire, sheer jealousy of my trousers is all it is

Randell
