**A commotion erupted in the Guild hall of the Natural Power. It was a cold, wet Sunsday morning. The rain drizzled down roof and wall alike, a dreary sight if ever you saw one. But... this is Primus. And excitement is rarely far away... Four rather nervous looking wizards from the Blue Tower of High Magery stood in the guild hall, having just that instant transported there. They eyed the gathered guild members with caution, unseen, before departing once more. It wasn't long before the gathered mercenaries became conscious of the black box wrapped in ribbons of power, bellowing forth and sickly red smoke.
The Natural Power wasted no time, and set about investigating this newly arrived artefact. It was a simple task discovering that the ribbons were inscribed with a strange ritualistic font that was unfamiliar to those present. More than this, much of the information about the box was shielded from their attempts to ascertain more, beyond the one chilling fact that it could kill any one of them in a variety of ways if not dealt with appropriately. As fate would have it, the Natural Power had already been presented with a task for their day; to travel to the world on Languaire where aid had been requested against an invading force. Given the seeming inaccessibility of the box, the decision was made to travel first to this adjoining world and do what needed to be done there, in the hopes that on their return a solution to the puzzling and powerful artefact would be found. As they are want to do, the Mercenaries were successful. Large numbers of the enemy were dealt with, and they uncovered much information about the invading forces, if not their exact reasons. They returned to a still dreary and damp Primus, and the box that remained to vex them. However, during their travel they uncovered something useful; a letter half transcribed to Ancient text that bore the same ritualistic font as the ribbons protecting the box. Following through and completing the transcription, they were able to disarm the box safely and gain access to its contents. The Mercenaries found within a report on Languaire and its ties to Primus; could this be the reason for the invasion? That is for those who know the full details to dwell upon... -------------------- Will Power - will@labyrinthe.co.uk
