Labyrinthe Forum _ Yellow Paper _ points app to make a magic item largely permanent

I've got a pretty tasty Spirit weapon with a couple of innates in it from a 4-day and am keen to NEVER HAVE TO LIVE WITHOUT IT, I'm told you can points app this kind of thing such as 'item never blows up until character rebirths'

I guess what I'm after is anyone elses experiences in this sort of thing and indeed any advice for a points app of this nature and what I might expect cost-wise.

It's been done a number of ways. I'd try a couple of things to get an idea of the points cost. Sometimes people have sacrificed res chance as a way of making things permanent.
So
Keep my item 1
Item xxx (include details) no longer blows up on death (you may already have this)
Keep my item 2
Item xxx has it's blow up date extended by 6 months may buy this 6 times
Keep this item 3
Once has bought "keep this item 2" 6 times may make item permanent.

Or

Just keep this item
Item xxx no longer has a blow up date and does not blow up on death bar rebirth.

The cost used to be worked out as the cost of the abilities for your character with a discount for having the item. That was under a previous regime though and Phil may do things differently.

For my AP, so a bit different I grant you, I bound his soul to his unholy sword (as it was frankly disgustingly hard) by sacrificing some Vitee to it.

Meant that it did not blow up upon death and if it was destroyed by any other means I could "res" it by throwing more Vitee at it. Cost was pretty cheap, but I suspect would be more under Phil. It also had return to hand at will as a throw away 1 line.

I then expanded upon it with add on abilities such as could store spirits in it to channel causing innates as if from an item etc and various slayer based improvements based on the sword consuming their souls to power it (Vitee drain for use on his self res and for casting invoke evil.

I only have a small bit of experience with this (3 times for myself and seeing about 3 other peoples apps) and so far with weapons i've not seen it as very worth it, compared with empower weapon. It seems to come back at same cost.

I've seen it work well to buy add ons post making the item permanent but the weapon permanence seems to be the cost as empower weapon.

You could maybe try just getting the innates as permanent (especially if you could not get them otherwise) and then just aim to get empower weapon

Others undoubtedly will have much more exoerience of this of course
