Dear all,
I find myself working alone from time to time and do not yet have the ability to ustilise the powers contained in scrolls although can read the language. Based on this I will invest in an apprentice crafted shield but I see I can get 10 power worth to take with me being well equipped. Can anyone advise what they have found useful when journeying alone and requiring another to read to scroll and make the power work? Regards Sharp Scout and problem solver. Lawful Evil if it helps the advice! One second one - the once only magic/spiritual item to level 5. Is it literally that - absolutely once in a lifetime. Or is it once per dungeon? |

Scrolls really depend on what other mercenaries you find yourself with. You can never go wrong carrying scrolls of healing even if you can't read them. Even useful as an Elf if there is a Vivemancer on the party (since they typically have more mana than spirits they can add mana to make scrolls mantic) Scrolls of "Other" spells: Plate (O), Walk On Air (O), Walk Through Fire (O) et cetera so any mages present can cast them on you "Clive" Also the Pre-Dungeon Comm will often give a hint as to what would be useful to have as a party scroll wise. OOC: Each dungeon you can choose a new item BBB -------------------- Grey's Law: Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice...

Glad tidings Sharp,
I'm one the appointed MO's of Fate. You have a conflicting demeanor to myself. I can only really comment on my experiences and if you were travelling with on such as me. I, rather unimaginatively, only travel with healing scrolls to aid my fellow traveler, but always handy if you have goodly priest with you, there's usually is one around. I can cast the power of the Golden Drake, (hopefully soon to be Dragon). If you requisitioned two scrolls of Shield Other from the Quartermaster, this would give you increased protection from the mundane and also the powers of the Elements, lasting for one primal Heartbeat, twice in one day. I believe the item is once off per excursion... I had two last time I traveled, I had one with a Goodly Spirit Shift and one with a Lesser Force Wall. both of these items have saved my skin on more than on occasion. Fate watch over you, Sejanus of Shaehan Vivomancer of Fate -------------------- Cheers,
Simon. |

i took a scroll of Touch of Death last time we ventured out and I can tell you there was a look of surprise on that powerful priest's face when I jumped him... I find other scrolls like Greater Communication are very useful

One more basic question if you can entertain me!
My sone will be a young player Warlock. He’ll join Fate too. Black magic user so does his 10 power scrolls have to be black too or can they be any colour? |

Black magic user so does his 10 power scrolls have to be black too or can they be any colour? Its 10 power of scrolls, they could be spirit magic, whatever colour. They don't even have to be scrolls that the person battleboarding them can use. Its just scrolls you pick up, as if you'd gone and bought with grulls BBB -------------------- Grey's Law: Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice...
