With a week already passed and us being three weeks away from the next part of the campaign I wanted to open things up as to some extent your approach and future actions are open to you as a group to decide upon.

I've opened up a separate thread and added copies of the ritual and a translation of the ancient text you found for reference, it being presumed that between you you manage to get it translated and also you don't suffer for it sitting rotting in an IC bag of Cotter's.

The next event is fully booked and we have one booked monster which is Jonathan returning to crew again, I am aware that not everyone who played the 1st is booked on the existing 12 spaces, I have no issue with you asking the booking line to extend the party to allow you above the standard 12 and then if anyone does book off for any reason the party moves back towards the normal 12 player maximum.

On the crew front if you have any favours to call in don't be shy, the event went well last time due to the large volume of crew we ended up with and monsters make for a good day for everyone. Encourage people to get book on.

You are all welcome to undertake "downtime" actions as individuals or groups to help shape you plans, sound out ideas, seek assistance from others, investigate and learn. All you need is an idea of what you want to achieve and a plan to how to go about it.

e.g. Aim: To Learn what could be done to help the strengthen Copper Brooks spirit Stoic
Plan: Visit the Conclave of the Greenweft, speak to them on what was discovered from Stoic and how he was being forced away from Copper Brook by another spirit and what could be done to strengthen him so he can better endure the time he is severed from Copper Brook and forced elsewhere

You can either post here or ideally email me directly at gcourt@live.co.uk the cut off for any submissions will be next Sunday 12/02/17 so it allows me time to respond to you and still have enough time to write.

Below is a series of communications and their answers performed by Jim, included here as I know Dave S is happy for you all to have the information and also being slack as he is away enjoying the Super Bowl right now.

Feel free to discuss ideas here among yourselves about how you might wish to proceed and what you want to seek to achieve first.

Where is the scabbard that Argus Stromgald wants?
Unknown, it was last known to be somewhere in the territories of what is now called Copper Brook

Who is Argus Stormgald?
A Noble of the Empire and one of the oldest of House Stromgald, who resides within the city of Bildteve.

Why does Argus Stromgald want this scabbard?
He takes responsibility for safeguarding and suppressing an animate sword that he believes will be easier to contain when sheathed in the scabbard that was crafted for it.

Who are the people we referred to as Alfar?
The creatures are “The Foul” descendants of Alfar originating from Primus, whose nature adjusted and evolved to the environment of the realm they dwelt on.

Do they have any weakness?
They have the same heritage as the Alfar of Primus.

Do they have any known enemies?
They are factions upon the realm they dwelt that would conquer of kill them.

What do the 'Alfar' people want with Copper Brook?
Many things, their primary desire is access to the Ley to sustain their Place spirit and themselves

What are their other reasons?
To harvest the corrupted star metal from the land. To fulfil their half of a demonic pact.

What are their other reasons (continued)?
To find a lost relic of their line of chieftains. To return to the ancestral home of their forefathers.

Who are the grey skinned people with tattered clothing?
The Souls of the Sainted Blade, who dwell on same realm as The Foul.

Why are they working with the 'Alfar'?
To fulfil their half of a demonic pact.

Is there something we can do to break them apart?
Seek to translate and unravel the demonic pact in your company’s possession.

Who and what is on the other side of the tear?
The realm upon which the Foul and the Souls dwell but specifically the Fouls encampment and their Place Spirit.

Is there anything we need / to do with the tear on the mountain side?
The tear is a stable gateway between Copper Brook and the Fouls realm, it should be sealed before Copper brook is reinstated to Primus.

Just for completeness I'll add this here as well as e-mail version:

1.) Aim: To Learn what could be done to help the strengthen Copper Brooks spirit Stoic

Plan: Visit the Conclave of the Greenweft, speak to them on what was discovered from Stoic and how he was being forced away from Copper Brook by another spirit and what could be done to strengthen him so he can better endure the time he is severed from Copper Brook and forced elsewhere

Who: (Harambe/ Spock) – Forest Guardian – Should have some knowledge and be able to discuss from a base level of understanding.

2.) Try and research the history of the Foul particularly when why and how they were split off from Primus.

Plan: Using any relevant archives of Information available on Primus e.g. Ancient Libraries, accessing information from Arcaanum as we have plenty of guild members.

Who: (Banks/Charlie) – Diligent intellectual research required. Boring Neuronicist’s job tongue.gif

3.) Attempt to research the realm on which the Souls of the Sainted Blade and the Foul reside. (This will probably link back to the research into how and when the Foul left Primus for their new realm and diverged from being regular Primal Alfar.)

Plan: As Above

Who: (Banks/Charlie) - Diligent intellectual research required. Boring Neuronicist’s job tongue.gif

4.) Try and ascertain who are ‘The Host’ as referred to in the Demonic pact. “The Spirit of your camp will be defended to the last Soul of the order should the forces of the Host descend upon you.”

Plan: As Above

Who: (Aaron/Cotter) – Grey Wizard who has access to the Arcaanum and can go through them for contacts and to get a wide spread of information.

5.) Try to work out what the specific properties of the swords created by the sainted blades and specifically why they need to be tempered and sealed with blood.

Plan: Take one of the Sainted Blades war forged swords and samples of the Star Metal Ore from which they are manufactured to an appraiser eg find the best available Weaponsmith or again to Arcaanum etc to try and ascertain it’s specific abilities and potency.

Who: (Roberto & Maximilian) – Dwarf warrior, with plenty of experience of decent swords and a wizard from Arcaanum who should be able to recognise any magical implications.

6.) Research the history of Place Spirits in Primus and Ishma. Are they similar to the Samila of the lands of the seven winds and if not how do they differ?

Plan: Using any relevant archives of Information available on Primus e.g. Ancient Libraries, accessing information from Arcaanum, contacting native Ishmaics and talking to Stoic and the Greenweft.

Who: (Link – Sam Church) - Forest Guardian – Should have some knowledge and be able to discuss from a base level of understanding.

7.) Try to ascertain a timeline of when the miner at Copper Brook first stumbled upon this unique Star Metal Ore, when Argus Stromgald’s Sheath was last seen near Copper Brook, finally when and where and from what the Sword which Argus wants to contain was forged.

Plan: Contact Argus in Bildteve to get the full ‘narrative’ of this sword of his and the sheath’s timeline. Research the ancient history of the area surrounding copperbrook and also contact the Apothecary and miners in Copper Brook and see if they can point us to any more ancient information about the greater area of copper brook.

Who: (Marcus / Billy) – Can have a frank discussion with an old Knight and as a Paladin can tell if he’s lying.

Scene 1

Perceptress and those members of her conclave she had managed to convene stood around talking freely with Harambe at the stone circle he had first met the Druidess. He looked nervously at the roots of the ancient tree that stood within the circle and shivered at the memories of the journey he and his half-brothers had endured within the World Tree the conclave had managed to create for them as a bridge to the lost Copperbrook.

He had explained to them al las he and Link had explained to Perceptress on their return what they had discovered. They had found the place spirit of Copperbrook, a being with the look for a dwarf but skin formed of the white stone that formed the bed of the mountain river, veins of copper running through his skin, and hair like wet, green, river weeds tied back in a warrior’s tail.

Of concern was the decay that was present upon his skin, in places the stone was crumbled and eroded away, at other points the stony flesh was blackened and necrotised not unlike the wounds he and his brothers had endured from the corruption of The Foul. This added to the fact Stoic had confided in them all that at times he was forced away his place, from Copperbrook to another realm where the leylines were decayed to nothingness. While he was there he was severed from both what made him what he was and the primal power that maintains him as food and drink do to a man of flesh and blood. The longer he was there the weaker he became and the more his own flesh failed. When he found himself returned to Copperbrook once more he would drink deeply of the well of Primal Power that was the very essence of Copperbrook but while it would return some of his lost vitality it did not restore him fully and each time it occurred the weakness grew deeper.

Most of those gathered listened intently and discussed many ideas with Harambe but none of them were experts when it came to place spirits and only one or two had even met Stoic himself.

Place spirits are, put simply, the manifestation of a particular location or place come to life through the powers of nature. Some remain sedentary their entire lives, others awake and walk the land in humanoid form while still drawing power from and very much connected to the place of their birth. There are a great many such, though some, at least in some druidic traditions hold more significance and power than the others.

If a spirit is as strong as the land it is tied to strengthening the land would be one way to proceed but with Copperbrook itself isolated from Primus that might be difficult. The other countenance to that is it might strengthen the second spirit that was somehow displacing Stoic. If a spirit feeds of the land, the primal power that flows through the world providing a source of power that Stoic could draw upon when severed from Copperbrook might help sustain him. The greater the source of that power the longer and better he might endure. At the very least taking a supply of druidic talismans that he could carry upon his person and draw on their power to maintain himself while so isolated would perhaps be the simplest and quickest solution while a more considered one is formulated.

Among the suggestions Harambe heard made were the ritual empowerment of Stoic, seeking allies within the World Tree or nearby branches that touched the bridge the conclave had created to Copperbrook, seeing if any of the more public place spirits could lend or gift their power such as Argo and his water of life, anchoring Stoic so he cannot be forced away from Copperbrook or simply finding the spirit that is displacing him and putting a stop to their actions.

Harambe guessed he had a lot to think about and half wished Link hadn’t wandered off on his own.

Scene 2

Banks reached across the table and poured another, very long, very expensive glass of raspberry brandy for the dark skinned Alfar sat on the other side of the table from him. The Alfar reached forward gratefully dipping a mock bow in thanks from his seat and took a long quaff from his glass. Banks mind reeled just a little at the affront of such a fine drink being so cavalierly chugged like ten grull shnizzle but contained himself from letting his potent but unseen anger escape in the direction of his esteemed guest.

The Alfar hailed from the Clan of the Earthern Blood a group of Svart Alfar known to dwell within the confines of Silvethorn but went to the dark lights of Deci many years ago and made it his home, leaving the trappings of an uncultured life behind him.

Banks had learned this Alfar, one Quesdelt, had reimagined himself as something of a relic finder come treasure hunter specifically with success in all things ancient and Alfari. He might be dubious, he might have a smile like a hungry wolf and sleeves that probably concealed not just one knife but more than the tavern’s kitchen possessed and he might be drinking through Bank’s earnings at an astonishing rate but when it came to an Alfari historian he was unlikely to do better.

They had been going through a great variety of stories and history and every time Banks thought they might be getting close to something he was looking to hear the Alfar doubled back or jumped the conversation in another direction. Finally Banks realised the Alfar was toying with him like a beast leading a hunter on a hapless pursuit, except he wasn’t hapless. With a barely perceivable raise of his left eyebrow Banks slammed his desire into the Alfar’s consciousness like a river bursting a dam and all but drowned any further evasion out of him.

“Yes I have visited Copperbrook in the past for professional reasons. The mine that the men work is no more than old stone and caverns worked by my hands of the Fjell cousins in ages past. Within the mountain passages hide a number of chambers where at times ancient kings, thanes of the clan have been laid to rest. I visited one such chamber when it was discovered a few years back, the artefacts that came out of the tomb were old is true but was clear to see this was once the territory of the Clan of the Copper Boar.”

“Go on…” Banks encouraged.

“Over the years a few such objects have surfaced but always their origin was close to what is now Copperbrook. What’s strange is Alfar we are a communal people, historically we liked to mingle with our cousins, normally in the course of victory over another clan, if you understand my sentiment. The very transient nature of our people and our possessions sees objects of one clan carried far and wide through trade, wanderlust, tribute or geld. We are peoples with strong histories, bloodlines that carry memories and power, my own clans customs some would see as barbaric but to us they are ritual and power and strength. While a clan will know its own history foremost it will well know those that have been friend and foe over the ages, who birthed the greatest hero, slew the tallest troll, stole back a soul of their thane from the netherworld. But when it comes to the Copper Boar there is but scraps of history and nothing of import.”

“I have heard a tale told of a clan that journeyed across Primus endlessly until they faded from its face. Another tale tells me of a thane that found the first root of the World Tree his reward was strength unbound and a size to block out the sun and so he carried his whole clan upon his back and ventured into the first of the World Trees ways.”

“One or both of these could be true. But if a clan was truly to leave Primus, the world upon which we were birthed by the world itself, you would have to be stubborn as a Boar to try it let alone lead your clan with you. If my life depended on naming a Clan it could be, the Copper Boar would be the one I’d name.”

“We Alfar it’s well understood we are the nature of that which we call home and the land where we dwell. If the Copper Boar did leave the land of Primus and settle elsewhere I’m sure they were shaped by the land that finally settled to dwell upon, just as the caverns shaped my Svart forefathers.”

Banks blinked his eyes realising he’d been concentrating for a very long time, his brow was now beaded with perspiration and his own head felt like he had just woken up after a gallon of shizzle drink off. He had news to share with his brothers but first perhaps a little lie down was required.

Scene 3

Aaron sat in the enclave library. His studies had been disrupted as every so often when he was deep in concentrating trying to translate the texts so awkwardly written in glyphs it kept going dark. Not because it was late, although he guessed it truly was now, but actually, annoyingly magically dark. The old fashioned three mana way, at first he just dispelled it, but on the fourth occasion he got up and moved. He swore there was a muffled chuckle as he did so from the empty seat next to him.

He wasn’t having much luck “The Host” was a fearfully generic name. He’d found reference to the “Horde Host”, the “Host with most”, the “( )Host” with a silent and invisible g, and a thousand and thirty seven volumes of “Harpell, commander of the Angelic Host”. He was just about to give up hope when out of the one thousand and thirty sixth copy fluttered a book mark. Aaron looked around to see if anyone had seen it and when certain no one was paying any attention to him he reached out and after gently picking it up he read it.

Join Thor’s book club today.
Hope for the known Hells and a few unknown.
A discerning reading club for the intelligent, tall man.

Things fell into place, like falling through a bridge of stone you didn’t know was a bridge of stone. Hope, book, demons, THOR!

Well he was a wizard and could claim intelligent, even if he couldn’t convince, tall was an issue but hey this was the fourth age, height didn’t have the same power it once held and the book mark looked old, really old.

Racing out of the enclave library clutching his proverbial golden ticket in hand he headed for the closest Talthari temple.

A short time later having argued his voucher come book mark was still valid, convinced the acolytes present he wasn’t a demon and his fiery markers were just the results of his elven heritage on his mother’s side and promised he would speak to all of his half-brothers about joining Hell Company he got his hands on THE book. Well it might have just been A book, but it had words, pictures, wasn’t in mana glyphs and more importantly contained what he was looking for.

The Host, of Kalatine. A demonic army comprised of a large number of previously independent factions that once fought each other for mastery of the demonic realm of Kalatine and dominion over one another. In recent seasons it is said that a powerful demon lord has come to the fore decimating other factions and offering them to join him or have their souls consumed. As the number of factions under the host banner have increased so have the margin of their victories over those that stand and defy it. Those factions that remain apart are either too small for the force of the host to concern themselves with or are walled up within ancient fortresses, hidden behind walls but too weak in power of numbers to make battle with the host upon the ravaged plains they roam.

So good news they are on another world. Bad news “demonic army”. How on Primus do I spin this he thought and what does it mean for Copperbrook.

Scene 4

Roberto and Maximillian stood across from the old grizzled smith in the oppressive heat of his forge as the rain fell and hissed as it turned to steam on the tin roof that offered settle to his apprentices that scurried around with purpose assisting the journeymen that worked under the smith’s guidance.

“So you want to know what’s special about this sword then, and you say it is was crafted from ore like this lump you just handed me?”

The two half-brothers nodded as one and gestured for the man to continue.

"It’s very well crafted to start with, no doubt a master smith at work, better than my own work too, loathe as I am to admit it. As for the ore seems like Star Metal to me, which makes it bloody unusual to craft swords out of and rarer still in quantities that you could make more than one out of if you were so inclined.”

“Now Starmetal itself if you believe the old stories is something that was used to forge ancient prisons, specifically to lock away things to powerful or dangerous to destroy. Most commonly demons old and ancient. Now Starmetal is known to be the bane of wizards, it has properties that dampen magic, make it harder for them to manipulate mana or whatever and that’s mush a small amount. If the stories are true and you had star prisons forged of this stuff to weaken and keep demons contained it’ got to be a good thing to stab them with as well ain’t it?”

Roberto tried hard to contain the smile that ran across his face as he thought of running more than a few of the Sainted Blade through with their own craftsmanship, Maximillian shot his brother a withering look to encourage him stifle the grin.

“Now see these green crystals within the ore?”

The smith turned the ore in one of his large hands and pointed with the stem of his pipe as he spoke.

“These aren’t like anything I’ve ever seen in an ore like this before. My guess is that this ore once formed such a prison and whatever was inside caused the prison to change over time, maybe weaken it, perhaps that’s why this Star Metal is scattered in the earth. Yep I know you didn’t tell me that but these are obvious pick marks, this has been mined not just picked up randomly in the wilds.”

“What they mean for the metal itself I couldn’t tell you without working the metal myself, might be enough for a small shiv or a few arrow heads here but it would be a stretch and I don’t know what techniques those that made the blade use. Would likely need more than you have to learn any secrets it might have.”

Maximillian interrupted the smith.
“Would any of those techniques perhaps involve the tempering with…er...umm…blood?”

The wizard was obviously at pains to ask such an abhorrent question but his discomfort was pushed aside by the fear of the answer not seeing the light of day.

The smith looked slowly one to the other and back again.

“I didn’t take you for the dark cultist type. I’d say what you speak of if needed is ritual, be it necessary or just believed. Its common smith lore that the greatest weapons to grace the tales of heroes and dragons were tempered by, bathed in or exposed to that which was the bane of that which they were crafted to slay. It is said the first frostbrand was a sword tempered by the very breath of the winter dragon such that is would cleave the scales of Drakkon Furious in twain.”

The two brothers nodded their understanding, Maximillian letting Roberto reclaim his blade and the ore from the smith before clarifying.

“So hypothetically speaking, if one was to craft a blade of star metal it may have a natural affinity for hacking demons apart. If it was also tempered in the blood of one specific type of demon it could follow that it would be a bane to them...”

“Sounds about right to me.”

Scene 5

Link sat down on one of the large, weatherworn but flat stones that formed the centrepiece of this druids circle and waited. Sitting with his leather hood up as the rain fell with gentle persistence he breathed in the essence of his surrounds and recalled what had brought him here.

Having initially spoken to Perceptress she had suggested he seek to speak with those among the mercenary community to claimed to be place Spirits, names such as Argo, Sigurd, Chance. He wasn’t sure where to look to find them and being fresh to the mercenary life himself how willing they would be to share what might be personal or even secret details with an unknown, especially one with Flashblade blood.

So he set out himself guided by the very Ley he was learning to read, first through Silverthorn, then to the outskirts of Deci and from their north following a leyline swiftly flowing with the vitality of rivers until he sensed it crossed with two other leys.

He could sense the significance of where he arrived, the tracks suggested one being dwelt here and others in groups came at the turning of the seasons but outside of that it was a place of solitude and he felt at peace.

The sun dipped under the horizon and the Stars appeared one by one as he drank in the flow of power that welled in this spot. As the moon rouse in the sky two green eyes appeared in the shadowed gloom.

“So manling I smell your curiosity, I can sense your desire to learn and your lack of fear as you sit in the place of my birth. Your bravery makes me curious in return so I will tell you what I know and watch you when you go, then I will learn was this bravery or blind ignorance.”

The voice was near guttural with a thick rasp and as link stared at the eyes he realised they sat at a height with a shape like a wolf. He opened his mouth to speak but his words were silent and his voice muted.
“Little one I am the Shadow of the Slain Wolf, a place spirit like the one you seek to learn more of. I will tell you what I heard from the mouth of Arbor Low”.
“Across the land run the leys, small or large, a network of lines that let the powers of the world flow across the landscape. At certain places these leys come together and form ley points, nexuses of power from which many leys reach and thence flow from. Each year at the turning of the dawn the leys shift slightly, subtly remapping themselves over the world, spreading from the places of power, old and new, guided by those ancient beings and spirits who are bound to them. There have been many such spirits over the years, some pleasant, some malign, but each in some way beholden to the leys and their places of power, beholden to aid the flood of leys and power across the land.
Connecting the most significant places of power are what's known as "The Ways". Wide pathways, where the powers of nature flow most freely, ways that are the realm of each of the spirits of nature. Some of the ways might go nowhere, and rather be a realm which the leys flow from and to; a larger and more significant ley-point if you will. Others might be long passages that, much like the rivers, allow the powers of nature to flow most easily around the land. The greatest of the ways for example flow and connect the three great forests, keeping each strong and the powers that resonate from them potent.
Now, spirits come and go, some are much stronger and older than others and their places more significant, others shorter lived and weaker, existing briefly and then being replaced with another. A spirit exists and is bound to its place of power, it's "Way", and it grows strong through worship and the flow of power through its realm - festivals, rites, blood sacrifice, sheer volume or land, or all manner of other such and varied forms of worship - sites of ancient stones, the webs of spiders around a glade, all are tokens of worship and thanks, offerings to nature itself, and by virtue one of its many spirits. It is by means of a "Way”, that a place spirit can both exist in humanoid form and still remain the place, the land, from whence it came.
This is perhaps why many people in outlying villages, more akin to the ways of the world, in both senses, give offerings to the land to produce good harvests. In doing so they strengthen the place spirits and their "Ways", and thus empower the land and hopefully their crops.
Of course some simply believe this is all untrue, and that belief in the significance of the place spirits is unfounded. One could argue both ways.”
“I can sense what you have just heard asks more questions than it answers. So I will tell you a little more.”
“Place spirits exist across the whole realm of Primus, their power varies greatly. Not all are simply manifestations of the natural land, they can be tainted, twisted or created by acts or events of significance. I am the result of a great wolf who was slain at this place many moons ago by a hunter, there is much more to the tale than that, but it is for another time. Most spirits are bound to their place, while the ones of Ishma often wander seeking to claim other places of significance. Spirits can be destroyed, slain, imprisoned, some have been restored, created intentionally, others faded or fallen asleep for eternity but each is unique just as their place of power, origin or birth is. Most are guarded about their strength and their power, fewer still are interested in manifesting and revealing themselves to the world of men.”
“There are many treaties and writings on such by scholars though what contain truth and fact against theory or imagination is hard to say. Ally yourself to the land, strengthen the land and by extension them and you may earn their trust and thanks and from that much more.”

Scene 6

Marcus bowed formally to the manservant as he was shown to a cluttered but busy looking study. Looking around he saw reams of paper, texts, notes scrawled in various scripts he couldn’t begin to read, a large stained glass window depicting some form of female wind spirit rose high behind the main desk and the light that seemed to slide through it almost apologetically as though it didn’t really want to intrude into the room past what looked like a stuffed river crosilisk suspended from the ceiling, at least he hoped it was dead, but not it a religious sense that would be wrong.

Sitting at the desk and in the large shadow the crosilisk cast was Argus Stromgald, for some reason the brothers had expected and old knight, full of tales of valor, a waxed moustache stiff enough to whet a blade on and armour older than empire which was exactly what wasn’t in front of him. Argus was old man but spry with eyes that twinkled with mischief and youth that Marcus felt he had already lost and he must be sixty years his junior and wearing a strange get up of crushed velvet, fine silks and a waist coat that trailed on the floor scattered with a hundred tiny mirrors. For a moment Marcus was having flashbacks to a time he found himself in an old closet that he had been told once belonged to his alleged father but was full of clothes he wouldn’t never of expected a human to wear.

Pulling himself back to the here and now he spoke, “I’ve come to ask about the sword you possess and the scabbard you are looking for to sheath it in.”

“How disappointing here was I hoping you were looking for a benevolent uncle and a house whom would never wish to ignore its sons. But there is time for those things yet.”

He took a deep breath and launched into his lecture. “I am an usual man, my skills and talents lie in areas normally associated with the Ancient Folk to some extent. Over my years I have earned, woven and sealed a great many favours, bargains and even pacts those I use generally to keep dangers locked away, supressed or silenced and to keep me safe as if something were to happen to me the dangers would be loose. Think of me as a one man inquisition, a concerned private individual doing my noble duty to keep the empire, land and people safe as best I can allowing the forces of the inquisition to turn their concerns to bigger dangers. One of the things I possess is a rather troublesome sword, it’s known as the Plague Bringer, it is self-aware, able to move itself through levitation much like an intelligent dancing sword, it is an unholy thing and has featured in the darkest legends of Primus for centuries. This weapon most foul is rumoured to have been the very sword used by the demonic horseman, whose very presence threatened to plunge all the world into eternal darkness. Legends speak of the blades power, of the corruption that spreads wherever it is drawn and those serve it.”

“Now I have kept the blade subdued and immobile for a good while, however recently prior to the Dawn it started to become increasingly agitated, the bindings that I had used upon it barely keep it contained and I would often find it thrashing against the netherbonds as if they were pennants fluttering in the breeze. It’s still contained but I have never known it to rale against the methods I use to keep it so in such a way. The agitation was growing as the dawn approached and I sought to look for another solution. Many of the texts and tales of it’s legend speak of it being drawn, in order to draw a blade you must have a sheath or a scabbard from which to do so. I theorised that the blade did indeed have a scabbard that was crafted for it or with it but either way was a pair to it. Furthermore I believe, no I know, it was last known to be in the territories of Copperbrook but that was a long time ago.”

“Personally I don’t know much of Copperbrook other than it lies in the Barony of Silverthorn and the Baroness Tulan is a good woman who has treated well with my nephew Matron Stromgald in the past. I approached the Baroness about venturing to Copperbrook when she told me of the troubles, I then put her in touch with a factor I trust deeply and offered through him the reward you are undoubtedly hoping to secure, one I’d be happy to donate to your faith so as not to sully your soul with mortal avarice or greed.”

“As for the sword it is ancient, older than perhaps Primus itself if that is possible, which makes the scabbard equally old, and if it does come from a time before the throne or land then I’d give some thought to how it got here in the first place and who made it. I’m still trying to figure out why the scabbard was lost in Copperbrook, the Sword when it came into my possession was somewhere very different. Perhaps you and your brothers between you have some secrets you don’t yet understand or maybe you will find the pieces that put the puzzle together. Whatever the future holds should you find the scabbard or not I would very much like to hear your tales in case there are threads I can piece together should you not.”

With this week already passing at a rate of knots I wanted to open things up again to you as to your approach and future actions to decide upon as quickly as possible.

You have a lot of information in various people’s hands from both the events played and the downtime actions in between. As Saturday unfolded I could see there were various different theories among you as to what is behind things and ideas on how to approach and achieve your end goal.

The next event is fully booked and I am aware that not everyone who played the 1st or 2nd event is booked on the existing 12 spaces, I have no issue with you asking the booking line to extend the party to allow you above the standard 12 and then if anyone does book off for any reason the party moves back towards the normal 12 player maximum. Right now Billy, Giles and Sam are not in the party.

On the crew front right now we do not yet have any monsters. If you have any favours to call in don't be shy, the 1st event went well due to the large volume of crew we ended up with and monsters make for a good day for everyone and I would love for the last part to be suitably epic, challenging and interactive. Encourage people to get book on!

As before you are all welcome to undertake "downtime" actions as individuals or groups to help shape you plans, sound out ideas, seek assistance from others, investigate and learn. I’m sure Giles has plenty of things to add into the mix that Charlie will hopefully once again co-ordinate.

My current plan is:

Step 1:
Sunday 05/03/17 Deadline for Downtime Actions. Either sent by email to me at gcourt@live.co.uk or posted here.
Earlier than that would be great, “IF” I can get them by the morning of Sat 04/03/17 I can promise to turn them around this weekend.

Step 2:
Wednesday 08/03/17 Results for Downtime Actions published.
Review the results, and form a plan of how you want to proceed.

Step 3:
Sunday 12/03/17 Decisions on how to progress.
(Giving us just under 2 weeks to get the event planned, written and propped).

Step 4:
Saturday 25/03/17 Starfall Part 3

Feel free to discuss anything here or ask questions to me directly my FB messenger, PM here, email etc.
