My huge thanks to those who willingly risked themselves to rescue us from the “house” in Halgar.

And to Ash, who held onto his true self despite the affliction of undeath to make the last week or so a little less tedious. I am truly relieved to see my allies and fellow knights safe, and for myself too of course!

The house was meant to be the harbinger of an invasion, although I am unclear if that is a current threat or the remnant of a long past one.

I would advise very careful divination and assembling a well balanced group afore any venture in there again. It’s one of the most deeply unpleasant places I hast ventured into. Although if time and opportunity allows I would return to aid those with a genuine chance of removing the threat it represents.

May Harmony guide yer thoughts, and Purpose yer actions,

Sirac Drakeson

I also would like to thank everyone who travelled today to save me and my companions on that fateful mission.

Clearly we need to return to finish the job, but I think it will need an even more potent group to make it through without again, significant loss of Vitae.

It is good to feel the sun on my skin once more.

I would also like to thank everyone involved in rescuing those who went in, and Senator Crepitus for carrying news of our plight.

To answer some of the questions posed above - I discovered some small details:
The whole house itself was a Kesselharn trap.
These constructions were devised by the Lord who resides therein, now as an undead. He was a potent Kesselharn magiarch and created these buidlings as an advance attack.
Kesselharn would send them in advance of a strike - their purpose twofold:
1. To drain power from the surrounding environs (I believe ritual poles have been put in place and activated by the Inquisition to prevent this)
2.Those under attack would send potent individuals in to investigate - they would then be trapped or slain, robbing the place of a valuable defence in the attack by Kesselharn which followed.

This clearly happened in resposnse to Halgar being weakened over the Final Dawn. Whilst in there my initial thoughts were that Halgar's weakening had simply caused a long dormant attack by Kesselharn to trigger, but whilst in there - discovering that the originator of the construct was trapped in there too caused me to re-evaluate and broadly I am pretty certain that an unknown force discovered this old Kesselharn weapon, seeing Halgar to be weaker, launched it as an attack for their own purposes. Possibly those who got further in may have discovered more information - but until the trap is beaten I suspect we will not know much more

Morgan.

In gratitude to those who gave up their vitae in the defence of the Empire and during the rescue of our trapped group.

I would like to add my thanks to those who have already done so.

This was the most horrendous trap, I have ever seen and I have no immediate wish to return.

If required I would of course attend to try again to resolve and remove this house but I feel it is beyond my strength to do so.

A word of caution to anyone making another attempt, I have a feeling that as the house draws on the power of those who enter that it is completely possible and plausible that the more experienced the mercenary group that enters the tougher this house will become.

Many Thanks

Rangar

Further information on this,

I believe that the house itself after trying to raise you as an undead, if you die, offers you the choice to be raised as an undead meaning even if you are warded again such you may choose to be raised as an undead. I believe that if I had not been warded against undead killing me forever this would of been the case as I choose not to let the house raise me as an undead.

Obviously before its done cleaver people should commune about the safety of such things, but I don't thing just dismissing the house should be ruled out. As we have now gain a significant amount of information from it.

Lithmore

PS This may shed some light of why Ash of Dust and Stars died forever, even though people may not of expected him too!!!
