Labyrinthe Forum _ Church of the Lady of the Stars _ The Light of Gothiel

Posted by: OxMatt Jan 12 2015, 10:58 AM

Dear friends,

I note that the intense and felt presence of the Lady of the Stars, which has for a number of years made the city of Gothiel uncomfortable and unpleasant for those of dark heart, has now ended.

It may be advisable to make an attempt to restore that presence, before evildoers realise that Gothiel is no longer warded from them, and begin once more to reside within the city.

I wonder if this might provide a reason for a Church muster, since something of this sort has not occurred for some time?

Alternatively, if another ritual protection would be more appropriate, I would be delighted to assist in performing such.

Just say the word........

Horace

Posted by: OxMatt Jan 19 2015, 10:06 AM

Well, Horace, it currently appears that it may be you and I by ourselves.

I fail to see who else we could need, however, given our combined brilliance.

"What could possibly go wrong?"

Ignatius

Posted by: Stuart Jan 19 2015, 11:38 AM

I would be delighted to come along and witness your brilliance.

I could turn up! Last time I did that most of the church seemed to think it was wrong. But I haven't been out for a bit. I could leave the pig in charge.

Falorn

Mithaniel

Did someone say brilliance?

Ok... I'll be there. Wherever there will be.

Bradley

Posted by: OxMatt Jan 19 2015, 03:18 PM

I had best get to organising, in that case.

I shall be in touch.

Ignatius

I would be happy to travel too if I am free.

Aurora

OOC

I tried a couple of times to get a guild special going but i had no luck. If i am free i will play them, the points spread i think scares lower level people booking on.

OOC - Overlands as Owen, Caves as Guy or monstering/A-reffing at need.

Depends on dates. :-)

Tempted as Old Man Darig...

Or Tarquin if really low level.

Be seein' yer

Andy M.

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 3 2015, 08:34 PM

Yes - play Darig! I'm about to book this btw - probably for 26th September, subject to confirmation from Son Of. Will go for an unbalanced no max in the first instance.

Matt

Posted by: Christine Feb 3 2015, 09:01 PM

Oh dear. You're kind of making me want to play Falorn now, and no one wants that....

C

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 3 2015, 09:20 PM

I want that, it makes life more interesting. smile.gif

However, it might not be 26th September now, as apparently a bunch of people aren't around on that day. New date tba soon...

Matt

Posted by: dnsmantra Feb 3 2015, 09:35 PM

That's an FR weekend.

Huw

Posted by: TimTreadwell Feb 4 2015, 12:10 AM

Posted by: Sarah Feb 4 2015, 09:45 AM

Hi there all

Well I would like to come help, I may be little in power, but that does not bother me,
as long as their is Tea and lots of breakfasts....

So let me know and I will see if I can arrange between tea trading etc,

Midge

(OOC - unlikely to be able to afford a 3 day, but if you just do a normal dungeon I might be able to sort something out,
depends on dates and costs for me)

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 4 2015, 05:37 PM

You would be most welcome, Midge.

Ignatius

(20th June unbalanced no max with Lee as the ref has been booked....should appear soon....so get booking on!)

Posted by: miles Feb 4 2015, 05:43 PM

Clashes with the 9 day lead up so i will be missing this one.

Miles

Posted by: dnsmantra Feb 4 2015, 08:11 PM

Likewise, especially as it's the only leadup I can make.

Huw

This Church is deceased. It has expired. It has ceased to be. It is unliving. et cetera, et cetera.....

sad.gif

Will wait a few weeks to see if enough people book on, and if not, then will have a rethink.

Matt

Posted by: Gordon Feb 10 2015, 04:25 PM

Well I've booked on to boost the numbers too.

I'm in!

Possibly as a bumgoblin. Just to see matt's face when I turn up on time in...

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 10 2015, 04:36 PM

I have Wrath of the Lord now, Carlo, and turning up as a bumgoblin definitely counts as offensive against me. tongue.gif

Posted by: Loric Feb 10 2015, 06:58 PM

How many people do we need to make sure it goes ahead?

Posted by: ethuil Feb 10 2015, 06:59 PM

I'm on as Boo and/or Summer depending on how well Boo does with the inevitable need to explain herself.

If you play Boo I'll probably play Bradley over Bridley... Just to keep an eye and continue his continual denial of what he saw...

Posted by: Stuart Feb 10 2015, 07:46 PM

I'm booked as 'Kel.

Stuart

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 10 2015, 07:55 PM

Cool, we should be fine for numbers then. Fun party, too! More people very much encouraged, however. smile.gif

Matt

I'll facebook him.

Oh no, you need a wrestling partner. In matching masks. I have the one I started knitting for you somewhere, as well smile.gif Wasn't Kev as Tanis the Ultimate Burglar's wrestling buddy?

C

Posted by: giles Feb 17 2015, 09:46 PM

I'm sure I made a pair of silver wrestling masks.
Or one silver, one gold. Anyway am booked on if we can get a sitter

Posted by: Christine Feb 17 2015, 09:55 PM

I'm booked on, again sitter dependent, and on me being able to summon up the enthusiasm to play Falorn without Thomas being there to pick on. Does look like a lot of the old church though, so could be fun. Sort of fear what plot Son of might throw at us though....

C

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 18 2015, 11:23 AM

You should definitely play, and if you do I promise at least one Denning paraphrase, and/or quotation from the Civil Procedure Rules.

I cannot, however, promise the return of the Ultimate Burglar, as Kev is refusing to play Tanis. Obviously I cannot function without a tag team partner.

Matt

P.S. Newer people reading this thread, we're not all mad, honest. Possibly.

Posted by: Stuart Feb 18 2015, 11:45 AM

Given you, me and Christine are all there, I expect a full discourse on proprietary estoppel!

Stuart

Posted by: Christine Feb 18 2015, 12:17 PM

Playing the wrong character for legal discussions smile.gif

Posted by: Stuart Feb 18 2015, 12:17 PM

You're only there to cast Wrath of the Lords on him if he gets it wrong.

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 18 2015, 03:35 PM

I have Pure Force and Wrath of the Lords now, too. Just saying.

Matt

Posted by: JustinC Feb 18 2015, 05:02 PM

The bizarre epeen conversation between a pacifist vegan mercy-masochist and a stuttering insane obsessive compulsive knitter alone is worth the price of the dungeon.

The Church of the Lady of the Stars, where normal really is frowned upon.

JC

Posted by: Hulud Feb 22 2015, 07:32 AM

I'm really keen to play on one of these but as a barely 1k front line warrior I cannot help but feel that on a 'no max' (even unbalanced) I'll likely spend more time on my back than a 'twenny dollar whooer'

If I happen to be completely wrong in that assessment then do let me know.

Posted by: Stuart Feb 22 2015, 07:37 AM

I guess it depends on whether you're wearing THOSE trousers.

You were handed that one on a velvet cushion...'those' trousers have become somewhat worn out and I really should replace them but the new holes in them are actually quite convenient...I guess Ill have to start wearing underwear...

Don't worry mate, I'm in the same boat, I'm sure there will be a few things we can do. smile.gif

Posted by: OxMatt Feb 22 2015, 05:15 PM

I'm sure that Lee will write this for the party, and that there will be at least some encounters where people around 1K or under can get stuck in. The higher level people will happily be a bit more passive if it is obvious that an encounter isn't "for them", I suspect.

Also, I have Pure Force other and take killing blow, should things get real drastic....! wink.gif Do book on, it'd be great to see some new faces, so that I don't have to put up with all of these old-timers. tongue.gif

Matt

Posted by: JustinC Feb 23 2015, 10:08 AM

I'm happy to 'advise' as usual and be passive etc. I only really get invovled when Alan Wilson turns up.

JC

Guys it'll all be good!
Trust us, What could Possibly go wrong!

Booked on, will be playing Valentine and probably approaching 2k points by the time we play.

Posted by: TimTreadwell Feb 24 2015, 12:43 AM

Sad it's not an overland but will try to monster if I can. :-)
