Hi all,
(Am I allowed to post on this forum?) I have, as the title implies, 2 questions about the navy and cavalry. Well, a general question but anyway: Do they actually exist, and in what form? For example, I know we can't really phys-rep horses in game, but does that mean that the use of cavalry is nonexistent? And I know that gunpowder is nonexistent, so I'm assuming that there aren't any 18th-century type warships (sloops, frigates, ships-of-the-line etc.) or do they exist in another form (altogether?)? There are horses and boats.

Historically the Empire have never been big on cavalry preffering infantry and siege weapons. Also mercenaries to perform raids.

The Young Empire lost all its horses when they were all killed in a mysterious plague. Since then horses have been too hard to come buy and generally too valuable to use in battle. At least one modern mounted Held is actually a Held of Lizard like creatures rather than Horses. Horses also don't fare well in the cold of the north of the Empire, limiting their use and where they can be used. Only the very rich, the Nobility, and the richer ones at that, have been able to afford Horse Cavalry and usually as their honour guard rather than risk them on open battlefield. The last great armies of the Nobility were wiped out at the First Battle of Amora's Doom when the Circle invaded circa IM 997 / 998 (I can't remember the precise date off the top of my head). One such Mounted Held has recently been established.
The "One Winged Lancers" a Held of Heavy Cavalry raised and led by Lord Amorphus from his estates to the west of Sellaville.
