So I am a long ways along towards sorting a reunion from the infamous Chaos Myths.

Must be well over 15 years ago now that we descended on Bell Cottage, and had one of the most amazing myths ever. smile.gif

So the plan is a 2 day on the 25th and 26th June. Hoz has kindly offered to run it as part of his new campaign setting.

Spoken with and very likely to come along for at least one if not both days:

Me, Chris G, Rob Jopling, Alasdair, David Martin, Ben Dolley, Matt Howells, Martin Bailey.

With other spaces being filled by other current and old timer cavies. Hopefully Jamie Muggleton coming along for a bit.

Going to be mostly 5-6k range, but 1 or 2 that will be considerably lower or higher.

So reasons for posting...well firstly I know there were a good few that monstered that myths that are still around. So be great
to see them along too, welcome to fill the playing gaps or come monster again! Cant promise any small furry creatures with long claws
*shudders* but am sure Hoz will have a lot of fun stuff planned. smile.gif

Secondly anyone that wants to come beat on us be most welcome. It should be a fun couple of days. And anyone that is interested in playing,
feel free to drop me a mail. Will be closed to start with but like a nice full party so may well be opened up nearer the time anyway.

And anyone that has any advice on how we might turn these into overlands, that would be our definite preference. Well aware not that easy
nowadays, but any sites that are known of that might be possible please let me know.

Cheers,

Sean

Please do Ian, should be a lot of fun! smile.gif

So the plan atm is an overland on Saturday and caves on Sunday.

Its up for bookings on the website now. Couple of "guest spots" already been grabbed but quite likely be at least a couple more nearer the time.
So please just give me a shout if want to be put on the standby list.

As for memories, hmm like Ian mine are hazy! But here are a few:

1) The first time the NPC's attacked the cottage. I don't think I've ever seen such carnage so quickly and so completely in any rp adventure, ever, that compared!
2) The mass res, and the room like a furnace from all the candles. And Fenris sacrificing his furs item!
3) The scroll of res. The damned scroll! The only thing I ever saw truly terrify Soth!
4) Charlie casting a misremember, and then pretending to be some kind of slave master as we walked through an entire section.
5) Small furry things with sharp claws. *shudder*
6) The puzzle box. sad.gif
7) The interviews for joining the tribe! smile.gif

Cheers,

Sean

You forget (deliberately) the trapped house with the VERY cold chicken & mushroom pies, at least by the time we got to them. Except Machir and Soth who were on the side of the shades and happy to bumble around, but not feed us. (About the only time I have seen rope-trick used in anger).

And the classy vaulting of the barbed wire fence, with Gilbert Wolf (me) landing mid-vault. Man that hurt.

I still have nightmares about Ancient Folk Sorcerers. And those small things with claws....

And moving chameleons are soooo much easier to get these days. My character was rubbish on that myths!

But... bloody hell.... that puzzle box. Grr. 2 days and no-one solved it. Even with 100 power of comms and talk to shades...

The original dates for this clashed with the no max 4 day at the end of June.

As such we have changed to the 16th and 17th of July. Definitely will be opened up to those interested in Hoz's new campaign, probably soon after the forum on Spiter day that starts everything off.

Playing my paladin, so KOTL or non evil will probably get most out of the adventures.

Cheers,

Sean

((Below is an IC message I sent out to all those on the email list for the proposed chaos myths reunion. Just gives some background for the start of Hoz' upperworld campaign. It's less of a reunion now and more getting some people together that are interested in being part of a proper campaign,
hopefully with many of us playing together for semi regular adventures. But it will also be bringing together a few old players that have not been down in ages. Confirmed are Ben Dolley, myself, Chris G and Rob Jopling. Sarah Williams and a few of her crowd very likely to join us. And hopefully one or two other maybes will turn into definites. But regardless there are definitely going to be 4-6 spaces minimum I would say.
So if interested in being part of it from the beginning please pm me for the password to book on. Or I will open it up to public bookings in a week or so. We already have a very strong front line, so a healer be very welcome! Although its booked as a max 7.5k atm the pts spread looks to be roughly 6k to 9k, with majority at the lower end of that scale))

IC:

Greetings to ye all,

I have been searching for a Purpose since awakening. And last night I believe I found that Purpose.

There is a land in dire need of help. Fer those who accompanied me in our fight to save the land of Sienna it is a similar situation I fear. The land is named Upperworld, and tis somehow linked to the land of legend, a place well known to the knights of the land, but one of which I know little.
But apparently this Upperworld lies above the lands of legend, fer those who understand more of cosmology than I. And the death yesterday of the Spiter, a demon god, has somehow brought this land closer to our own, and opened pathways that have long been closed.

There are hordes of demons plaguing this land. Led by demonic deities, or would be deities. And if they succeed in their goals in Upperworld, an invasion of Labyrinthia seems very likely to be their next goal.
Regardless of whether that threat is real or not, these people need help. Demons are in the process of overrunning entire cities, and capturing thousands of tribesmen to sacrifice in their unholy rituals to empower their "gods".

Firstly I met a man, who claimed to be a merchant. From the city of Lands End. He is some kind of beggar king, and was handing out tokens that he claims will make any beggar in the cities of this world more amenable to helping us. I later found out this man is an assassin and a jaguar warrior if that means anything. And seems to be one of the Lords of this world. And I was warned he is very untrustworthy. However his information seemed genuine.
That there is another city named Oceans End, a city of some 25,000 goodly elves including some spirit elves from the land of legend. And this city is on the verge of being overrun by a demonic army in the service of a demon lord named Bhaal. He seemed to believe it would be quite possible to get into the city and then hopefully find a way of aiding the elves of this city. Perhaps by defeating this Bhaal. Cutting off the head of the snake as he put it.

Thereafter I met another man, a barbarian king who seemed honourable and whom has very little time for this beggar king. I have never met a human like him, he seemed like a...high human is the best description I can give. He says his entire people are like him, they exude power and a purity of Purpose. And as such if sacrificed by the demons they will give immeasurable power to them. Their women and children and many others of their tribes have been captured by a separate demon host. These serve another demon lord, who seems more powerful and a greater threat than this Bhaal.
I believe the name was Khorthos, it was something like that, I fear my memory fer names is poor. If not already a god, then he is on the verge of becoming one. And as said, these tribespeople that are to be sacrificed will give him immense power. The tribesmen were being held somewhere named Hells Gate, a demonic fortress. Though some mention was also made of another place called the Arc of Fire. The barbarian king feared his people were being moved about between these two locales, further scrying and divinations would probably be necessary before any rescue attempt.

Both these threats are likely to be resolved, one way or another, before we could all gather and venture to this Upperworld...

((the campaign starts on June 11th, and this is the plot for the campaign start. Our adventures on the 16th and 17th of July will be the second instalment in the campaign))

...it is my intent to be there and do what I can to aid these people, and I will be travelling to this world and planning to stay there fer quite some time to learn as much as I can and aid in any way that I may. But it seems certain that given the power and size of these demonic hordes plaguing the land, many such excursions will be needed. So I wanted to give you an idea of the situation and hope that some of my old allies will once again fight at my side for such a cause.

Other things I learned. Many of the demons are black skinned and there was some talk of some having six arms. They are mostly what the people of Upperworld call sorcerial, in our parlance mantic. And the barbarian king was quite insistent that if we help his people he will reward us with crystal weapons and artifacts that are also sorcerial. Obviously that was not of much interest to me but I am sure would be to some.

The barbarian tribes reside far to the north and have been in constant battle. I believe against frost giants. There is also a human regent who has been recently slain by other lords of this land, and replaced. Some kind of internal political dispute, something I learnt very little of, but that may become important later.

I think this is all I can tell ye for now, but I truly hope some of ye hear this call and can come!

May Harmony guide yer thoughts and Purpose yer actions,

Sirac Drakeson
