Dear new colleagues!
I have recently joined the hallowed halls of DORAC - a life-long adventurer and explorer, I've been searching for lost histories and hidden treasures since childhood but on my first outing as a mercenary, I was lucky to have some very capable comrades but realised that should we come across relics of evil power, I did not know how do deal with these. I am aware that some of our more powerful colleagues do go out together at times but I was firstly wondering whether there were any plans for some outings for the newer members of this group to help to educate us and provide more experience in what it takes to be an effective agent of DORAC? I would also humbly ask whether the department has any resources of which I may avail myself in my travels - I'm planning on venturing out again in a couple of weeks and being a creature of magic, may often find survival more of a challenge than maybe for others. Any assistance, advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Monty |

Greetings Mr Monty
As a lonely clerk that has been assigned to ...err... administer the affairs of a certain associate of ours let me greet you to the Department Halls well more like a few secluded offices and some very dangerous storage rooms that due to the contents should not be entered, but before I blunder into things that will get this communication redacted, censored then destroyed via a disruption, which is quite effective against paper that's been soaked in oil before hand. Alas looking at the information available to me as i have seen some triplicated, stamped and sealed forms pass by i do not think that there is anything special planned for the less experience mercenaries in the near future. However members of our department can always keep an eye out when out and about for you never know what terrible world / plane or reality shattering artefact you may stumble across doing other mission or you could always see if one of the superiors in the department might sanction an minor jaunt (check forums for interest / contact booking line to arrange something suitable for you) as there is always some report that needs looking into in our in trays. If you do come across a dangerous artefact a reminder to bag and tag it and return it to your nearest Inquisition office if your are able to transport it safely, the department will assess the artefact and depending of quality and our available funding a reward will be handed to you. if you are unable to bring in a dangerous artefact best course of action if you are unable to make the item safe is to report its location to the department / inquisition as soon as possible. in the mean time if possible get the area it is in sealed off with resources available ideally with a legion or two, but realistically the local watch might be the only thing available. And be sure to make them understand that the artefact is extremely dangerous and someone more powerful will be coming to deal with it. Please take note that there is a difference between what is a dangerous artefact and what would be considered evil and useful, after some training with the department those mercenaries that have a little bit of experience in the field are able to recognise what is dangerous. Depending on funding levels (OOC: depending on available benefit tiers) The Department will supply in order: A trinket that will only last for one mission, but will be able to cast a single spell of up to 6th rank or a miracle of the 4th of your choice The quartermaster may supply you with some scrolls that should be useful according to inquisition, I cannot reveal how they know because it is above my pay-grade (ooc: need to ask the ref before dungeon for a total of 10 power points of scrolls either magical or spiritual that will be useful on the dungeon, note: that phys reps required for scrolls and also these maybe useful on your dungeon but not necessarily usable by you) And if maximum funding is restored then you may choose some wares for the Inquisition stores (OOC: advanced tier which might be back due to recent guild dungeons is 12 isp of standard items as per dealer) (ooc: not sure if there is a guild box for guild funds / item or not) I hope this has been of some use, if you do run into any other from our department they may be able to assist as members of our department are quite varied Mr I N Bezel Department of Recoveries and Collections Inquisition -------------------- J - The thing known as Dog
