Silver Swordsman Options

So,

I picked up a Silverswordsman in the Lucky Dip, which is cool.

However it has two issues:

Firstly I don't like playing Outlawed races

Secondly there is the +25% buy as penalty.

So, I'm interested in what people have done to get round these two issues with Silverfolk in the past.

I have some vague ideas but can't think up any restrictions to offset those.

How about...

Reconditioned - The Mentatus have had limited success reconditioning some Gyth found by mercenaries and left in the state of being VOP'd Supend Life'd or similar rather than just killed when claiming their Grulls.

No longer outlawed but has a conditioned heart stop if becomes outlawed or knowingly attacks an Imperial Official.

No longer has to report home so loses additional buy as cost however still not entirely capable of playing well with others losing access to Social guilds.

something like if you are separated from your sword you becomes unavoidably diseased... (fairly harsh... but situational)
maybe he traded off a guild slot? or make it so you gain guilds tables later due to inquisitional retraining or in a similar vein write a status that takes up your political (?) guild slot to make you unoutlawed and gives you some neuronic bits aswell (retraining style thing again)

just a few ideas.

maybe the restriction of having to attack other gyth on sight? silver warden style restrictions.

Swap it with someone who got something else that is of interest to you?

You have been arrested and your sword has been confiscated to keep you in line, but you have been partially reprogrammed and released into the public on parole.
You may use no weapons other than your silver sword.
Under certain circumstances the offices of the Menatus will allow you access to your weapon. You can summon your sword back for 5 minutes at a time as a neuronic ability costing X TBLP. This ability can only be used in self defence.
If you become outlawed they break your sword, killing you along with it in a similar manner to conditioned heartstop, but it only kicks in when your sword goes back to them.

From this, maybe some innates of having a friend in the people guarding your sword who can cast off-dungeon fireblades, apply poisons, blade sharpening and assorted other odds and ends.

Takes up Tradition slot.
Is not outlawed.
Does not have to pay +25% cost on post 8th abilities.
Does not have to kill / harm non-Gythanki psionicists.
Other Gythanki have to attack me as if I were not a Gythanki

Much along the lines I was thinking, the crucial trick I missed was sacrificing a guild slot, which should work nicely as a balancing restriction

Tradition is basically out as the pts apps that came with it was the Tradition plus addons for the Tradition and they are rather nifty.
