Hi guys, I'm designing a crest and I need a bit of help. I'm also gonna need a name and a family tree I guess, but first things first:

I've decided that I will split it in four and have each section represent a virtue, with strength, courage, honor and chivalry. Each section will have an animal, but I haven't decided yet. I know for a fact that honor will be a lion (they're regal), and strength will be a bear (you can figure that one out). Any ideas?

Chivalry to my mind would be a Unicorn...

Ok, now there is the matter of actually getting the images on the material, which for the record, is a cut up pillow case (stylish, I know). I've tried drawing my own, which obviously didn't work, as the images looked horribly scruffy. I also tried tracing it through the sheet over the image, and that hasn't worked either. Any ideas?

Try printing on some T-shirt transfer paper, and ironing it on?

for crests I found best thing is keep it simple the more complex the design the harder to get the costume

Remember not all coat of arms have to have creatures on them, many were just colours, hence the term flying the colours. Many were two to four colours intersecting or ontop of each other, take a look online there are many coat of arms makers online.

Seriously consider the following...

Look on Biker sites for 'patches'. And find an existing large patch that suits your purpose (embroidered). Then order it, iron on and stitch to your costume and hey-presto!

This will look SOOO much better than a DIY job.

I managed to do it by tracing over an ipad in a dark room. Thanks for the suggestions though. Now all I need to do is stich the folds in and go over the crest in material marker.
