Just wanted to say a big thank you to Rich for last night's dungeon. Tough and fun - big thanks to Ed, Matt, Tim and Dave too (and anyone else I missed) - really challenging and enjoyable. Looking forward to the next installment - hopefully someone will be able to ref. I'm reffing the 19th which should have a fainly Christmassy theme - though will still be a proper dungeon (not Xmas special)

thanks all

Giles.

QUOTE(NickBurne @ Nov 15 2017, 03:40 PM) *
I recently saw a new map with various changes, such as the removal of Keys and the addition of Rodanne.

Does anyone have a digital copy that could be uploaded to the downloads section?

Thanks in advance. :]

A quick check of the Events diary will tell you that the ref was Ed Insley.
I suggest you Message him and politely ask what points you got - you can then write
them on your card and the Desk can sign them on for you the next time you are down the caves.
Or equally they will be on the Debrief sheet which Duncan could probably dig out for you. But I'd suggest just asking Ed.

I'm endlessly surprised to hear that it's still getting bad press at fest - the info that's based on I think is about 30 years old from a couple of photos in GM magazine that had monsters wearing jeans.
I agree photos are a nice way to recall old events - broadly as long as the photographer doesn't intrude on the running of the event itself - which I'm sure Marcus would avoid. Sounds a cool idea,

Yes Lord Inquisitor do as you're told.
Since when did the Empress put the Church of the Tryst in charge.
I was there at the Dawn and Senator Be'Akris seemed to be under the impression it was going to be returned to him,
that's what the person keeping it company in the tavern had agreed. Maybe he changed his mind.
It seems no one can be trusted where this book is concerned.
I'm inclined to agree with Ignatius, it's more trouble than it's worth, best destroy it, like its author intended, should be easy if it's limp and without power. But then what would I know, I'm just a Yeoman.

Sometimes people surprise you indeed. I am awestruck to be honest. He was clearly wrestling with his conscience from the moment he turned up. I wasn't there for the end, for which I am sorry, but I applaud his bravery and am glad that the people of Tivoria now have a chance. Bravo Darren.

Um - I don't want to be unreasonable - but Nick is currently booked to monster for me on the pre-8th.
If the 2 day needs him - that's fine, we will manage, but could someone let me know preferably before Sunday.

Always a pleasure Governor, and my very best to Mrs Winterbottom.
I'd be interested to know what might happen is we were to get any of the gods to go back thorugh one of these doors to Tivoria?
Though I'd advocate deferring to Liara in these matters

You are quite correct ma'am - hadn't occurred to me, presumably makes it difficult to use the right to deal with Rachane either.
Darren - at least one of them is a burning sun - so your plan might have a few stumbling blocks

I don't disagree with you but I am not sure 'destroying him' is something we can do, I also think it's playing into the Watcher's hands.
One thing occurs to me - could we use the rite that Louhi uses on Rachane himself?
Could we use it on Louhi?

My personal view is that the Watcher is trying to preserve Tivoria because there is power there that he needs to tap until he can become a god on Primus in his won right - hence getting Louhi to build a shrine.
I think going ahead sending them back to Tivoria and I include Rachane - might neutralise them as a threat, but also save that place or at least reconstitute it.

I see no point in discussing this elsewhere as she's listening anyway.

My initial thoughts are that -

is there some way we can make Louhi's brothers and sisters (that are left) not part of his family?
eg. get them ritually adopted out in some fashion. Admiral Rivan Trakand would be the most obvious person I could think of to adopt them - he's alfari, founder of Port Miere and well suited by outlook and profession?

Next point - if we could discover the ritual that Louhi used to summon Kurshid - could we use it to summon Kurshid back to his/her city on Tivoria?
If I had to make a guess - whilst Tivoria persists - the gods don't need followers and shrines and such - as they are subsisting on what they have from there. The Watcher and who he wants to join him (Kurshid for some reason) is having a shrine built so he will continue - at some point the net will be removed and the others will no longer be sustained. Rachane presumably can exist from what he has fed on. Maybe Kurshid has been put there by the Watcher as something to distract Rachane whilst the Watcher works out how to deal with him (or manipulate us). Anyway it's an idea.

I defer to you Liara and what question you think is important, but I'd like to know how we go about rebinding the gods/city spirits to Tivoria?

I think Nick has a point - particularly re. getting to 8th. I recall fondly as a child the excitement of trying to get to 8th. It was a real challenge. I know now that for many players it is just a minor inconvenience - but for newer returning players that is a lot of what they remember and what they enjoyed - tying this to ministering - newer players are more likely to monster - there's still the novelty element.

The other point that I think needs to be made is that no other system runs as frequently as the caves - multiple events every weekend - linear dungeons with large numbers of encounters - so you're on your feet all day - a lot of the player/monster base has been doing this for 10-20+ years broadly people are increasingly less likely to monster randomly - they're there for a specific event, person etc. Rewards will help - and I really don't see the issue with constantly changing monster rewards to entice experienced monsters in with novelty. Possibly less time pressured linear dungeons, maybe less combat orientated but then you are starting to change a formula that for players at least is tried and tested.

He was more than just a friend. I loved him.
I will miss the sound of his tiny axes on the backs of our enemies,
I will miss the his ever so slightly blue face
I will miss watching him as he slept.
Mostly I miss his lateness
I am sure he will return, but it will not be the same.
I have decided to build a life size statue of him in my gardens.
I will not be able to eat grapes without thinking of him.
Farewell lovely Garrus, though you die, you die a Path-Major in the Imperial Scouts

-Congratulations you have won 1st prize and a place on Gressen’s newest and most luxurious skyship.A luxury cruise across the azure skies of Primus awaits. See the Sellaville Font of Fire, catch a glimpse of the Inner City, gawp at the Athfash Ban Mir, marvel at the ornamental gardens of Amlas, look in wonder at the lost sights of Secundus.
- Phew, you have managed to sneak aboard a massive skyship in Gressen, with any luck you’ve lost the people chasing you and will be able to stow away onboard until you can find a Walk on Air spell.
-You’ve signed on as a member of the crew of a truly magnificent skyship in Gressen, you’ve always longed to explore.
Etc. for these and many other reasons you are on board the luxurious skyship ‘Sylph Titan’ everything is going brilliantly: great food, wonderful company, incredible sights – right up until something strikes the ship. A searing ball of flame strikes the woven rites which are keeping you upright and then the ship plummets like a stone, somewhere above the jungle above Ishma, you brace yourself for impact . . .

(This is tomorrow's brief - basically the above are some of perhaps many reasons you will have to be on board)

She was very brave, and faced her fate cheerfully and without complaint. I think she knew she would not survive but carried on tending the wounded all the same. My commiserations to those who knew her better. I hope she will be reborn, and in anticipation will raise a glass to her and her fellow knights.

I think we should be thinking on how to get these 'city gods' from Tivoria back to Tivoria. It may be that this is not perfect and may have to change but it sets us on a path to find what word they said and who told all of them the word. They were spirits/gods of cities - finding a way bring them back may solve the problem of the Devourer. The Watcher wanted the land saved for a reason - can we discover that reason?

Why not just go Spy? And put in a 1 liner - buy as Awakener?
I think you're unlikely to get the Active/ Passive tree best bits passed as a multi class - would just buy it anyway - I doubt it will be any cheaper

Massive thanks from me too for a great event. Huge thanks to Rob and Ed for a fantastic 3 day - loads of effort, so much fun - great plot and props with loads of variety, enjoyed every minute. Likewise, huge thanks to the vast horde of monsters - to the stalwarts and to all the drive bys - you were all a pleasure to fight and role play with. Likewise thanks to a great no stress party who were great fun to hang around with.
I really enjoyed the huge variety of sections - so much to do - so thank you also to anyone who contributed and lastly thanks to Rich for sorting/cooking food etc.

Many, many thanks to everyone

Huge thanks to Rebecca for reffing, Tiffer and Pete for crewing. I had a great time - fun fights, sometimes brutal and massive, in depth plot. Really good day with lots to ponder/ work out.

Many thanks,

Start a Silver Warden, buy Trained Warrior (50 pts T 1) - buy as 1st Class Warrior
If you want a Multi Race - then buy Hardened Warrior (costs you your Warrior Tradition - but probably worth it)

I'm not sure that OOC organising a guild special equates to a deserving an IC benefit?
If the club and those who run it want less Guilds then the current system seems fine. The
majority of players it seems are struggling to run guilds under the current system. My own view is that
If a bunch of players are reffing and monstering a guild special then they are doing just as much
to keep the guild system running and why not reward them with guild maintenance as Rich says.
The game we have at the moment will not support the guilds we have, under the current system = less guilds
less choice. I can't see how in a system that prides itself on its huge range of options this is a good thing. I'm less fussed that it used to be harder to maintain guilds: more people played, different circumstances. Are guilds potentially unfair - yes some guilds are, but so are non standards, ns rebirths, myths items, etc. the difference is that anyone can join.

Ma'am,

to expand on what I mentioned earlier about changing the mantle of the Reaver. Primal mantles/deities call them what you will reflect certain archetypes, or are the personification of that thing. Yet the individual who takes on the mantle doesn't become the Mantle, rather it becomes them.
There have been a number of different Forges - each of them retained their identity. Also and I don't think the answer is known, but it is something that can be speculated on: are there a limit on what primal mantles there are. Ie. there currently exist The Murder, The Trickster, The Reaver, The Forge, The Empress, The Tranquil, The Soldier (Milo). There may well be others - The Robber Baron and the Mouse Lord for example. Are there others and are there a limit? We do not for example - to my knowledge, have a Primal deity/mantle of The Baker. Or less mundane - the Mage (though after this message, give it a couple of days) - though perhaps Elemental Lords fulfil a similar function (maybe not). Also the mantle can remain empty for many years with no discernible ill effect to Primus - any of the above have not always had an incumbent. Also some have been created - the Empress being the most obvious example. And they can presumably be destroyed (the Spiter). So presumably it is possible to either destroy the mantle or repurpose it and transform it.
