Bearing in mind Rachel may book off which may mean others do, this is my party list divided by guild. Characters and points would be helpful!

Shaehan

Jack
Paul
Tim
Rachel
Carlo
Connor

Buggledexters

Matt
Lee
Fi
Dave
Jon
Josh

Josh can switch to Shaehan if needed.

It's finely tuned to make sure we get 6 of each so more monsters would ensure we could book a couple extra!

So, what are people playing? smile.gif

This is horrible news.

I’m down 10,000 Grulls!

I literally had bets that ‘Dargoth’ was just biding his time in the knights and making friends while a weak mercenary only then to be some notorious villain in 5 years or so (well, at the rate of mercenaries these days, 5 weeks - including Thorsdays) He always seemed like a nice bloke, but when a nice bloke has a dark soul you have to wonder what they’re playing at. I thought he was just playing some sort of assassin long game.

Anyway, I’m not really that much of a dick. Whatever Liara might say - but what a great and surprising end for the bloke. That’s a lot of people alive thanks to you.

Well done Dargoth - there’s a place for you at Sorcha’s Table for a beer or two to celebrate.

Oh my. What a shame.

Garrus was a tidy chap. Always dressed well and smart.

I'll remember those times in Rostal, staring over prophecies, collecting flowers, making cats cradles and let's not forget, having our skulls crushed by that orc tribe with nothing but a stare.

But, the bodies we leave behind are just shells and old homes. And when we move home, it's more often than not somewhere better.

His soul will find a new home soon, and I'm sure he'll join us.

May the blessing of the mother and the other guide him on his way.

Blessed Be Garrus, Blessed Be

Alright fellow mercenaries.

I wouldn't normally bother with this [----]. On account that us mercenaries have this gift/curse to just keep coming back.

But you know what - this bloke was proper special. He healed you without any stress, even if perhaps with a sigh or quip about the big shield on your back and how you should probably use it more. Or how, that Shard he gave you bound with healing miracles could probably have saved your life from that deadly hippo man. Or how you should just learn to hit harder.

He was a good bloke. And I don't just mean because he could heal, but because he gave everyone a chance - and if they fucked it up he would have no gripes in giving all he could to put things right. Either by healing his friends while they kicked the bad peoples heads in - or if even, we weren't doing it right he would kick their heads in himself. Sometimes even better than we could manage.

Although, to stay on track. The important bit remains is that we kicked their heads in. Whoever they may be. Assuming they wasn't us.

He was always one step ahead too. He sent his mates a letter after his final death, and made sure we were all looked after. I mean, I did it too - but I think anyone in the Dales has a letter in case of death because well - it just happened quite a lot.
The Torsland Dales were dangerous. And fun. And we all shed so much blood, vitae, sweat and tears there. But among all that shared shed body fluid, we had a huge amount of laughs too. Anyway, I lost my point somewhere. Probably after body fluid.

To those that knew him, raise a tankard of ale and a good bacon sandwich, and just think about him for a bit.

He may be back soon, bigger, better, tougher (ha!), but I still think it's important to remember his last life cos you know - what if his next life he is different, and like a Half Bronze Drave Friar of the faith of Sorcha or something. Actually I joke... but if that is what he was, he'd still work out a way to kick all our heads in if we got out of line.

Anyway Theo, enjoy your well earned rest. Thanks for being my friend. I'll bang that drum especially for you in your memory.

Anarchus,

Hero of Legend,

Legend of Primus,

You and I were more alike than I would ever have cared to admit in your presence.

From Shayle, to Legend, through the several different bodies in which I knew you - Angel, Phoenix, Demon - you were always the same person, with the same conviction and morals. It didn't ever matter which powers you called in which form, you were always you - Anarchus - High Priest of St Michael. You never changed one bit - and if people think you had, your friends knew you hadn't.

You had many sayings that many priests of light have been shocked by over the years, and will be legendary throughout the years to come.

You were well respected by many. A brother to many, and a friend to many more. For a man so devout to his faith, you managed to accumulate many friends along your 3 decades of fighting evil.

Even if you do not get to rest by your Lord's side, even if you never walk side by side with your friends again - your memory will live on eternally in those who's lives you touched, and in those who would only know you as Legend.

Rest well my friend.

I spent a week of my mercenary life with Sirac over a decade ago.

He had strong morals, and tough Oaths.

He stuck by them. They were mostly un-necessary - but one has to respect any creature capable of doing so. I did often test his patience, for nothing more than to amuse myself, but he always kept his calm, harmony and purpose.

I have performed a reading for his life, death and future.

In his immediate future, I see silence. I do not think we will see him for a while.
I see travelling, a journey, a pilgrimage - to find who he is to be, and become.
I see who he is to become, to be part of something else. Part of something important - but I cannot see what.
His life to come, will be entwined with another.

May the fate of the Tapestry be kind to you.

Worry not Knights,

If he is lost and alive within the 'Nacht, he will be found.

If he is lost and dead within the 'Nacht, I will create a body for him using the elements and the spirits of light - and call his spirit back to it.

This will be resolved.

Boo!

Poor Sana.

I always trusted him completely. I mean, he was never ever wrong about anything. Even if he spoke a bit funny sometimes, with big words I couldn't understand or just by using too many, I just knew I could trust him, and that he was probably right.

He always guided people around him, without sounding bossy. He had a charm to go with his knowing everything, which meant you never just looked at him and thought he was up his own wings or anything. He was like, some sort of mystical ranger... guiding people to their right paths and things. Unlike an actual ranger, guiding on real paths he was more... um... oh I don't know. He would have told me the right word to use.

The sad thing is him not returning. The Cycle of Life can be cruel sometimes. But the bestest that we can do is remember him, for the good he did and for the things he taught us all.

Rest well old friend. The Ribbon Fairies will celebrate your life tonight with silver ribbons everywhere.

I don't know where to start.

I've spent more time with Owen than any other of my friends while out being a mercenary and doin good. Sometimes, even no good.

You know what, I've had run ins with pretty much all of my friends at some point. Except him.

We never once disagreed on anything. Well, maybe he did but he never told me and always supported me and was on my side. Whether I was off smiting the unsmitable evil, or just trying to do good in the most stupid way possible.

He was one of the Prophets of Danger. We spent one summer singing, and playing and smiting zombies.

He was one of the most devoted men I know, and always thought of himself before others. I honestly lost count of the amount of times he would put himself before others.

I don't have the words. I just don't, but I have songs.

A Mercenary Group we are here for the day
They have asked us to leave but we won't go away!
We are here for a drink and to sing us some songs
No zombies to fight and no rights to set wrong!

The problem of course is wherever we stay,
it turns out we turn up on just the right day
for a zombie attack or the Spiter's great hordes
Some light entertainment so we don't get bored

The Prophets of Danger yes that's what we're called
We talk loads of rubbish and our jokes don't get old,
We love, and we laugh and we fight and we flail,
Now settle you down while we sing you our tale

There's Owen Bridgewater none better than he,
Shooting down sinners with that look of glee
And he follows it up, with his special long shot
I'm glad he's my friend, can't imagine him not

I'll miss you Owen. May the Lady of the Stars and Skies look after you for a bit. Rest well. Watch out for bumgoblins.

You will never walk, alone my friend.
Memories, never die
In our hearts, you'll always be
As to Heaven you will fly.

Hi All

1st time come across Terror this weekend and was wondering if there are any other instant kills that are upgrades/non-standard of a standard ability that instant kills.

to my VERY limited knowledge the "instant" kill list is;

Touch of Death
Disease (ok takes some time)
Avenging spirit
Terror
That black mana spell (forget the name) where immunity to shape shifting applies
level drained to zero

thanks in advance

Good topic - but I personally hate instant kill effects - especially non standard ones where the immunity is normally non fatal. I.e. Terror.

There's just no knowing. I've seen stuff like - die unless immune to spiritual freedom before, the sort of immunity you just wouldn't buy.

That's when universal retros come in and it all gets a bit shakey.

I'm just sticking to pre 5250 stuff to avoid this sort of thing and having a great time.

Yeah, I have 'spirit tracking' for max - if I cast spirit of seeing/and hearing into tracks, I get the info from the spirits that had passed by, sizes, alignments, what they were thinking etc.

I also had, spirit of seeing could be used as a clairvoyance.

I look forward to speaking to you in greater depth about a suitable blade and will be interested to get advice from such an experienced smith

I probably could. But I'm really bad at it.

Like, so bad the weapon would probably lose the soul bound to it just as you were about to strike a killing blow to a Wight or
Something.

Or I'd lose a hand. And then become even more useless because then I couldn't even carry the bags and potions for the more useful mercenaries.

Oh, or an eye. And the last thing you want is a blind psychic wandering about destroying the wrong minds.

I mean, less of a problem - if I'm around I'd only be surrounded by undead, golems and elementals anyway.

Maybe I shouldn't try. I'll make you a pretty crystal instead. I'll try to make sure it doesn't cut you.

Hey everyone,

I don't post often these days, and I tend not to write thank you posts very often (and perhaps I should) but I just thought I would cover a huge thank you all in one.

I have to admit, my interest in the caves was fading a little - due to the lack of extended length happening, that and a lot of my friends almost 'moving over' to other systems to experience the extended length experience that was starting to lack at the caves a little.

But, I have to say a huge thanks to the Fromum, who has taken a great deal of time and effort organising events, crew, refs, players, mothers, sites, tidying up... he has quite literally been involved in almost all of them to make sure they have run smoothly, and in different capacities. I'm fairly certain this year boasts a record number of extended events of all sorts of levels and themes, creating a high level of involvement and excitement for players across the board.

If it wasn't for him, and for all these extended lengths happening, I'm not sure I would have played any cave dungeons at all this year bar perhaps 2. Because of these events I have booked on to play up my characters, and booked onto events after because characters just seem to become more interesting for me after extended events rather than just double lengths.

There have been loads already which seemed to have run really well, and still a good handful to go! I for one, am already excited about what next year will bring and hope we get the same level of variety of events. I'll even ref another (hmm... an actual 3 day faery carnival anyone? :-)

Of course, thanks to everyone involved, to the players/crew/ref teams - and of course not to mention the CMT for all their support in helping this all happen. I'm normally fussy and hard to please as I get older (I've hit over 40 extended events!) but I've enjoyed every single one this year.

Well done Fromum! Looking forward to another 8 events next year - thanks to everyone involved in all of them.

Carlo

Golden golem goes down if the caster runs.

If the caster has been effected by a knock back/repulsion/water cannon etc. Does that break the golden golem?

Thanks

No

Hey Trellis,

Welcome. And - good luck!

She is the Lady of the Stars and Skies by the way. It might sound like I'm trying to be funny, but it's really important and people keep forgetting.

As some elf* once said - "there is more to the world than just stars". Please remember that, Remember Her brothers and sisters and look to them when you're lost, and whatever spot of bother you're in, there will be one there to help you.

If you need anything, I still have loads of stuff kicking around back from when I was a bit of a wrong'un, you need only ask.

Good Fortune be with you, and may the Valar guide your thoughts.

Bradley Baker
Champion of the Stars

*of course, I mean no disrespect - not that he would care anyway, but Evensong said that, and it changed my life.
