Posted by: whiteknight May 16 2016, 12:47 PM

Hi,

I have booked onto ref. Dungeon is now written - some minor tweaks before the day no doubt.

If you are booked on feel free to let me know what you are playing.

If you are booked to monster - let me know your email and you can have the dungeon straight away.

An IC brief will appear shortly - please also keep one eye on the forum as you may find some "notices" that may be relevant to your day.

Ta muchly.

Rich

Urthank (Thuggo) the Dancing Orc, 6th-level bodyguard
Baras the Bard, 6th-level blue wizard

I'll be playing a 6th level Alfar Warrior (maybe Wind Dancer if pointsapp went through).

Posted by: Rethrisse May 18 2016, 06:38 PM

I'll be playing Cyrus, who will be a 7th-level Seer (going on the pre-8th on the 22nd and will use a ref point, if they can still be used that way).

A duellist and (possibly) a wind-dancer? That's going to make for some interesting tactics in combat, given that neither class can use shields or heavy armour, but I think it should be an interesting adventure. I tried to solo a dragon last time though, with predictable results, so my idea of fun might be a little off.

I will be going as my level 6 pure priest Sheppard

Posted by: whiteknight May 20 2016, 12:18 PM

Also - anyone playing you will level up at lunch time (as only a small party) so 1 level up - it would be great if you could bring a second battle board to reflect this.

I'll be 8th and some (dungeoning once to level 6, then spending a point at the start of this dungeon to go to 7). Will that be okay? I don't intend to have any points spent post-8th because I don't have enough monster points yet.

Yes going to 8th during the day is fine with me.

After playing my seer, I realised that he was incredibly boring. I will be a normal 4th level Human Warrior. I'll still spend ref points at lunch to go to 8th, though.

I am happy for you to spend your ref points and start him at 8th if you would like.

While I was kind of looking forward to the challenge of swashbuckling without a tank to fall back on, I think you just doubled my chance of surviving the day.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to book off :-(

You rock, my friend.

Hi - booked on to play a Druid! I'll be Ref-pointing up to 8th.

I'll have a shield and won't be afraid to cower behind it!

Tim.

Posted by: AnthonyHJ May 26 2016, 06:16 PM

I don't have a shield or even the skill to use one, but I think I'm too stupid brave to use one anyway. Wouldn't fit my idiom.

Speaking of idioms, how... serious were we expecting this adventure to be on a scale of Game of Thrones to Monty Python and the Holy Grail? I only ask because-- did I mention the dancing orc?

I saw the A-Ref today who promised a fun day (meaning you'll most likely live through it).

Gutted I can't make this after all.

Deadly serious my friend. My amusing penguin encounter was yesteryear.

The pressure is on now Tim - I hope my dungeon will meet your high standards.

Thank-you so much to the team who made this possible and to my fellow players. This was quite a day, even if Antoine was often too drunk to fully appreciate it. Lots of great characters, well-played monsters and enough risque banter to make even a gentleman of Deci blush.

And my apologies again for my part in that terrible business with the testicular distress.

Posted by: Rethrisse May 28 2016, 09:47 PM

Wonderful job from all of the crew, thank you guys so much - that's the best adventure I've had in quite some time smile.gif first class stuff.

Posted by: TimTreadwell May 29 2016, 07:14 AM

Thanks for a great day Rich. Well statted & written. We all had a great time & our brand new warriors got stuck in as well.

The near constant party banter was hilarious.

Thanks everyone that was a great day, really enjoyed it. Was a really good adventure and the character to character rapport and jokes were outstanding. Ben (Urthank). Tootie lootie?

Posted by: basil May 30 2016, 07:20 AM

If anyone there fancies hooking up in the book of faces please feel free to request me (pref with a message): Ben Tidman.

Just a quicky to say Thanks to everyone who made me and Roz (lonestar) very welcome and helped us with everything and gave us loads of advice we was both impressed and very happy and had loads of fun even though we do need to work on it a bit lol.

Once again Thank you everyone and Rich for everything and see you on the battle field next time

Posted by: AnthonyHJ Jun 1 2016, 11:18 AM

I'm glad you both had fun. I remember LRP being a little daunting when I started, but you seemed to be getting into it. I think the banter is a little less adult normally, but that was only my second session as a player (third if you include monstering) so I'm hardly the most experienced swashbuckler.
