Brothers

On Starsday 5th Februar the passing of the Final Dawn happens within The Land of Legend, much as with Primus, various things change and come to be at this time. This is also traditionally when the new Lord Knight is announced.

As you may be aware, there are certain things due to happen at this dawn for the safety and defence of Legend and his people.

Firstly, the realm spirit currently within a temporary host needs to be transfered to a stronger and more long term host. We are aware that the safest way to do this is to create a pocket plane where only the current and new host will enter and then persuade the realm spirit to switch hosts. The Lord of Bones has more details on the exact methods to go about this that will be provided in due course. Lord Robert has made his decision on the new host and will be revealed on the day. Obviously our enemys and those seeking power for themselves may attempt to stop or disrubt our plans, seeking the power for their own. I would ask all knights present to be on guard and on the look out for anything suspcious over this time and inform Lord Robert or a Lord of Order if unsure.

With the turning of the dawn the Chaos Isles will vanish from Legend, being destroyed as they were not origionally part of it, only being held there by a pact broken with the undoing of the time ritual. It is therefore important that all innocent people are off the Isle's when this happens. With the aid of the Air Wyrms we have been able to transport off the members of the Court of Bone and Count of Embers and freed and rescued the slaves held by the Court of Bronze. The Court of Brass and Court of Peacocks still remain, and it may be that we need to go secure their safety. I am awaiting reports back to confirm this.

Additionally. having prevented his previous plans, the Lord of Shadow will be off the Isles and probably attempting to create a new base for himself and the Shadow Knights. If time allows we intend to attack him and stop him.

It has been decided that the announcement of the new Lord Knight will take place at the end of the day to allow us to fully concentrate on the above, highly dangerous, tasks in hand.

Once i have gathered more information i may ask some of you to commune further, if you have any questions please ask.

Gimly

Brothers

I have performed some brief communications regarding the remaining courts on the Chaos Isles and have found out the following.

Court of Peacocks ~ They are very arrogant, evil and have human slaves. It was unclear if there are members of the court who could or would live peacefully on Legend if we were to save them.

Court of Brass ~ They also have slaves, and aren't the nicest of people, being typical of their race but aren't looking to cause trouble. They generally keep themselves to themselves and would continue to do so if on Legend.

In both cases I feel it is inmportant for us to travel to the courts and free the slaves and return them to Legend. It may be that some form of pact or agreement can be made with them without having to resort to a violent soloution to rescue the slaves. I will speak to Syndar, the air wyrm who helped us previously, to see if he can provide a rite to transport of the slaves once again.

Can somebody please perform some more divinations about the 2 courts, mainly; location on chaos isles, defenses, leader (or best person to negotiate with) number of slaves

The knights stores will be available to all those traveling, including the various artifacts we have. Details of which can be found in the Knights Stores listing

I can open the World Ley and with a full charge of power extract some 180 people should that also be required, though it might sting a bit and they will need to be lined up and ready to jump through.

Brother Knights,

Here follows a summary of what I have discovered through scrying and more traditional scribed correspondence…

Regarding the Realm Spirit –

If it is decided to attempt to move the Realm Spirit to a stronger more permanent host we should be prepared for an attack from the Arc of Fire and the Court of Shadows – should they discover the location this will be attempted. I will take as many precautions as I can to lessen this.

Legend/The Chaos Isle –

Outside of the Ancient Folk Courts, there are not any other innocents, creatures, spirits or places of import/objects for us to try and rescue before the Island vanishes – other than the Island itself, which is still alive. If either Sigurd or Argo could give their attention to this, that would be appreciated.

There is nothing that we can/need to do to stabilize/strengthen Legend in
view of the events taking place (the destruction/disapearence of the Choas Isle) – as it was never truly a part of that realm. As the dawn passes events will transpire – their true effect can only be measured after this time – and depend greatly upon the Realm Spirit, and how it allows these events to shape its realm.

Court of Brass –

The only individual with any real power is the Lord of the Court (although the others should not be discounted lightly – and will still prove dangerous).

Politically they are very weak – and seemingly less concerned about the fate of the Chaos Isle.

None of the court of Brass hold wardpacts with creatures of undeath – I could not ascertain why. They are not known to hold any specific odd pacts apart from with Imrazil.

Regarding wardings/locations of slaves/if they are trapped and such like… – these cannot be scried about while outside of their demesne – there is a central keep which is clearly visible within their lands.

They have around 200 slaves in total , however this does not necessarily mean that the slaves are ill treated.

Court of Peacocks –

The only individual with any real power is the Lord of the Court (although the others should not be discounted lightly – and will still prove dangerous).

They have some skill manipulating animals and such, and are very
concerned/interested with art. This includes the art of weaponry. In times gone by the Peacocks have served as Champions on the battlefield if needed.

None of the court of Peacocks are known to hold any specific odd pacts apart from with Imrazil.

They have scores of slaves – against estimates fall around the 200 mark in total, at least some of which are mistreated.

I have similar,if not identical, information.

Court of Brass and Court of Peacocks
location on chaos isles, defenses, leader (or best person to negotiate with) number of slaves? Anything else pertinent?

~ In line with most of the Courts the only person with real power is the Lord, unless someone replaces him thus becoming the Lord. The Peacocks tend to have some skill manipulating animals and such, and are very concerned about art. This includes the art of weapons and such. Brass are less concerned and currently politically weak. None of the court of Brass hold pacts with undead for some reason.
Both holds scores of slave, perhaps 200 in total. However the term slave is not in the sense they are mistreated, though it is the case for some of those serving the peacocks.
Both have a central keep that is easy to find when within their lands that is heavily warded. As with the other courts specific information is protected until within their lands.
Neither court is known to hold any specific odd pacts, other than the pact with Imrazil that all of the courts hold.
In times gone by the Peacocks used to sevre as Champions on a battlefield if needed ~

Anyone seeking to attack the knights or interefere with the declaration of the lord knight?
~ It is likely the court of Shadow will seek to stop you, and the Arc of Fire ~

My Lord,

I have sent forth Ley Spirits in Legend to discover answers to those questions which you ask about the Chaos Isle. Early responses appear to indicate it might be a little involved. I will respond more fully once they complete their reconaissance.

Greetings brothers, (and sisters),

I will be in attendance this sunsday. I have cast my runes which have revealed to me the following,

We will need ways and means of warding and protecting against the cold, more specifically the freezing touch of the undead. The runes point this out as it has not yet been mentioned. I know both the warming touch prayer as well as the resist cold evocation.

The runes also warn me of potential danger, a specific event. It is a choice which the realm spirit will have to make, sometimes guided by the lord knight, other times not. However, in different threads of possible futures the choice they make causes a split within the knights.

Apologies, the runes are often cryptic in their meaning, but we must remember that whatever happens we are all brothers, together, defending this land.

I look forward to the outcome of the vote, and to meeting with you all once again.

Fellow Knights,

It wasn’t easy to connect to the Leys of the Isle. They weren’t of Legend, and the link that had been there was rapidly fading. The life within the Isle seemed to have been drawn from Legend, and now it was dying. The Island had no spirit, the closest to it was Legend itself but that was not truly of it yet.

Searching through the remnants and memories wasn’t easy either, they are jumbled and chaotic, unthinking. The nature of the people that ruled the Isle have touched it. The realms of the courts was more than just people on a land they changed the land themselves. The Court of Embers within the Volcano have made it more than just a Volcano, Lord Bones land and the demons he pacted with had changed it.

However the very heart of the Isle wasn’t there. It was easy to tell it had been destroyed. While it was hard to truly kill place spirits, as even in death the place still lived, this is what had happened here. And without a place to be tied to the Isle would not be able to survive.

Reaching through though the bonds between Legend and it were still holding, but they would not survive the Dawn.

As for the matter of it wanting to be saved, the Land longed to be what it once was, but there is a deep sense of loss, and a certainty that it knew it wasn’t possible. However it wanted something, a means to survive, a way to cling to existence but it did not know how.

In It’s past, but Legends. future Imrazil had given it that. Imrazil the Spirit of legend had saved it and given it a place to be, before the Myst came.
But now in its future and Legends past Imrazil was not the Realm Spirit, the Virtues that it had felt still lived but were not the same, and the ties that Imrazil the Realm spirit had created were fading.
It had felt the Realm spirit called and bound, it had felt the attempts to save it, and perhaps these had been what had kept it here the previous Dawn, but now there was nothing.

The ties that had once been great chains were no little more than frayed cotton.

Sigurd

This has cropped up in communications before, about a decision that would have to be made by the real spirit and Lord Knight. From what i remember, we were un-able to find out any more information about it but know that it would be important to the whole of Legend and very specifically will not be an easy decision to make. As long as we all remember that the decision has to be made, and that there may not be an easy answer then I am sure it wont cause an issue.

Following on from what Sigurd said regarding the chaos Isles; This is taken from memory rather then communication, I remember The Lord of Bone telling us that the Chaos were once part of a large world where all the courts of Ancient Folk lived. Their world was attacked and destroyed by the creature known as the World Eater and as a joing rite between the courts they transported the isles away and on to Legend. A pact was then made with Imrazil to keep them as part of Legend.

There's something else we've forgotten, so. When the Knights fought the Lord of Shadow before, the shadow halos that many of us are carrying manifested and Tai, bless him, died. Thats going to be important and if someone can tell me more about that it would be right helpful. I reckon I could maybe move them off someone, once, but lots of us have many of them from what I last remember.

I have spoken to my dragon and have learn't two things,

There are no other factions apart from the Ancient folk of shadow court and the arc of fire planning on tampering with the spirit of legend.

Also we are going to need light magics and 'mantic if possible. i have limited access to this but have a couple of plans, if anyone is able to make me a instructional scroll of advanced Sabre of light and truth i am prepared to learn it on the day.

Brothers

Jus some details in preparation for Starsday regarding the demons of the Arc of Fire and the Shadow Knights, that we know are intending to interrupt our plans . These are notes from previous encounters and communications rather then any new findings.

The Fire Demons
All those we have encountered have been empowered by rituals performed within the arc of fire, or focused on a banner that they will have with them. Details as follows:
Their weapons are flaming, burning in a similar way to the shock spell. This can be put out by use of the extinguish spell.
They fight with great anger and can not be stopped moving, caused by the minator spirit within which can be controlled by druids easily
They have symbols upon their skin, granting them great armour, this can be destroyed by ice magics.

Taking these rituals down makes them far easier to fight in combat.
All those that we have encountered have had additional fire spells that have just been magical in nature. Apart from one of the masters of the arc, whose were also bound with spiritual power.

The Shadow Knights
These are still as dangerous as ever, and if anything been growing in numbers. They are very skilled in combat and have many and varied dark magics. If they are not killed by a ‘Holy’ weapon in a mantic light then they will quickly rise and attack again. Killing them causes a shadow Halo to appear above you. When we previously encountered the Lord of Shadow all of these suddenly became a lot more visible.
The Lord of Shadow was not that skilled in combat, but unsurprisingly was a very powerful ritualist and spell caster. He also had a permanent darkness spell around him. He would transport away or retreat any time I tried to approach him.
It has been found out via communication, although i believe yet untested, that a wraiths touch miracle followed by the internal combustion spell will kill them.

This has been successfully tried in combat - Luthinatos and I summoned half a dozen wraiths and sent them to drain the shadowknights, then I saw at least one, possibly more destroyed by an internal combustion spell from Mercutio. I am not entirely certain if they returned from this, I think not but I believe JJ had a mantic light spell up in the area at the time.
