As ritual strikes bombarded the city, and an amber dome surrounded it, chaos was unleashed over the final dawn for the inhabitants of Thimon.

All manner of strange amber creatures assailed the populace, and a multitude of bizarre temporal effects grew in frequency and potency throughout the city.

In the city's time of need, two forces came to their aid. Some of the most legendary heroes of the land appeared soon after the attacks began. They freed and saved several of the militia, and quickly turned things around so that the beleaguered city forces earned some respite, and began to once again stand firm.

Most to witness the events in person spoke of Milly, a determined noblewoman who was quick to issue orders and ensure that the city's forces organised as swiftly and efficiently as possible. Though apparently some also said, somewhat more surprisingly perhaps, that without the Church of the Tryst, the city would have suffered much worse. It was also said that Kei Ry was kept very busy ensuring the ritual protections about the city held, but he had nonetheless been quick to accept an unexpected offer of help when it came...

As the attacks continued to intensify the populace hid and prayed. Seemingly in answer to those prayers another force arrived. Heavily armoured undead knights, all wearing tabards emblazoned with a dark flame, appeared throughout the city in squads. Wherever they went they greeted the people of Thimon with unfailing politeness, reassuring them that they had permission to be there and were only there to help. They fought with ferocity and skill, with the obvious coherence that comes from strict military training and ages spent fighting alongside each other.

Whilst the mercenaries that had initially appeared went forth to end the source of the threat, these undead knights allied with the militia, and saved many lives, and asked for nothing in return.

After an hour or two, for time was hard to measure that morn, amber creatures from across the city started to be plucked into the sky, floating upwards above the city and disappearing, first in a steady trickle and then a flood.

As this occurred, the undead knights gathered from all corners of the city, congregating in the heart of the city and looked upwards expectantly. And then, at some unseen prompt, they were gone as suddenly as they had arrived. No trace remained, no evidence they had ever been there, other than in the memories of those who live in Thimon. In their short time in the city, they had called upon their patron Aviathar many times as they fought in defence of the city.

Aviathar...a name that had begun to be known in certain areas of the Empire. Some priests had been seen preaching of this faith. It's influence had slowly grown.

But now no word is heard, no mention made of any such worshippers being seen anywhere across the lands. As almost immediately after the events in Thimon an announcement was made that censured this faith, and within a matter of moments, nowhere across the Empire can any followers of this faith be found.

..............

"The Truthspeaker has failed."

"It is as we expected then. A shame. Recall him, his purpose is served, he is of no more use to us. Tell him to return to the Halls, we will call should we find we need his talents again."

*a pause, an unbroken silence that stretches on for several minutes, and then...*

"Please ask my brother to meet me at Shadowholme, it is time we spoke and made our final decision together."

..............

((should anyone have any investigations they wish to make, via divination or simple investigations, visiting Stonehaven and making enquiries, etc, etc then feel free to email or pm me. Otherwise, all trace of the Church of Aviathar on Primus has currently and completely disappeared))
