Thanks to James, Will, Josh and Nick for a great day.

Also to party, as a fun day with quite a few laughs.

Hopefully, I can make next one.

Awesome news! Thanks Edd.

I have booked off playing to ref now so will get writing soon. Hopefully we can get a monster or two.

If people fancy letting me know what they are playing that would be ace.

Thanks,

Alan

Great news! 8 players now! Just need to found a ref and some crew. Failing that, if I can get some crew, I will book off to ref as will still have 6+ players.

I think Rich's idea at start of topic is spot on tbh. Great idea and would help massively!

Unfortunately simple facts are its difficult to get players or crew for guild specials. Guilds specials tend to get done on block with a core group liking idea and playing most of dungeons. What then happens is you get widespread points through that group or they have less playing time so like to mix & match it up with what they play so don't play 'guild' character as much.

The blow up dates dwindle and then you lose tiers and it becomes more difficult to get anything running guild special wise. Now I have heard arguments for not changing guild system from its current form but if anything I think it discourages creation of new guilds and is not woriing for existing guilds. Yes, totally agree you need to get guild specials going and you need to put some effort into keeping existing guilds running but it does seem you get little on return on doing multiple guild themed and guild dungeons.

It current system was fine, why are there only a few guilds with any really chance of surviving either log or short term?

Richard's idea regarding refs allows those that crew more (and therefore have less time to play) to keep guilds their characters are in functioning.

If nothing changes, what I can see eventually happening is you will have 3-4 super guilds that aren't going to lose tiers or blow up, and some one or possible two tier guilds that last 18 months to 2 years before fading. Making Almanac less and less relevant as you would only have a few guilds to choose from anyway.

Personally I don't want to have all my characters in Knights for example (Only saying Knights as highly unlikey to fade as guild) and would rather YP away my guild slots or choose city beggar benefits instead as whilst you are paying points for them, you know what you are getting/haven't got to watch your fav guild fade as you don't get to play that character regularly.

I could go on but lots of people have posted points of views I am 100% agreeing with so don't feel the need.

Ladies & gents,

Despite having done a fair few guild specials over the years, we have a pretty poor blow-up date and will lose our top tier if we don't get a successful guild special done before October (Blow up date is Oct 2017... )

Unfortunately, the core group has dwindled and those that use to do most of guild specials are widespread points wise making it more difficult. I know it can be a struggle nowadays to get a guild special together and its difficult to get crew regardless of guild special or not but if anyone is interested in doing a max 3k In Purity dungeon on 9th September (Either playing or crew), then please book on.
Currently there are only two adult dungeons on that day, 7.5k KotL and 3k In Purity dungeon. Both currently have 5 players so not enough for a guilds special but enough for a guild themed dungeon. Our dungeon currently has no crew and the KotL has just Lee and Fi crewing.

In an ideal world both dungeons would run and I have chatted to the awesome Cotter about remote possibility of merging the two if neither look like filling up/getting crew (But there is strong possibility more people will book onto KotL/it might be suit everyone)

If no one else fancies booking on/we get no crew, would anyone be up for a dungeon (Either playing or crewing) later in year to get top tier back etc? (Meaning we likely cancel 09/09 dungeon)

I hope to have a guild contact finally sorted soon for us to get Great Guild Hall and then follow it up with one to get Statuses in similar manner to Knights of Legend but I want to ensure there is sufficient interest in guild to do that.

I hope to ref a couple of lower level dungeons next year as a few people have mentioned they have low pts characters and hopefully this will both encourage new players to book on and prolong the life of the guild. I also hope to persuade some mad soul to ref some higher level dungeons as well.

We currently have two items which will blow-up before middle of 2018 so lets try and get some use out of them!

Watching of the Academy BUD - 22/04/18

Casts Blessing of Battle as per Miracle 1/day (May be used by any guild member but requires utilise spirit item)

Amulet of the Cradle BUD - 15/05/18 Each guild member gains 6 levels of spiritual dismisses which can be split as desired e.g. 2 x dismiss Ghoul, 6 x Dismiss Zombie, 1 x Dismiss Vampire etc. It also grants utilise spirit item that Amulet ONLY so all guild members may used it.

If anyone is interested in playing, please book on. If not, but have any sort of questions/ideas/willing to ref which may help the guild continue that lease post away! (Got a feeling the guild would fold if we lost both advanced and intermediate tiers tbh and would rather build on what we have than have to restart the guild in some form).

Unfortunately, we lost our booked crew member so down to Brett and I again. Ideally like one or two crew if possible so if any of you are owed any favours, I'd call them in.

Thanks,

Alan

Brett and I are running a Rodanne themed dungeon on 5th August. There are still crew, one more monster would be ace and player spaces (Thanks to Paul for booking to crew)

Currently there are 6 players booked and we believe we know roughly what people are playing but if you could either post here what you are playing, PM Brett and/or I or email me at elfie3662@yahoo.co.uk we will endeavour to ensure everyone has a good time!

Welcome ladies and gentlemen!

The Rodanne City Council are pleased to announce ‘Party in the Park’, a new music festival to rival those of the past!

With the newly created Tree of Life coming to maturity and the park now much safer than in recent years, what better time to celebrate the City’s arrival back on Primus!

There will be food and drink on sell at various stall, and a chance to sample Rodanne’s famous Golden Apple Cider!

With live music from folk bands ‘The Watermill Boys’ and ‘Billy Braggfoot and Sons’, its sure to be a festival to remember!

Plus there will be a chance for those able and willing to sign up for the newly formed Rodanne Watch! Sign up to serve your city!

Warwick Winterbottom
Governor of Rodanne
Major of Little Hollow

(OOC – All players are being hired by City/Governor to provide security for music festival, prevent any attacks on city council (following attempts on Sebastian’s life/threats to council members), and to help Harley with the new recruitment drive for the Watch. The tavern will be the park’s newly built pavilion and feel free to time in as and when you like, if you arrive earlier at caves).

Jokes and innuendo, Giles & Tim seemed everywhere and beat on our dysfunctional group the whole day!

Leo,

Sounds like a plan tbh! I don't have a shed load of spirits but most of my miracles are geared around undead so all good. Depends on what you fancy playing so if you wanted to play your vessel then that is cool with me.

Alan

Alan, if you're playing a necromancer I could play my nightsoil vessel for the dead.
It depends if you have better things to do with your spirits.

He's alive at the moment, but by encounter 3 or 4 you could have a blank slate for endless party-constructive ghouls.

As per Chris's request yesterday, if there is anyone out there free on Sunday it would be greatly appreciated if you are able to crew Chris's Birthday dungeon. We already have the excellent Giles and Tim T so only needs one or two people to help out.
I know there are a lot of people of on 4/day but if anyone on Rodanne themed dungeon on 05/08 or anyone on Fables & Myths lead-up on 12/08 (Both of which I am crewing) fancies helping out that would be great.

Or happy to try and crewing/run a dungeon for someone in future smile.gif

Summonation of the Church of Dead Sidekicks,

I have the deepest sadness for you that you weren't left in the awesome form of Shades the Black Magical Construct! Even though Shades continued to threat me with death each time we 'left' him behind, he is by far the greatest Shade I have met and was likely going to be a powerful champion of Black Magics!

Wherever Shades may now be let us hope he isn't feeling lonely anymore!

Summonation of the Church of Dead Sidekicks, if you wish to be the greatest of 'sidekicks' there is, follow Shades example and you will be fine!

Whenever I summon another Shade, I will think of Shades!

Thanks from me too. Brutal Saturday but by Sunday we seemed to work out what we needed to do.

Matt ressing me was funny smile.gif

Other highlights for me were -

Frost Giant Cotter and his big hammer!
Team Ritualists hunting the rites on Sunday morning.
'Shades' having more power than me most of weekend and threating to kill me if I left him alone again!

That wig was well hot and sweaty though!

I will be playing either my Rodanne Necromancer or Circle Causing Priest. Currently favouring the Necromancer smile.gif

Might have had someone volunteer to help crew but if there is anyone out there that fancies helping Giles, it would be greatly appreciated. Most of team BAM are playing if people fancied bashing us about wink.gif

Hi Folks,

Bit of a long shot as most people had left before I did, but I am missing my black ringbinder that contains some of my character cards in separate coloured plastic wallets. If anyone accidently picked it up or saw it after I left site on Sunday, please can you let me know.

Last time I had it was during de-brief when everyone was getting their points.

I have tried calling site but they don't often answer the phone (If its there I am sure Dave the Warden will find it as he was top bloke all weekend).

Thanks,

Alan

Folks,

There are still two crew slots open for the Liberation Three Day on 23rd to 25th June 2017, just a short distance from caves at Bearswood Scout Campsite in Croydon.

Crew receive 70 creds and 280 monster points and get all their food covered for weekend as well as drinks from the grateful party. Plus you get to see site as I am not sure many people from caves will have seen it before.

It will be a fun event and any help, even drive-bys, would be greatly appreciated.

If you fancied helping out, please do!

Thanks! smile.gif

Pretty much echo what everyone else has said. The building is massive and clearly had a lot of effort put into it. Had a quick look around on Saturday and its very impressive so well done to everyone involved in the construction of it! smile.gif
