Time travel is just... weird sometimes, y'know? One minute all is fine and the next you suddenly have memories that weren't really there before and you kind of know it, but you also kind of accept it. It's like seeing something out of the corner of your eye but it's your thoughts and feelings instead.

So, it was a strange re-writing that the Hetian's of Ishma suddenly remembered having been subjected to decades of raids. Young women captured on a regular basis again and again and again. Rumours of a powerful Undead as the Captain of this Ishmaic vessel that ploughed the seas, bringing terror where they struck.

Memories of the elders (or sort of memories, because they would have been alive, but it didn't happen at first but... you stop thinking about it after awhile because it's just too much) were that they arrived one day about fifty years ago. An unassuming trading vessel was taken, the survivor (there's always one) reporting invisible blades slaughtering the crew before the Captain turned up, and began his decades long campaign.

A confused sort of anger was felt in the lands, that someone else's meddling had caused such suffering.
