QUOTE This is another reminder to club members not to PM with work related queries/points/questions. Please email them to the correct WORK address bookings@labyrinthe.co.uk . Any such messages sent through to my Private Mail box will be deleted with out being read. [Rachael] I've replied here - because the Admin thread doesn't allow replies. I think the problem might be that not everyone reads all the forums - they pick and select the ones they are generally interested, partly due to time, partly due to the volume of threads etc. So they won't have seen your notice about "don't send me pm's about work stuff to my Pm's" its natural enough that people send them there because your listed as an administrator, and make posts from that logon /membership about the caves events. Its a lot quicker to send a pm, and more intuitive than to open up your email system and send a seperate message etc. Maybe you could set up an 'admin' logon for ease? cheers Mark |

There are lots of ways for people to send queries in - e-mail (bookings@labyrinthe.co.uk), phone (0845 6432660), at the desk, or with any of us in person (when we aren't playing).
4 methods - and everyone's free to pick any of them you fancy. PMs (personal messages) may well be easy to send, but are very bad for keeping track of messages and replies (although if you speak to us personally and its something that needs actioning later we'll almost always ask for an e-mail anyway so we don't forget) Andy -------------------- Damn I love muggles

The clue is in the name "Personal Message"
Although Mark has a point. Not everyone will have read the notes as they don't read all the forums. I think it will just be a case of making it prominent on the front page that PMs will not be responded to maybe the odd poster down the caves at the desk to hammer the point home. I have a not disimilar problem and can understand Rachel's frustrastoin. Despite the Auction saying "Only Email" me bids I still get some being PM'd. This is bad as my email is set up to filter the bids and I do a daily collation. If its in my PM there is a high chance it will get missed and then I have no record of the bids as due to the number of PMs that you can have stored I delete stuff quite quickly. PS, Yes, I know my PM Box is full. Email me instead... (Which you can do through the forums email) |

BBB Got to admit, particualrly just before reffing an adventure, my PM box becomes full so quickly it is unbelievable, and as Ian says when you delete mails you lose your audit trail. What i would like is an autoreply that says email me at... -------------------- Jan McManus
