Greetings Shadows,


The Book of Shadows is one of the holy texts, a compilation of scrolls and ancient tomes gathered from across the exostance. As Keeper, it is one of my duties to ensure the book is maintained and updated as necessary. In order to prevent undue wear and tear, I've decided to post excerpts from the book here, for all of us to access at our leisure.

These will not be in any order, but added as I either discover them, or decide they are worth sharing.

The Holy Mother and Father

The Eternal Shadow that is the Great Darkness has many Forms—Demons, Shades, The Night Sky, all are themselves part of the Shadow.

It is Infinite. It is Divine. It is Eternal. It is Always.

The Holy Mother and the Blessed Father are but aspects of the night; - shadow and darkness forged in the great crucible that is Primus by our strongest, purest belief. Two halves of a whole, Shadow and Form, Night and Darkness, Silence and Solidarity, Stability and Change, Shelter and Destruction, Father and Mother.

For me, they are the darkness. They are the ones who answer my prayers. Whose words guide me on my path. It is through them I serve the Darkness best.

Heed their call shadows, know what they whisper, and let them guide you to serve the darkness. For without the darkness, they cannot be. To serve the Darkness is to serve them and to serve them is to serve the Great Shadow itself.

The Blessed Father,
- Great Shadow of Night, Strong and Silent Guardian

Hear me shadow, and know me for who I am

I am the Shadow on the Brightest Day

I am the never ending veil of Night where the Star Goddess dances

Come with me into the warm enfolding dark

I am the shadowed veil that protects you from harm

I am the fury which will rend the flesh from your foes

I am the velvet depths of the night sky, the swirling mists of midnight, shroud of mystery.

Gather in the moonless night and speak in ancient tongues. The Dark Mother and I will listen. Sing to us and cry out and the power will be yours to wield

The Holy Mother,
- Blessed Darkness, The Final Embrace, Mistress of Change

Hear me little Shadow, and know me for who I am

I have been with you since you were born, and I will stay with you until you return to me

I am the one who calls to you at the end of your journey, after the day is done, you will find blessed rest in my embrace

I am the chrysalis in which you will face that which terrifies you and from which you will blossom forth, vibrant and renewed

I am the glowing forge that transforms your inner demons into tools of power. Open yourself to my embrace and be reborn

Seek me at the setting of the sun and you shall be transformed, for once you look upon my face, there is no return

The Darkness and the Dawn

The Morning arrives to banish the Night,
But the Shadow does not fear
The Sun comes to cast its light,
And the Shadow does not fear

The Night just been, had cast it’s spell
All it touched, it touches still.
It’s now the morning, the Dawn hath come
But the spell of night has just begun

Bird, Beast, Man, Bush and Tree
Expel their darkness for all to see,
The Shadows they cast, they come from within
The Evil of their souls, their deepest sin

Shadows of what was, or what could have been
The time has come to see the unseen
Beware the light, Less it shines on thee
A Shadow be cast, the sin set free

The sins in shadow, they feed the dark
Sustain it through the day
So that even in the light of the sun,
The Darkness still can play

Upon the Dusk, the setting sun
The darkness swells anew
Night has come, the work is done
Soon darkest dreams come true

Why would it not be the most delightful thing, to unleash true tyranny and fear amongst this cesspool of civilization?

To watch with pleasure, as they try so desperately to defend that which is already forsaken?

For so long we all slumbered, allowing them to make an effort on the path they were set.

Yet they sat back, and let greed and lust overwhelm them all too easily.

Wouldn't it be far more fun to throw some true danger in the mix?
Let them see what they have so effortlessly forgotten.
Bring forth the supressed memory of what true fear was like?
To see in their eyes that desperate attempt to cling onto life,
As they see in yours the determination to take it.

We are not some pathetic subordinate,
Having to "possess" a human in order to carry out our deeds.
No.
We are integrated with that soul, we are a part of that person.
Just as I am with this person now.

After all, the darkness is far more comforting than the light.
For there is more to learn in the dark, than there will ever be in the light.

In honesty, I do see a great deal of happiness to be found, in issuing the just desserts to those who truly deserve it.
And there is no more soothing thought, than when all who come into your path as you walk the streets each day, step out of your way.
Not knowing why, but fearing what would happen if they keep going.

And to watch the surprising agony, when you unleash the full devastation of your voice and will unto someone who thought you were a pushover.
That wonderful seduction of destruction

I shall indulge once my strength has gathered
and Primus will know True Fear.
