It’s another weekend looking like a busy Saturday and a quiet Sunday. More crew needed both days however, along with players as well.
Saturday
New Player pre-8th, we have 5 new players wanting to come and try out the system so we are keen to make sure they have a good day. We currently need a ref and some crew to make this run, plus a couple of experienced players to help them out on the dungeon. Chat to Will P if you keen to be involved. A new player dungeon can be provided if someone is able to ref but not got time to write it.
Starfall Max 750 Campaign – Part 2. Being reffed by Gordon and Claudia, has 11 players for the next instalment of this fun and in depth campaign, see the forums for the mini novel of events so far! Currently only has 1 monster so could do with a couple more to help out.
“It’s About Time” Max 1500, another instalment of Sean’s campaign that crosses many levels and worlds. Details are in the campaign forum if you want to get up to speed. Currently has 8 players, an a-ref and 2 monsters, so is looking good at the moment.
Open Max 3.5k, currently has 9 players and a monster. So needs some crew to make this run, a ref being the main one. There is rumours that Isteed offered to ref it but I am just trying to confirm if this is true, or just a pub yes that then regret in the cold light of Monday morning 
Will keep you all updated.
Sunday
So, currently there only thinking looking likely to run, and with people keen to make it run, are a max 750. It currently has 4 players, and will have the caves to itself. It just needs a ref and some crew to make it run. Again, a suitable dungeon can be provided if someone is free to ref but not write, please get booking on or get in touch. Has some of Saturdays refs and crew already booked to play so would be nice if people could return the favour to them.
Further Ahead
The first overland of the year is on the 19th March at Buckmore Park. Is a lead up for the Amles 3-day. It currently needs some crew to confirm the site booking and ensure that it runs. If you are free that day please do book to crew and come see the new site. Is only a 20 minute drive from the caves, just off the M2.
Next Tuesday club is on the 28th Feb, and currently only has 2 people booked to play, definitely needs more! Giles should be booking on to ref it shortly, and I am sure he has realised it falls on pancake day, so who knows what fun he has in store for this event!
Rumours and Gossip
Thanks to everyone who parked in the top carpark this weekend, please keep it up.
Eagle eyed or peckish people would have noticed that there are lots of snacks and drinks behind the desk that Will is keeping stocked up. Plenty to treat yourself to at the weekend, or put your requests to him if there is a particular favourite you would like to see on sale down there.
And on a personal note, thanks to all those who looked after and checked up on me Saturday at the caves when I was ill. Lots of tests at the hospital (while still in hero pants and IC shirt!) later and they no idea what it was, but am feeling lot better now

So a midweek update on where we are at:
Saturday
Most urgently, we need a ref and some crew for the new player dungeon. There are 5 new players wanting to try the caves for first time in addition to the 3 people already booked on to the dungeon. We would really like this to run if anyone can help out in any capacity? I can supply a dungeon to be run.
The 3.5k has James I as ref, and a couple of monsters but is down to 5 players, so could do with some more booking on
The 750 and 1500 campaign dungeons are both fall, although 750 could do with another monster or 2 for it.

So the 750 now has a ref and an a-ref, but still only 4 players. It ideally needs a couple more players to ensure that it runs as it is currently the only thing booked that day at the caves. Although Jack G is looking at organising A 4K anti undead dungeon as well.

I would be happy to combine the two dungeons on Sunday of if the other players are happy with a Amlas themed event?

Well firstly I hope we aren't at that stage just yet but can understand it as a potential solution.
However we are trying to play a low level event for a reason and a 4k doesn't inspire/interest a 200pt B class warrior regardless of how "unbalanced" it is claimed to be, no offence intended Sam, nor does playing an Amlas themed event for that matter bit I can't speak for the other two players currently.
If it was to result in a merged dungeon then while Claudia has very little option to change character for me it opens up a whole slew of 30+ characters I’d need to know by tomorrow (Thursday) evening in order to make a choice and pack accordingly.
Or to play devil's advocate your players could book onto the open dungeon 
(Yes I know they are trying to grab points for the Amlas day).

It's also the start of a 3-4 part campaign, so I'll be on it regardless!

I have booked to monster the new player dungeon. However, I am a mere drone, and without the directing mind of a referee will simply revert to shouting 'SIX SIX SIX ANGMAR!' at everyone I meet. Don't let it happen, volunteer to ref today....

Leo has kindly stepped in to ref the low level dungeon, so it will definitely be happening thanks to him and Matt's monstering, although an a-ref to help them out would be good.
In fact monsters all round on Saturday will be good as we have 4 adult dungeons down.
Any other players or crew for Sunday? Tomorrow is likely to be decision day for whats happening.

I'm on the 750 on Sunday and am looking forward to playing a 500pt warlock if it can go ahead. I'm not really interested in a 4k Amlas dungeon, sorry.

Ideally the 750 needs 6 players to run, so if you are thinking about playing please do book on. This is currently looking more likely to be the dungeon running then the Amles dungeon.
Duncan will make the final decision later today so if you want to be at the caves on Sunday book on!

Booked on in case this goes ahead, 700 odd points of Baronial necromancer.
Update - disaster strikes, am 880 points. Will see if I can summon up the will to start something new or book off.
Further update - have looked though my cards and found a 180 point elven wizard. I am not sure this is a good idea

If you can't we agree to it being a max 800 over 750 and the +10% threshold allows you to play at 880...

That would be a far more constructive option than said elven wizard, certainly. I found the card at the back of a wallet in the bottom of a drawer, chewed by a cat. These are all signs that sensible past me decided never to play it again

Ooh, that means I could then theoretically play "Clive" my 800 and some change Armoured Priest that I really need to work on levelling up before the 2 Day Max 1,500..

All good to make it a max 800, Ian books on and is all set to run, and fairly confident it won't change the dungeon stats :-)

Ultimately its going to depend on what the trains are like.
I've pretty much given up coming to the caves on a Sunday due to the usually high chance of rubbish trains.

Sunday has 6 players booked on the 750 so will be running, it could still do with a monster if anyone is free to come down.
Saturday is looking all sorted for players and crew across all events, thanks to all those that have stepped in to help. As it is likely to be a busy day at the caves can people please ensure they park in the top carpark (or the 3 spaces to the right of the steps if you there early enough). Please also try and get down, pay and do desk stuff early to avoid a queue forming at 10am.

Incase we are going to get into the everyone getting there 15 mins early for a space game. The three spaces are initially for me, the desk staff and the armourer
