Greetings one and all!
My name is Dr Lloyd, I recently went on my first hiring and am off to another in the coming week and I was wondering if anyone had any support or guidance for a new field agent? I recently decided to put my skills and knowledge of ancient artifacts to the test and, bar a remarkable run disarming traps, I left feeling a little overwhelmed and out of my depth, barely escaping with my life! I look forward to working with you all in the future, thank you for taking your time reading this, Dr Henry Lloyd -------------------- Nolsey

Greetings Dr Henry Lloyd
As a lonely clerk that has been assigned to ...err... administer the affairs of a certain associate of ours let me greet you to the Department, and I can give you some advice. The main focus of our department is to locate and secure terrible world, plane, reality shattering, etc.. artefacts, Normal procedure for this is for someone much more senior than me in the department or a representative of some other branch of the Inquisition to officially hire a group of mercenaries to go out to specifically find the artifact in question. Just to note that there is a difference between an artefact of power that goes against your religious believes / academic morality that would be useful to a mercenary of that way of thinking and that of the artifacts that can cause serious issues that warrant their removal, however it is always best to be safe if there is concern over an artifact bring it back to the inquisition for a quick study and if deemed safe it can released to the new owner before it is bound to it's user. If you do come across a dangerous artefact a reminder to bag and tag it and return it to your nearest Inquisition office if you are able to transport it safely, the department will assess the artefact and depending of quality and our available funding a reward will be handed to you. if you are unable to bring in a dangerous artefact best course of action if you are unable to make the item safe is to report its location to the department / inquisition as soon as possible. in the mean-time if possible get the area it is in sealed off with resources available ideally with a legion or two, but realistically the local watch might be the only thing available. And be sure to make them understand that the artefact is extremely dangerous and someone more powerful will be coming to deal with it. As for assistant with equipment for your missions please check with the quartermaster (ref/almanac) as depending on the current funding levels (OOC: depending on available benefit tiers) our department will supply in order: A trinket that will only last for one mission, but will be able to cast a single spell of up to 6th rank or a miracle of the 4th of your choice The quartermaster maybe able to supply you with some scrolls that should be useful according to inquisition, I cannot reveal how they know because it is above my pay-grade (ooc: need to ask the ref before dungeon for a total of 10 power points of scrolls either magical or spiritual that will be useful on the dungeon, note: that phys reps required for scrolls and also these maybe useful on your dungeon but not necessarily usable by you) And if maximum funding is restored then you may choose some wares for the Inquisition stores (OOC: advanced tier which might be back and is 12 isp of standard items as per dealer best to ask ref / desk) (ooc: not sure if there is a guild box for guild funds / item or not) I hope this has been of some use, if you do run into any other from our department they may be able to assist as members of our department are quite varied Mr I N Bezel Department of Recoveries and Collections Inquisition -------------------- J - The thing known as Dog

You should speak to Hive. He is probably the most senior and active member of DORAC and may be willing to help you out

Oi! Founding member here. Plus the guild head is always about. He’s my best friend Bartimaeus. Serin Indeed. We believe DORAC is an important department for the Imperium. But we have no interest in being involved in running things, our duties for the Hive and as Mentatus are quite sufficient. We are also unable to help with the original request, any spare resources we have are spoken for by our High Priestess! We are King Hive |

Hello, I might be able to help you...
What did you need? Equipment and supplies or advice? I'm not so sure I'm good at the advice although I did manage to survive my first life quite well. Let me know any specifics you need help with and I'll see what I can do. Kiwi (OOC: If there's any specific questions you have, feel free to post them or even pm me and I'll see what I can do. If it's equipment you're after, let me know.) -------------------- Stacey

If it weren’t for my fellow adventurers brining my body back to be revived, I am not sure where I would be. Though I appreciate the offer of equipment and supplies I do not with to be a burden and would hate to owe a debt someone as lowly as myself may not be able to repay. Looking forward to hearing from you soon, Doctor Henry Lloyd. OOC: I’ve been out twice and died both times. I am very new and could do with some advice as to how to act as a member of DORAC without putting my life at risk! -------------------- Nolsey

Dear Doctor Lloyd, While I may not be the best person to advise, as I recently managed to die twice in a relatively short space of time myself. It would probably be helpful if we understood a little bit more about your talents and skills... the advice given to a brave and strapping warrior would be very different from than given to a flimsy fey, even if that fey were bristling with magical power. But the first and primary piece of advice I can give you is to stop and think carefully about the risks you are placing yourself under. look at your fellows, they are your team and they can assist you in dealing with situations, don't walk towards heavily armed warriors unless you have the skill at arms to deal with them, don't risk dealing with magical wards unless you have the skills to understand them... play to your strengths and encourage others to play to theirs... and remember just because you are a member of this organisation that doesn't mean you can immediately manage every dangerous artifact you come across, but by working with your party you will stand a better chance of success.
