As we get a bit closer and people have had time to change characters 4-5 times we thought we’d do a post and put some info out.
First Lead ups – We are doing three. The first two are single party events, so if you can please play one and monster the other. If there is space for people to do both then we are fine with it, but only if we have enough monsters and everyone is fair about it. The last one is two parties and ideally we’d like everyone to be able to do it. The dates are:
4th May
13th July
10th August (two party).

Character info – We would like to have a rough idea of what we are stating for. Can you please email me (lee@labyrinthe.co.uk) the following and I will share with the other refs:
Some character info – A paragraph or two on your character and what motivates you.
Your planned spend (we understand this might change, so please highlight what's on your card and what is locked, and what is flexible.
List of items (Including any hand me downs).
Your planned battle-board.
Copies of your apps – I will save these and only myself, Ryan and Tiffer will have access. At the end of the event I'll delete the folder they are in.

Please bring five copies of your battle-boards, and a separate equipment list. The reason for the separate list is we can transfer it day to day easily and ensure it is up to date.

Event info – Some basics. We’ll start separate threads closer to the time about rooms and transport, but please start thinking if you want a room etc.
Food wise – I am sure out lovely Mother will be in touch closer to the event around things like what you eat/don’t eat etc.

Arrival/ on event/leaving – plan is arrive on Wednesday Afternoon/evening (28th August) with a soft time in for roleplay and working out plot etc, then wake up time in on Thursday 29th. Time out Sunday 1st around 2ish, clean and off site.
Things to note:
• The kitchen and area around it are not time in. Please don’t sit in them etc. There will be the main room set up for use as an IC area.
• Please bring lights. You will need them for fighting outside the house and doing night sections.
• If you die from ritual strikes in your tents because you stayed asleep, well guess you died 😊

To clean up everyone will be assigned an area, we won’t do points until everywhere is clean. Teams will be biased, so if you do a lot of cleaning/help with washing up then you likely avoid the toilets at the end, if you use loads of makeup then the sinks will be yours.

And as a brief bit of pre-brief, more will follow at some point –

A couple of changes and a clarification/reminder.
First up clarification. This came up while chatting about Amles events and myself and the ref found that the honoured ones restricitons were harsher than we thought. As a reminder they are bound by the Jade code in full, the only difference between them and Samurai’s (via tradition) is the Samurai have extra restricitons.
Also with regards to Samurai restrictions dying while attempting to complete the mission is not failing for Seppuku.

And the changes:
Mystical Rages is being removed. It’s an old hang over and just complicates things. Going forward rages apply to all power bases of damage. Feel free to get a points refund. If you have it via old in m/class type abilities come and find me to get them changed, or email lee@labyrinthe.co.uk (finding me likely will be quicker).

Tempo of Battle – This change also extends to Tempo of power and similar.
First the max duration is reduced from 30 minutes to 15 minutes.
Second short breaks no longer break tempo. Effectively if you are in the same encounter and there is a pause (or even getting a prepped total) your power ups continue.
Referees should endeavour to make it clear when an encounter is a moving encounter such as a mittlenacht walk (where Tempo would apply), rather than the party moving between set piece style encounters and being attacked (where Tempo wouldn’t apply). When in doubt it is general best to assume Tempo isn’t applying and be pleasantly surprised when you check and find out it does.

The intention behind this is to make it a bit easier to use, flow better, and be clearer.

The inquisition is looking to hire a great of mercenaries with some experience to investigate a surge of power in rural Rodanne.
We will need you to obtain a small number of objects to allow safe travel to the location, and then investigate it.
Pay will be 3,000 grulls and we will cover the cost of your basic imperial allowance.

Tempora has been sentenced to death, and will be handed over to be returned to life. The act of one that claims membership of the Circle to slay another user of power is to breach the accords. While others may of been willing to take that action, Tempora should of understand the Accords.

As many of you know the Elemental Font of Water has been moved from the ruins of Keys to Port Miere. In and of itself this is not an issue, however there appears to be a current effort to destabilise and weaken the Font. This would likely have negative consequences to the Green Dragon is successful.
As such any that are available please travel to Port Miere and investigate what is going on, making an effort to ensure the Font remains intact.
If possible to ensure its continued strength finishing the binding rituals to allow Slushy to master the font and ensure it can protect itself would be ideal.

Two of: +3/1 life (doesn't stack with other radiated stuff), +1 mac, + 1 sac
A war cry
Live to minus 6 (via a cast mantic spell) doesn't stack with other temp live to. +1 mac and sac from the same spell.

Talthar
2 mac 2 sac from a mantic spell, also gives 2 dac not with chosen/bless etc.
Count as retainers to me if not already a retainer.

I can cast self on other, so will use simple things like: rockskin vs magic or similar.
My bless works on you if you are immune to bless unless from your 1st to 8th abilities. It grants immunity to the sunless/soul wind, and if goodly immunity to the supernatural environmental effects of any realm you are in.

Fi gives everyone that eats a meal with her a 1st to 3rd level handbook goodly miracle innate (feast rather than f&b style).
Her healing cures perm and diminish spirit type effects and is goodly spirit/Gold mana if mantic.
All healing is +50% and not capped, total heal is 120/120 or a level of resistance for an hour for a real total.
Prep for total is only 10 seconds.

Sorry for the short notice but the City of Sellaville is looking to hire an experienced group of mercenaries to resolve a small number of growing issues before they become significant. This is a fact finding mission that will hopefully resolve issues before they become a problem, or at least give sufficient information to resolve them going forward.

If you could gather in the stadtus offices tomorrow morning, if a change of location occurs the scribes will be bale to inform you.

Also if anyone was involved in efforts to re-imprison the Bone King recently using the cornerstones of the city (thus ensuring the Commisant was not held in largely irrelevant combat with him) could you please enlighten me onto what happened to the stones as they seem to be relevant for issues going forward.

Sorry I missed a couple (they were on a separate bit of paper):

Retros
This is likely only relevant if you have an ability that says "No retro's" on it, as otherwise it doesn't effect you. So why the need for it? There are a lot of older apps that have the restriction and itsn ot as clear as some of the newer ones this should bring everything in line and as intended.
First to be a retro for these purposes it is something that triggers without an OOC or IC declaration.

Not get out retros
These include things like: War Cry, Foretold, Pure Force, Passive healing etc. The key here is the person stays to be hit more once its been triggered.
If you have a restriction of "No retro's" these are fine.

Get out retros
This includes the classic retro's of "I get a rockskin vs the blow and then vanish" and similar, but also includes things like "when I fall unconscious I earth meld/blink etc
The spirit of the no retro's rule is you don't get to have this style of get outs.
If you've ended up with both types of abilities come and see myself or Duncan to respend one of them.

"Clarify"
A few people have an ability that allows a follow up answer to a comm to clarify the answer. A few ref have come to me and asked about it and how it should work, because of this I've gone through and worked out a suitable example of how it should work below. This might be slightly different to what people have verbally asked me, but is in line with how I broadly view it should work and how I cost it.
The key is in the word "clarify" the follow up question allows you to clarify the original answer not get more info. As an example:

"How do I kill that?" is the initial question with an answer of "Red, Blue, and Black mana damage"
A clarify question of do they have a dying effect isn't ok as its not clarification.
A clarify of "Is there an order or similar" with an answer of "Yes, Red, then blue, and black last" is acceptable.

Stuart I honestly suspect that most of the things you are worried about when you show them to me will be fine for regaining power. Its more for things like the 24 hour power ups where it got missed off, which there have been a few.

A couple of reminders and a small change or two:

Mantics:
If you have an ability that turns all your power “mantic” (or similar) then you still need to have non-standard spells and miracles checked to ensure they are suitable to cast mantically. This potentially also includes enhancements to spells and miracles if it does something different.

Durations:
This is effectively a follow on from the rule changes a couple of years ago regarding carrying things over on battle boards. Durational abilities are broadly based on a cave dungeon, and work fine on triple lengths. However on extended lengths they can create some trouble, as such the following is now in place:
All non-standard spells, miracles, evocations, etc. with a duration cannot have the power regained while the effect is active (so if you have a 1 hour rockskin you can’t regain the power until it ends)
This applies equally to published effects that have been changed by non-standard apps (such as increasing the duration of an effect)

I will review abilities on a case by case basis and if I feel the above is not relevant I will add to the ability that the power can be regained while active.


Setting items
When using the ISP for character points it must be an ability the person can buy, and they must meet the requirements for it. So have atendency slot for a tendency, if its a 1/day innate not have purchased it etc.
Also all such items when being issued need to be signed by one of the CMT.

Justice of the Kings
Not for the published version as its obvious but Justice of the kinds variants (including if you have it vs effects) only apply to damaging effects. So you cna't use Justice vs effects vs an Anaths for example.
