Candles flare, lighting the room.

Appearing at the desk is a figure that looks like the Empress but worried and hazy to look upon.

She gets up, walks through the closed and locked door, and heads towards the throne room. The guards outside look at each other confused but one follows the apparition while the other goes to alert the captain of the guard. She walks through the sealed doors of the throne room and rests her slender fingers on the throne which shimmers and pulses with power at her touch.

Suddenly the sealed door flies open, much to the guards talking worridly with each other outsides surprise, when the apparition turns and with urgency in her voice says

"Alert the Lord Inquisitor and the Chancellor at once, the foe has made his move at last." With this the apparition fades from sight and the doors to the throne room seal again.

"What the hell was that sarge, and what do we do?"

"Not sure lad" says the grizzled veteran "but either way you best run along and inform the Lords of what happened and tell them we will guard here until we hear from them."
